Comic Con 2011: At the Showtime Preview Panel, Michael C. Hall and company talked up the 6^th season of Dexter; William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum and John Wells teased the second season of Shameless; Morena Baccarin and Howard Shore discussed their new show Homeland. Samuel L. Jackson Confirms He’ll Be in THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER; Says Nick Fury Will Have a New Female Sidekick

At the end of last year, we reported that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) would not be making a cameo in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor.  However, that no longer appears to be the case.  Last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jackson confirmed that he had recently shot a scene not only for Thor, but for Captain America: The First Avenger.  Here’s what Jackson told Fallon:

In the next month or so, I have to do one day on Thor, and I gotta do another day on Captain America, and in April we start The Avengers — the big deal with everybody. Thor and Captain America are pretty much done, but I haven’t done my part in them yet. I’m just connective tissue for them to join The Avengers.

Jackson also said he didn’t know if he would be appearing after the credits like he did in Iron Man.  Hit the jump for what Jackson had to say regarding Nick Fury’s new female sidekick.

On the sci-fi drama V, actress Morena Baccarin plays Anna, the beautiful leader of the Visitors and a Queen born to rule the advanced alien species whose spaceships have arrived on Earth and positioned themselves over 29 cities around the world. To the people of Earth, she appears to be charming and peaceful, as she offers gifts and invites humans to live on her ships under the guise of friendship, but in reality, Anna is cruel and cunning, ruling the Visitors with an iron fist and manipulating humanity in horrifying and unpredictable ways. No one knows her true intentions on Earth – not the Fifth Column resistence, and not even her daughter, Lisa (Laura Vandervoort) – which makes her all the more dangerous.

While at the party to celebrate the ABC portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Morena Baccarin talked about working with original V star Jane Badler this season, the continuing changes in her character, the addition of Marc Singer to the cast and the love she still receives from fans of Joss Whedon’s Firefly, on which she played Inara Serra. V: The Complete First Season Blu-Ray Review

If you’re old enough, you remember the original incarnations of V and V: The Final Battle.  Me?  I used to stay up late to watch them when they were re-run as a child.  I was fascinated by the Visitors and when I learned ABC has rebooting the show, I was on-board for, at the very least, the beginning.  Did I want to stay after that?  Find out after the jump.

I really want ABC’s revamp of “V” to be good. But with the reported problems behind the scenes (the production was shut down to figure out where it was going), I’m less than optimistic the show is going to work. If you haven’t heard, ABC will air four episodes of “V” in November and then it’ll return in March. What that means is, if the ratings are good and the critics are kind, the network will order more episodes. If the ratings aren’t there, this first season is all we’re going to get.

So while I know the show is probably not going to make it, I’ll still be tuning in Tuesday, November 3^rd at 8/7c to watch the premiere. But if you can’t wait till then, ABC has released the first eight minutes and you can watch it after the jump. Judge for yourself. “V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Scott Wolf and Morena Baccarin.

Let me hip you to something about roundtables: you rarely get the chance to ask the questions you want and hear the answers you need.  Thankfully, that was not the case when I got the chance to sit down with Executive Producers Jeffrey Bell and then Scott Peters and Jace Hall and learn their thoughts on the upcoming series.  While I didn’t walk into the room as skeptical as some others, after speaking with the trio, I felt like V is in very capable hands.
