In a cool piece from the marketing archives, a 1977 Star Wars making-of documentary has popped up online. The documentary is hosted by C-3PO and R2D2 and they take viewers through some of the behind-the-scenes technical difficulties of making the movie as well as the fan phenomena that arose after the film’s release. While bits of this documentary have been seen in other Star Wars docs, it’s cool seeing this in its own 1970s element. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up as a special feature on the upcoming Blu-rays.
Hit the jump to check out the hour-long documentary. Star Wars: The Complete Saga hits Blu-ray this September.

In order to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, eFX Inc. and the 501st TK Project are auctioning off an autographed Star Wars stormtrooper helmet. The helmet was signed by George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, David Prowse, James Earl Jones, Frank Oz, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Billy Dee Williams, Jeremy Bulloch, and Warwick Davis. As of this writing, the helmet is currently selling for $5,100 and would be worth far more if Lucas had written on it “Sorry for the prequels.”
Hit the jump to check out the helmet and the press release. The auction will run until December 24th.

Sirius XM announced that they’ll launch Star Wars Celebration Radio from August 12 at 6 p.m. EST through Sunday August 15 timed with the fifth annual Star Wars convention, Star Wars Celebration V, which takes place this weekend in Orlando, FL.
Celebration V, which is largely themed around the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back this year, will feature attendees such as Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and many others. The highlight will be a one-on-one interview between Jon Stewart and Star Wars creator George Lucas.
Many of those stars will make appearances on the channel, which will also broadcast live coverage of many of the event’s panels. Hit the jump to find out which channels on your Sirius or XM to tune into and more.

Who would have thought that “Batman: Arkham Asylum, the latest Batman videogame in series which has fallen notoriously short on its trips to home consoles, would come up as one of the best-reviewed and best-selling games of 2009 when it made its next-gen debut on XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3? Well, I did. I watched all the trailers, knew that the story was by Paul Dini, that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy were coming back as The Joker and Batman, respectively, and that this would be the first adaptation to actually take advantage of Batman’s abilities beyond his fighting skills and the darkness of the character’s attitude which sets him apart from all the other big-name superheroes.
“Batman: Arkham Asylum” is better than every Batman adaptation including “The Dark Knight”. Hit the jump to find out why before your brain explodes.
