Arguably one of the most popular sketches in the past decade of Saturday Night Live, the digital short, “Lazy Sunday”, helped launch the viral video era, as well as the career of the then relatively unknown, Andy Samberg.   It’s a surprise that five years have passed and no one has ever requested a live performance of Andy Samberg’s and Chris Parnell’s comedy fueled hip-hop song.

Well, tonight Jimmy Fallon put an end to that.  With Parnell as his guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and an “impromptu” visit from Samberg, the first ever live performance of “Lazy Sunday” took place.  And with the always impressive house band, The Roots, providing a medley of classic hip-hop beats for the duo to perform over, this is not a live performance you should miss. Hit the jump to check it out in its entirety. Here’s to hoping a live performance of “Dick in a Box” is in our near future.

Lazy Sunday: Can You Find All 50 Movies In Empire’s Cryptic Canvas?

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: May 24th, 2009 at 3:33 am

Tomorrow is Memorial Day and while we should be honoring the dead, we will most likely be honoring them in our own special fashion: barbecues and sleeping in.  But since you probably don’t have work tomorrow, may I suggest spending the next 48 hours trying to squeeze every last piece of movie knowledge from your skull as you try to solve Empire’s “Cryptic Canvas”.  In the picture below, there are the titles for fifty movies.  All the movies are from the past twenty years which mercifully narrows it down.  You have to guess which part of the image represents a specific title.  I was able to correctly guess 33 out of 50 before sleep claimed me.  I’m sure you’ll have better luck and perhaps figure out what movie title comes from a dragon about to devour a car.  Was there a movie called “Dragon Eats Car” that I missed?
