The first image of John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe in the thriller The Raven has landed online. Directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), the film is set in 1849 and stars Cusack as the iconic author/poet who joins forces with a detective in hopes of stopping a murderer who is inspired by Poe’s work. Luke Evans, Alice Eve, and Brendan Gleeson also star in the pic. I’m really liking the Se7en vibe the logline gives and, as a fan of both Poe and Cusack, I’m pretty excited about checking this one out when it hits theaters on March 9th, 2012.
Update: The official synopsis has been sent out. It’s below the picture.

Blige, and Julianne Hough star alongside Cruise in Rock of Ages which hits theaters on June 1st, 2012. Hit the jump to check out the image. News is moving slowly today so you know what that means: a lone new image from director Craig Brewer’s (Black Snake Moan) Footloose remake gets its own story. Starring Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Dennis Quaid, Ray McKinnon, and Andie MacDowell, the film will retell the story of a city boy (Wormald) who brings sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll (but mostly just dancing, really) to a conservative small town. The film hits theaters later this year on October 14th and its first trailer is set to debut next Tuesday, June 21st. Hit the jump to check out the new image. Click here for all of our previous Footloose coverage.

Relativity Media has sent over the first image from Shark Night 3D, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a movie called Shark Night 3D: it features a good-looking girl, in a bikini, trapped in a shark cage, staring at a shark. Capitalizing on the success of Piranha 3D, this film is directed by Snakes on a Plane helmer David R. Ellis and centers on a group of college students who just want to spend a fun weekend partying at a lakehouse, but instead end up tormented by sharks. In freshwater.
The cast includes Sara Paxton (Last House on the Left), Dustin Milligan (Slither), Chris Carmack (TV’s The O.C.), Joel David Moore (Avatar) and Katharine McPhee (The House Bunny). Hit the jump to check out the image. Shark Night 3D hits theaters on September 2nd, 2011.

The first photo of The Hobbit cast has found its way online. With shooting on the film set to begin in New Zealand on March 21st, the image comes courtesy of a press conference in Wellington for which members of the cast assembled. Unfortunately, director Peter Jackson was unable to attend as a result of his recent medical issues. Nevertheless, Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins), James Nesbitt, Richard Armitage, and William Kircher among others were present, leaving us with out first look at much of the cast (albeit not in costume).
To check out the full image, hit the jump. The Hobbit is looking to release its first part in December 2012 and its second in December 2013. Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett, Sylvester McCoy, Saoirse Ronan, and Ian McKellan also star.
With Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot currently filming on location in LA, amateur photographers have jumped at the chance to snap shots of Spidey running around the streets. Just a couple of days ago, we brought you footage of a stuntman in the Spider-Man suit performing an action scene in the street. It appears that this same sequence has been filming for the last few days, and someone finally got a really clear shot of the stuntman in action.
Hit the jump to check out the image. The untitled 3D Spider-Man reboot starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone is set for release on July 3, 2012.
Arrrggghhh!!! May is fast approaching and that means that the latest installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is merely months away from release (and millions upon millions upon millions of dollars, of course). Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits theaters on May 20th in 3D, and a new image from the flick has hit the net. This one gives us a good look at new villain Blackbeard, played by Ian McShane in a pitch-perfect casting move. As you can see, the filmmakers really want you to know that this is 3D, so Blackbeard conveniently points his sword toward the camera.
The fourth film in the franchise is helmed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) and stars McShane, Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush and Keith Richards. In this adventure, Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow sets out to find the Fountain of Youth, but obviously runs into a bit of trouble along the way. Hit the jump to check out the full image.
The first image from the upcoming Judd Apatow-produced comedy Wanderlust has hit the web. Directed by David Wain (Role Models) the film tells the story of a couple who are forced to move out of their New York household when the husband loses his job. With no other options, they set out to Georgia where they plan to live with family, but along the way end up staying in a nudist commune which they mistook for a bed and breakfast.
The film stars Paul Rudd, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Malin Akerman, Ray Liotta, Alan Alda, and Christina Hendricks. Wain co-wrote the script for the film with writing partner (and actor) Ken Marino. The two previously teamed up on the very funny Role Models, and the cult comedy classic Wet Hot American Summer (seriously, if you haven’t seen this movie, do so. Thank me later.). Hit the jump to check out the full image. Wanderlust hits theaters on October 7th. In 2D.

The first image from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has landed online. Featuring stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart engaging in some sort of activity only suitable for of-age, consenting vampires, this first image (taken from an upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly) confirms what those who’ve read the book already know – that, although it will be the former, Breaking Dawn will most likely tread along the thin line that exists between a PG-13 and an R rating.
To check out the full image, hit the jump. In addition to Pattinson and Stewart, Breaking Dawn will also return stars Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick, Ashley Greene, Michael Sheen, and Dakota Fanning. The film, directed by Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters), hits theaters later this year on November 18th.

The first image of Glenn Close on the Dublin set of Albert Nobbs has landed online. In the film, Close plays an English woman who disguises herself as a male (pretty convincingly, I might add) so as to land a job as a butler in 19th century Ireland. In addition to starring, Close is also credited as a producer and co-writer. Joining the five-time Academy Award nominee in the film are Michael Gambon (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I), Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Showtime’s The Tudors), Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland). Rodrigo García directs (HBO’s In Treatment).
Hit the jump to check out the image as well as an official synopsis. Albert Nobbs is based on the short story by George Moore and is currently looking at a 2011 release.
