In case you missed the sneak-preview of footage from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man, you’re in luck! We’ve recapped it for you here along with images from the film thus far. But what you really came here for is the new trailer, which is much better than the previous one, which started by highlighting a young Peter Parker and finished with a “Mirror’s Edge” style parkour run over the rooftops from Spidey’s perspective. We get a nice look at the budding relationship of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy as well as the friction building between Parker/Spider-Man and George Stacy. You’ve got web-slinging, a nod to Parker’s genius through his high-tech gadgets and chalkboard equations and glimpses of Ifans as The Lizard! Much more encouraging.
The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans and opens in theaters July 3rd. Hit the jump to check out the new trailer.

Unless you’re lucky enough to attend a sneak-peek screening of footage from The Amazing Spider-Man, you’ll have to wait another five months until the movie comes out. A lot of promotional material has been released for Marc Webb’s installment in the Spider-Man movie franchise. There was the original trailer last year, a related video game trailer and tons of images. We’re expecting a new trailer and perhaps some viral marketing to kick in this week following the limited preview, so we thought we’d do a recap on the images we’ve collected so far. The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Denis Leary. The film opens on July 3rd. Hit the jump to check out our comprehensive image gallery, and be sure to check back here on Collider February 7th at midnight (the night of the 6th) for the debut of the new trailer.

The Double looks like it could have been a solid spy flick. You had Richard Gere and Topher Grace playing government agents trying to track down an assassin code-named Cassius. Nothing genre-shattering but it could be well executed. Well you know those irritating trailers that give away the entire damn plot? This trailer for The Double blows them all away. It gives you a major plot twist that would have been somewhat interesting if not wholly believable within the context of the movie. It takes you deep into the third act of the film. It shows you pretty much everything it can in a desperate big to make you want to see this movie and now any desire I had to see the flick has been extinguished by this trailer. Great job, whoever cut this.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer/condensed version of the entire movie along with the equally terrible poster. The film also stars Stana Katic, Stephen Moyer, Martin Sheen, and Odette Annable. The Double opens September 23rd.

The Way premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last September, rolled out in a few European countries in the months since, and will finally premiere here in the U.S. on October 7. That means it’s time for the first domestic trailer from Arc Entertainment. The behind-the-scenes hook is the father/son teamup of Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez. Estevez directed The Way, and has a supporting role as Sheen’s son in front of the camera, but Sheen is the clear star. The son is dies in a storm while walking the Way of Saint James, and the father travels to France to collect his remains: “Driven by his profound sadness and desire to understand his son better, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage, leaving his ‘California bubble life’ behind.” The role looks like a great showcase for Sheen, surrounded on his pilgrimage by Deborah Kara Unger, James Nesbitt, and Yorick van Wageningen. The IMDB score is high based on the European release, so this may be a small movie to keep an eye on. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Image Entertainment has released the first images from The Double. The flick centers on a former CIA operative (Richard Gere) who’s called out of retirement and must team up with a rookie FBI agent (Topher Grace) when a US senator turns up dead and bearing the distinctive trademark of a Russian assassin known as “Cassius”. I’m always up for a good spy thriller and I tend to think Grace is fantastic in everything. The film also stars Martin Sheen, Stephen Moyer, Odette Yustman, and Stana Katic.

The first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has gone online. I’m torn between “What was the point?” and “Sigh. This is what ‘gritty’ Spider-Man looks like.” First off: daddy-issues. How original. Second, there’s not a sense of joy in any of this trailer. I re-watched the trailer for Sam Raimi’s first film and while there’s certainly some melodrama and an emphasis on action, you also see that there’s a fun movie in there. I’m not getting that from this trailer. However, I am getting that director Marc Webb has probably played Mirror’s Edge.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. Hopefully what I see at Comic-Con on Friday will be more encouraging. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Rhys Ifans. The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3, 2012.
Comic-Con attendees are counting down the days until they get their first look at footage from The Amazing Spider-Man, but Hall H attendees won’t be too far ahead of the curve. New images from the film will be in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and lo-res screencaps of scans from the magazine have gone online (it’s like low-resolution squared). Director Mark Webb also tells EW that “Ultimately what this movie is about is a kid who grows up looking for his father and finds himself. And that’s a Spider-Man story we haven’t seen before,” which is true. We’ve just seen that story in plenty of other movies before.
SHH reports that the first trailer for the film will be attached to some prints of Captain America: The First Avenger and that the trailer will run 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Hit the jump to check out the lo-res images and the EW cover. Click here for Steve’s recent interview with screenwriter Steve Kloves. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans. The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3, 2012. [Update 2: We've updated the story with more images that are all high-quality.]

Do you want to see images from major upcoming films? Do you want them to be out of context, out of focus, and barely indicative of the movie they’re from? Then you’re going to want to check out some set photos from The Amazing Spider-Man, the tentatively titled Wrath of the Titans, and Men in Black III! Hit the jump!

Finally, the definitive Apocalypse Now! Francis Ford Coppola’s mess of a masterpiece is one of those films worth poring over, examining and dissecting, and this format and new supplements make for a heady package. Martin Sheen stars as Captain Benjamin Willard, who along with a boatload of soldiers (Albert Hall, Laurence Fishburne, Sam Bottoms, and Fredrick Forrest) traverse Vietnam on the hunt for Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando), who’s gone native and Willard’s mission states that they don’t really want him bringing Kurtz back alive. Along the way, they meet a number of different people, including Lt. Colonel Kilgore (Robert Duvall), Playboy bunnies (including Colleen Camp), and other assorted characters, more so in the Redux version, which includes the famously deleted French colonists. My review of the Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure edition on Blu-ray follows after the jump.

Yes, director Marc Webb’s reboot of Spider-Man just got a little angrier. According to Heat Vision, Denis Leary, the popular Rescue Me actor and admitted asshole (seriously, he wrote a song about it), is about to step into the role of George Stacy, police captain and father of main Spidey squeeze Gwen Stacy.
Leary joins a cast that already includes Andrew Garfield as the titular web-slinger, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors (a.k.a The Lizard), Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, and Sally Field as Aunt May. The as-yet-untitled flick is slated for release in 2012. Hit the jump for more on what you can expect out of George Stacy.

With Martin Sheen tagged to play Uncle Ben in Sony’s reboot of Spider-Man, attention now turns to the role of Aunt May. THR recently broke the news that none other than Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field is in talks to take on the prolific role, memorably portrayed by Rosemary Harris in Sam Raimi’s previous Spidey trilogy. While negotiations have just started, one can only hope this casting choice comes to fruition as Field is an incredible talent who would embody the genial heart and soul needed to bring the character to life.
Aunt May is one of the most important characters in the Spider-Man universe. After the death of Uncle Ben she remained Peter Parker’s only familial connection. As stated, Harris provided a stellar take on the character, so Field, assuming she gets the part, will have some tough shoes to fill. Spider-Man is directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) and stars Andrew Garfield (The Social Network), Emma Stone (Easy A) and Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill). The film is set for a July 2012 release. Hit the jump for more web-action.

We recently reported that the roles of Gwen Stacy and the main villain for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot have been given to Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans, respectively. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the next actor to join the increasingly respectable cast will be Martin Sheen who is set to play Uncle Ben. As we all know, Uncle Ben is one of the most important characters of the Spider-Man universe, as he is essentially the one responsible for inspiring Peter Parker (to be played by Andrew Garfield) to stop being such a pushover and suit up as the amazing Spider-Man. Opening September 18th is the latest Jennifer Aniston dramedy “Love Happens”. The only reason I’m willing to give this a chance is her co-star is Aaron Eckhart. He’s a good actor and he’s always been super nice when doing interviews. But if he wasn’t in it…
Anyway, while this genre isn’t my thing, for many of you out there, this is why you go to the movies. And really…who am I to judge, as you probably wonder why I get super excited for any sci-fi film. So if you’re curious, after the jump are 5 clips from the film, along with the synopsis. Take a look.
