We’ve got a couple of casting stories to share this afternoon.  First up, Marion Cotillard is set to lead the next film from brothers Luc and Pierre Dardenne, the drama Deux Jours, Une Nuit (translated to Two Days, One Night).  The Dardenne brothers recently helmed the drama The Kid with the Bike, and penned the script for Two Days, One Night which, per The Film Stage, centers on a woman “who has a weekend to see colleagues and convince them to give up their bonus so she can keep her job.”  Belgian actor Fabrizio Rongione is set to star as Cotillard’s husband in the pic, which will start production early this summer in Belgium.

When last we reported on the Fox Searchlight adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s short story, Animal Rescue, it was to tell you that Neil Burger (Limitless) was in line to direct.  With Burger stepping aside to helm Divergent, writer/director Michael Roskam (Bullhead) is now seated in the director’s chair.  Lehane adapted his own story and penned the script for Animal Rescue, a “crime drama [that] follows a lonely Boston bartender who rescues a puppy from a garbage can and becomes the target of the dog’s abusive and mentally unstable former owner, while simultaneously getting caught in the middle of a criminal conspiracy playing out in his mob-controlled bar.”  Noted animal-lover Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) is being eyed for the protagonist.  Hit the jump for more.

HBO is bringing together a triple powerhouse of talent to head up its pilot script for Buda Bridge.  At the center of the it all is Michael Roskam, who received an Oscar nom in Best Foreign-Language Film for his Belgian production Bullhead.  Roskam is set to write and direct the pilot, as well as executive produce.  Sharing the producer credit is Michael Mann, who partnered up with David Milch last year for the fantastic (but belegured) horse racing series Luck (also on HBO).  Finishing out the trio is Mark Johnson, an executive producer on Breaking Bad.  That credit speaks for itself.

Buda Bridge is a Belgian-set crime story set in a Brussels of the near future.  A woman is found dead on Buda Bridge, which leads to violent crimes and oddities that unleashes mayhem on the capital city.  Twin Peaks: Europe?  For more background on the project and the trailer for Bullhead, hit the jump.
