A major Paramount document detailing a host of the studio’s upcoming projects may have leaked last night. The e-mail in question provides info on a slew of potential films from the studio including Kathryn Bigelow’s Triple Frontier, Jason Reitman’s Young Adult, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe 2, World War Z, and a whole lot more. Hit the jump for the list along with added notes for what we already know.

Is Paramount making a movie based on Mattel’s Magic 8-Ball? “All signs point to yes.” Is it a movie that seems like a good idea? “Very doubtful.” Deadline reports that the studio is using the ball-you-shake-for-answers (no, the other one) as the basis for a live-action adventure film. Paramount has hired Jon Gunn and John Mann to write a script. Presumably, they won’t have the movie end with someone cracking open the 8-Ball to discover blue liquid along with a metal 20-sided die, and then moving on with their day. Gunn and Mann also wrote the upcoming DreamWorks Animation film, Alcatraz vs. The Evil Librarians because it’s fun when you just throw words together to make a title.
Paramount is also developing Mattel’s Max Steel. Mattel’s Tim Kilpin and Barry Waldo are exec producers.

Though Twilight star Taylor Launter was signed on to star in two upcoming toy movies, Vulture has learned that the werewolf hunk has officially dropped Paramount’s Max Steel to be Universal’s Stretch Armstrong.
After generating huge buzz for his performance, and body, in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Lautner was the toast of Hollywood. He quickly signed on to play Max Steel, based on the Mattel toy, as well as Stretch Armstrong, based on the famous Hasbro toy. Turns out, though, that Lautner and his team weren’t happy with how Mattel was developing their project in contrast with Hasbro. For example, according to the Vulture article, producer Brian Grazer is working to get Stretch Armstrong made in 3D for a 2012 release. That, along with a few other things, led to this decision.
After the jump, read a little bit more on Hasbro’s plans, why Launter seems to have made the right decision and all of the young heartthrob’s upcoming projects.

Apparently if you are a Hollywood executive looking jumpstart a franchise based on a toy line, Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner is your go-to guy. After the immense success of New Moon ($704 million worldwide), Lautner has capitalized on the exposure by signing on to a number of high profile projects including Paramount’s Max Steel, based on the Mattel action figure. Now Universal has announced (via press release) that Lautner will represent malleable plaything Stretch Armstrong on the big screen.
More after the jump:

Paramount and Mattel are teaming with producer Joe Roth to bring “Max Steel” back to life. According to Variety Mattel is hoping to re-launch “Max Steel”, the 12-inch toy line from about 10 years back that never really caught on with American consumers, on American toy shelves. And what is the first thing you need to reintroduce a forgotten toy line? Well, a movie couldn’t hurt…
