Summit has sent over eight new character posters and a making-of featurette from director Paul W.S. Anderson’s take on The Three Musketeers. Starring Logan Lerman, Luke Evans, Ray Stevenson, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew Macfayden and Mads Mikkelsen, the film looks pretty much exactly how you’d expect a Paul W.S. Anderson Musketeers movie to look. I’m no Musketeers enthusiast, so I’m really not offended by Anderson’s updating of the material. That doesn’t mean I want to see it either, though.
Check out the new hero/villain character posters and the “Making of a Musketeer” featurette after the jump. The Three Musketeers hits 3D theaters on October 21st.

The first images from the set of Paul W.S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers have leaked online. The set photos offer us our first look at Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) as the villain Rochefort and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) as hero/aspiring musketeer D’Artagnan. As you’ll see from the images, Anderson isn’t pushing any boundaries when it comes to the costumes. On the plus side, Mikkelsen looks like even more of a badass when wearing an eyepatch.
The film also stars Milla Jovovich, Christoph Waltz, Orlando Bloom, Matthew Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Juno Temple, and Luke Evans. Hit the jump to check out the images. The Three Musketeers is set to open in 3D on April 15, 2011.

We have two quick release-date stories for you. First up, Summit has set Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers for April 15, 2011. This will put it up against Wes Craven’s Scream 4. As we reported earlier today, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin will join Emma Roberts in the slasher flick along with original stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette.
However, Musketeers has a pretty killer line-up. Christoph Waltz, Mads Mikkelsen, Milla Jovovich, and Orlando Bloom are all playing villains in the film. Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) will play the lead role of D’Artagnan with Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans), and Matthew Macfadyen as the trio of musketeers. [Box Office Mojo]

Juno Temple (Year One) has joined the more-talented-than-he-deserves cast of Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers. THR reports that Temple is in negotiations to play the Queen Consort of France, Anne of Austria. If she signs on, Temple would join Christoph Waltz, Mads Mikkelsen, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Matthew Macfayden, and Milla Jovovich. Temple recently wrapped filming on Dirty Girl, which also co-stars Jovovich.
Temple was most recently seen in Noah Baumbach’s Greenberg. In addition to Dirty Girl, Temple is also starring in the indie films Little Birds (formerly Goodnight Moon) and Jack and Diane.

When two filmmakers try to make the same project, it’s often a race to see which one gets in front of the cameras first. After all, with the abundance of movie choices every week, it’s hard to ask audiences to pay for the same movie twice in the same year – even if the directors and take on the material are vastly different.
As some of you already know, director Paul W.S. Anderson and Doug Liman are both developing Three Musketeer projects. Both are planning to film this year, but it looks like Anderson’s is going to be the first one out of the gate as Summit has just announced it’s picking up domestic rights to the 3D swashbuckler and they aim to release the film next summer! To meet the release date, Anderson will start shooting this August.

Paul W.S. Anderson (Death Race) has received a far better cast than he deserves for his upcoming “contemporary-feeling” 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers. Heat Vision reports that the cast ranges from rising stars to critically-acclaimed dramatic actors. Playing the lead role of aspiring Musketeer, D’Artagnan, is Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief). Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans), and Matthew Macfadyen (Frost/Nixon) will play the three musketeers, Porthos, Athos, and Aramis respectively.

Director Louis Leterrier’s remake of the campy 1981 film Clash of the Titans pays homage to its predecessor in that you have to mock both films in order to keep them interesting. Even if you can somehow get past the forgettable characters, the dull action sequences, and the sloppy pacing, you still have to confront a central conflict that makes absolutely no sense. And may the gods help you if you pay to see it in 3D. By the end of Clash of the Titans you’ll be begging for the simple charm of Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion creatures and Harry Hamlin’s dumbfounded facial expression.

Warner Bros. has released 10 movie clips from director Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans and you can check them out after the jump. Starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Danny Huston, and Alexa Davalos, the film gets released April 2 in 3D. I caught a screening last night and while I probably shouldn’t say too much as there is an embargo, it’s a very fun popcorn movie that moves extremely fast. I think the running time was 1hr. 46 minutes. In fact, if I had one comment to the studio, I would have liked the film to have slowed down a bit as it moves so fast you barely have time to take a breath.
Also, while they wanted to show us the movie in 3D last night it wasn’t ready, as the post production schedule is extremely tight so we saw the normal 2D version. But I thought the film worked in 2D as that’s the way Louis Leterrier shot the movie last summer. Hit the jump to watch a ton of footage from Clash of the Titans:

Warner Bros. has released 41 high resolution images from director Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans and you can check them out after the jump. The reason they went online today is the press junket is in Los Angeles this weekend, so they’ve released all the promotional items. It also means clips from the film will hit the net this weekend, so check back for those.
I’m actually going to a screening of the film tonight and I think it’s the first time anyone outside of the studio will get to see the film. While I don’t know if there is an embargo, if there isn’t, I’ll tweet what I thought. Clash of the Titans stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Danny Huston, and Alexa Davalos.

Last August, before anyone had seen the kick-ass teaser trailer, before most people knew who Sam Worthington was, and when everyone online debated how much money Fox was going to lose on Avatar, I got to visit the London set of director Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans. Going in, I thought the movie was going to be pretty big. But when I got to the set and saw the size and scope firsthand, I realized this was a movie I couldn’t wait to see put together, and I left London excited and impressed by what Warner Bros. showed us.
If you’ve read my previous set reports for Watchmen or Observe and Report, you know I try and avoid writing about spoilers and other things that might ruin watching the movie. But if you want to know what visiting a movie set is really like and what I observed while there, continue reading after the jump:

Last August, while director Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans was filming at Shepperton Studios, I was invited – along with a few other online journalists – to visit the set. While there I was able to speak with a number of the actors and after the jump you can read the interview with Mads Mikkelsen. Even though most of you will only know Mikkelsen from his work in the last two James Bond movies (Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace), he’s a huge star in Denmark (his home country), where he’s been the lead in a number of films.
Let’s just say he’s a great person to play one of the supporting characters.
Anyway, during the interview, Mikkelsen talks about the challenges of making Clash, working with Sam Worthington and the rest of the cast, his look in the film, the original film, and so much more. Hit the jump to check it out:

Warner Bros. has sent over high resolution versions of all the new Clash of the Titans movie posters that recently hit the net. Originally scheduled for release on March 26 and in 2D, WB has moved the release date to April 2 and Clash is now going to be a 3D release. While I have no idea how they were able to get this done so quickly, if they were able to make Clash look cool in 3D, I’m all for it.
As of now, there have been no test screenings of the film, and I don’t know anyone that’s seen the final version. But I was on the set last year and what I saw looked awesome. Look for my set report on the 18th – along with interviews with the cast. Hit the jump to check out the posters in high res:

The first teaser trailer for director Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans has been released and it looks awesome. If you were nervous the movie would be some cheesy remake, think again. The film looks like it’s loaded with action, effects, and some awesome creatures. Also, I love the way the teaser trailer is all music with almost no dialogue. To any of the other studios checking this trailer out…this is how you sell a movie. Check it out after the jump and tell me you’re not excited.

MTV aired a program tonight called “Behind the Screen” and they showed off new clips from “Jennifer’s Body”, “Ninja Assassin”, “2012″ and some behind the scenes footage from “Clash of the Titans”. Thanks to the magic of embedding, you can see the clips after the jump. Take a look:
