The NBC comedy series Community is finally returning with new episodes for the remainder of its third season on March 15th, much to the happiness of its devoted fans. Telling the story of a tight-knit Greendale Community College study group, that includes actress Alison Brie as high-strung perfectionist Annie, the show is always smart, always clever and always funny.
During this recent interview to promote the return of the show, Alison Brie talked about how it feel to finally be back on the air with new episodes, what the outpour of love and support from the fans has meant to them, what’s new for her character’s romantic life, her favorite scene in the series, her favorite upcoming episode, and the prop that she stole from the set to play with for a day. She also talked about her return to Mad Men this coming season, and the best and worst things that could happen to her characters on both that show and Community. Check out what she had to say after the jump:

The premiere of the long-awaited fifth season of Mad Men is just around the corner with a two-hour return slated to air on Sunday, March 25th at 9/8c. Until then, the marketing campaign should be enough to whet our appetite, especially with this strange and cryptic poster that AMC just debuted. Speaking with The New York Times, series creator Matthew Weiner commented on the image, inspired by the work of Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico, saying, “This is a dreamlike image, a nonverbal representation of where my head is at and where the show will be. By the end of the season, I guarantee you’ll know what it is about.” I can’t wait to see Jon Hamm back as Don Draper and see what’s he’s been up to this whole time. See the new poster after the jump.

Style, debauchery, deception, adultery, jealousy. That about sums up AMC’s Mad Men, which returns for it’s fifth season on March 25th. We already brought you the series promo and some fantastic marketing, but now the creative team has gotten a little more specific. They’ve released some short character trailers featuring your favorite ad men and women. So far they’ve highlighted Peggy (Elisabeth Moss), Joan (Christina Hendricks), Roger (John Slattery) and, of course, Don (Jon Hamm). Mad Men returns for it’s fifth season on March 25th on AMC. Hit the jump to check out the character trailers.

In preparation for the two-hour season five premiere of Mad Men on March 25th, AMC has rolled out some new marketing. It’s a tricky thing to do, and do well, when your popular show centers on the men and women of an ad agency, but as usual they’ve nailed it. With all the color and clutter of New York City’s skyline vying for your visual attention, these clean and minimalist billboards are refreshing, eye-catching and iconic. We’ve also got the first promo video for season five which ties in nicely to the rest of the marketing. Mad Men, starring Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss and Vincent Kartheiser, returns to AMC on March 25th. Hit the jump to check out the marketing.

Nobody Walks, directed by Ry Russo-Young (You Won’t Miss Me), was one of the many films that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Written by Lena Dunham and Russo-Young, the ensemble drama stars John Krasinski, Olivia Thirlby, Rosemarie DeWitt, India Ennenga and Justin Kirk. In the film, “Krasinski plays Peter, a Hollywood sound designer who’s agreed to help Martine (Thirlby) with her experimental art film as a favor to his wife (DeWitt). Martine, a beautiful and driven 23-year-old artist, comes to stay in the family’s pool house at their posh Silver Lake home, and her arrival ignites raw emotions and desires throughout the entire family.” Ennenga plays the daughter. Since premiering, Magnolia picked up the film for domestic distribution, so you’ll be able to see it at some point down the road.
During my interview with Rosemarie Dewitt we talked about being at Sundance, who she plays in Nobody Walks and what it’s about, how the story changed along the way, karaoke and more. In addition, since Dewitt just finished shooting Neighborhood Watch (which stars Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade), she talked about who she plays and what it’s about. We also talked about Your Sister’s Sister and The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Hit the jump to watch.

As part of the AMC portion of the TCA Winter Press Tour, the cast and creator of Mad Men (which premieres on March 25th) hosted a cocktail party, which appropriately gave out a jar of green olives, just perfect for martinis, as a parting gift. During this interview, show creator/executive producer/writer/director Matthew Weiner gave very slight hints at where Season 5 is going, how he feels about all the network series that have been inspired by his creation, the themes and arcs he’s focusing on this year, why he wanted to do a two-hour premiere episode, how far ahead he plans things out, how often he’s surprised by where the story and characters take him, that there was a point where he was convinced that this season would never happen, how he feels about where this season ended up, and stressed that it was not his decision to keep the show off the air last year. The Television Critics Association press tour is winding down to a close, and AMC recently held their panel and revealed tidbits on three of its original series. During the cable channel’s press panel, the network announced that its critically lauded flagship series Mad Men will finally return on March 25th. The series will have been off the air for almost a year and a half, but season five will kick off with a two-hour premiere that creator Matthew Weiner describes as a “Mad Men movie.” Hit the jump for more, including the premiere date of The Killing, when audiences will finally find out who killed Rosie Larson, and an episode extension for the third season of The Walking Dead.

News keeps pouring out of the Television Critics Association, but now sights can be set on another big event for TV fans with PaleyFest 2012 announcing this year’s panels with some of the biggest shows of the season. Community (which is apparently not cancelled yet) will make an appearance and new shows like American Horror Story and New Girl will debut at the festival alongside fan favorites like Mad Men and Modern Family. In Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, actor Jared Harris plays iconic villain Moriarty, with the perfect blend of menace and charm. He is the intellectual equal of the world’s most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey, Jr.), but without a moral compass, allowing his capacity for evil to be endless.
During this exclusive interview at the film’s press junket, Jared Harris talked about how he ended up playing Moriarty, how daunting it is to play a genius criminal mastermind, the importance of keeping the character’s motives mysterious and unexplained, that he loves a good fight scene, and how he’d love to revisit the role, if they ask him back for another film. He also talked about taking on the historical figure Ulysses S. Grant for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, working with Daniel Day Lewis, who stays in character throughout the shoot, currently filming the next season of Mad Men, and his return to Fringe. With awards season in full swing, the Producers Guild of America has just announced the television series nominees for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards which will be announced on January 21, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. In the comedy category, I can’t believe a show with such inconsistent writing quality as Glee beats out something like Community, but there you have it. There’s still some deserving nominations with Modern Family and Parks and Recreation though. On the dramatic side of things Game of Thrones gets some well-earned loved for their first season and both Mad Men and Dexter continue their collection of accolades. For the rest of the nominees in each category as well as talk shows, competition shows and non-fictions shows, hit the jump.

In Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, actor Jared Harris plays iconic villain Moriarity with the perfect blend of menace and charm. He is the intellectual equal of the world most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey, Jr.), but without a moral compass, allowing his capacity of evil to be endless.
At this weekend’s press junket for the film, Collider got the opportunity to speak with Jared Harris and, although we will run that portion of the interview closer to the December 16th theatrical release, we did want to share what he had to say about taking on the historical figure Ulysses S. Grant for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, and working with Daniel Day Lewis, who stays in character throughout the shoot. He also talked about how he’s currently filming the next season of Mad Men and how lucky he is to have the opportunity to work on that show, as well as his return to Fringe. It looks like the annual festival for all things television is getting off to a dysfunctional start…and I mean that in a good way. PaleyFest 2012 has announced the first three honorees of the event and all of them feature some of TV’s most quirky and unconventional characters. FX’s American Horror Story will serve as the gala opening, AMC’s Mad Men returns to the festival after being honored in its debut season and ABC’s Modern Family will close out the two week festival.
The 29th annual PaleyFest will return to the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills from March 2nd to the 14th, 2012 in a celebration of fantastic television. Hit the jump for more.

Though working to bring Mad Men back almost each and every season proved to be a chore when negotiating with AMC, series creator Matthew Weiner likely has a more difficult task ahead of him as he works on what will be the final three seasons of the series as was dictated in the deal revealed in April of this year. Weiner will have to effectively end a series with rich characters that audiences have come to love for seven years by the time all is said and done. However, though the end is still roughly three years away, Weiner can’t help but think about how the series will end. And while he doesn’t know everything that will happen in the end, Weiner says, “I do know how the whole show ends.” Find out what else he had to say after the jump.

Back when creator/executive producer Matthew Weiner had finally closed his deal for the final three seasons of Mad Men, it was said that each episode airing on AMC would be trimmed down for 45-minutes in length as opposed to the usual 47-minutes that had been previously allotted. The episodes would, however, remain the proper length for OnDemand, DVD and other formats. However, Variety now reports that change in the running time has now been axed every single episode aired will be the 47-minute version. Weiner says, “”I don’t know how they managed to make that work out. It was a lot of worry. I’m so thrilled.” Frankly, while two minutes seems like an inconsequential amount to worry about trimming, when it comes to TV, every minute counts, especially when that show is something as spectacular as Mad Men. Sadly the fifth season doesn’t premiere until March 2012, but it will be worth the wait.

Tonight was the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and the winner’s list included some great names. Perhaps the best win of the night was Peter Dinklage picking up Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Game of Thrones. Not far behind was Kyle Chandler finally picking up an Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series for the final season of Friday Night Lights (the show also picked up an Emmy for Best Writing in a Drama Series). Martin Scorsese picked up an award for his direction of Boardwalk Empire‘s pilot episode, and ubiquitous character actor Margo Martindale won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Mags Bennett on FX’s Justified.
The top awards for Best Drama, Best Comedy, and Best Variety, Music or Comedy Series went to last year’s winners Mad Men, Modern Family, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, respectively. Best Miniseries or TV Movie was awarded to PBS’ Downtown Abbey while CBS’ The Amazing Race picked up another Emmy for Best Reality-Competition Program. Hit the jump for the full list of winners.
