One of TV's most badass and clever shows, Justified, returns with its fourth season on Tuesday, January 8. This time around, Collider will be doing recaps each week, as well as some other fun Justified related stuff. But before we return to the moral chaos of eastern Kentucky for season 4, let's take a look at where the heroes and villains of Justified currently stand.

Season 2 set the bar incredibly high. The arc of the Bennett clan and the coal mining industry added a lot of flavor and depth to the Justified universe. Season 3 wasn't as deep, but there sure as hell were a lot of twists, turns, and colorful new characters to fill any void left behind in the wake of apple pie moonshine. The playing field expanded too, as we were introduced to Noble's Holler and its seedy BBQ enthusiasts led by Mr. Ellstin Limehouse. More after the jump.

Limehouse isn't exactly a villain but he certainly as shit isn't a hero either. He's more of an "interested party" who enjoys backing the "winning side" - as he put it to Quarles. He exists in that moral grey area that's a playground for shows like Justified. His currency is information and his services include banking and offering a safe haven for anyone who can pay. People from both sides of the law came to him for the lowdown and in the end, his "disarming" of Quarles saved Raylan's ass. Hell, even the renowned racist Boyd Crowder needed Limehouse's ...

TNT is looking to further reshape the television landscape by developing Dean Koontz's best-selling Frankenstein novels into a series and putting a six-episode series order on L.A. Noir, officially returning Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead) to TV. James V. Hart (Dracula, Hook) and his son Jake Hart will script the modern-day retelling of the Mary Shelley mythology for the Frankenstein series. Set in New Orleans, the story centers on a war between Dr. Victor Frankenstein and his monstrous creation, Helios. Each survived a fight in the arctic 200 years ago, but the not-so-good doctor has been busy crafting an army of creatures that answer only to him. The two sides resume their war with New Orleans caught in the middle. Deadline reports that the elder Hart makes his series writing debut with Frankenstein, making him the most recent feature talent to transition to the small screen. Hit the jump for more on Frankenstein as well as news on Darabont's L.A. Noir.

Check out the book description for Koontz' first Frankenstein novel, Prodigal Son (via Amazon):
Every city has secrets. But none as terrible as this. His name is Deucalion, a tattooed man of mysterious origin, a sleight-of-reality artist who’s traveled the centuries with a secret worse than death. He arrives as a serial killer stalks the streets, a killer who carefully selects his victims for the humanity that is missing in himself. Detective Carson O’Connor is cool, cynical, and every bit as tough as she looks. Her partner Michael Maddison would back her up all the way to Hell itself–and that just ...

You may know him as Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter films, but now David Thewlis is set to join another franchise. Thewlis will be a newcomer to Red 2, a sequel to director Robert Schwentke's 2010 actioner. Dean Parisot (Galaxy Queset) is taking the helm this time around, but original stars Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker will be reprising their roles. Other new cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung-hun Lee, Neal McDonough and Anthony Hopkins. Hit the jump for more on Thewlis' character and a breakdown of the roles we know so far.

Heat Vision reports that Thewlis will join Red 2 as "The Frog," a dealer of information. He got his unusual moniker by reportedly poisoning the Kremlin's water supply with an Amazonian frog. The Summit/Lionsgate action sequel will see Willis return as former CIA operative Frank Moses, with Mirren as Victoria and Malkovich as Marvin Boggs. The sequel will have the team battling new enemies in Europe and searching for a weapon of mass destruction. While there is little information on Zeta-Jones, McDonough and Lee's roles, it looks like Hopkins will be playing the villain, a “genius scientist who was locked up in an insane asylum.” I sure hope he's wearing a straight-jacket and Hannibal Lecter mask just for fun.

Produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian, Red 2 starts production later this fall in Montreal with a release date scheduled for August 2nd, 2013.

We’ve got a couple of casting stories regarding sequels to share today. First up, Mike Epps in negotiations to reprise his role as “Black Doug” from The Hangover in director Todd Phillips’ upcoming sequel The Hangover Part III. Original cast members Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis are all set to return, and we recently learned that the debauchery will be taking place in Tijuana this time around. Ken Jeong is coming back for an expanded role in the third pic, and Variety reports that Epps will be another returning favorite. The Next Friday actor didn’t appear in The Hangover Part II, but he was great in his few scenes from the first film so this comes as welcome news.

Hit the jump for casting regarding the action sequel Red 2.

Additionally, Captain America: The First Avenger actor Neal McDonough is in talks to join the cast of Red 2. Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, and Mary-Louise Parker are all reprising their roles from the first film, which centered on a team of retired CIA operatives.

The follow-up moves the action to Europe and finds the group searching for a weapon of mass destruction, but they must first break out the man who created the weapon from an insane asylum. Variety’s report lacks details regarding McDonough’s character, but he joins newcomers Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee, as well as Anthony Hopkins as the pic’s villain. The action comedy sequel is in the able hands of Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot.

The Bandito Brothers, the production company behind the commercial hit Act of Valor have released a teaser trailer for their sci-fi attempt, The Prototype. The story follows a humanoid robot (or a roboticized human) from a government program that goes rogue. As is the case when your superhuman test subjects break free, anything goes in the attempt to bring them down, regardless of how much money you pumped into their creation. The Prototype, written and directed by Bandito Brothers' Andrew Will, stars Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger), Joseph Mawle (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and Anna Anissimova. Hit the jump to check out the teaser.

Check out the teaser trailer for The Prototype below (via Deadline):

Personally, I think the character looks a bit like Hellboy's Abe Sapien decided to try on The Rocketeer's helmet, or a stealthier version of the none-too-friendly bots from I, Robot. That being said, the trailer looks like it could be a fun ride. Comparisons have already been drawn to District 9 as far as themes go (I can buy a line about an individual going through a transformation and all the Kafkaesque complexes that come with it; not so much the racial thru lines, however). The trailer has also been compared to such video game fare as inFamous and the awkwardly similarly titled, Prototype. As you can see from the teaser, there is no expected release date just yet. Do the Bandito Bros. have another winner with The Prototype? What do the rest of ...

Developed by Graham Yost and based on the works of crime novelist Elmore Leonard, the hit FX drama series Justified has proven itself to be one of the strongest written and best acted shows on television. One of the new additions for Season 3 has been actor Mykelti Williamson, as the mysterious Limehouse, a man who knows enough secrets to make almost everyone in Harlan uncomfortable.

During this recent interview about his role on the show, Mykelti Williamson talked about not knowing whether or not he’ll be returning next season, the fun of being kept in the dark about where things are going, what he thinks of his character, how much he enjoys watching the show as a viewer, his favorite scene in the finale, and that he keeps a character Bible of his own potential storylines that he hopes to suggest, should he return. Check out what he had to say after the jump.

Collider: Do you know yet, if Limehouse will get to continue for another season?

Mykelti Williamson: I have no idea. I still don’t know. The way we closed out this last season, which we just finished a couple weeks ago, I don’t know. They leave it up in the air, which is fun. It’s interesting. But, I couldn’t tell you. The way it was done, nobody knows anything. I’ll be surprised to see it. It’s a la Hitchcock, when Hitchcock would give certain actors certain scenes, and then other actors other scenes, and they never really knew what ...

As Marvel’s The Avengers opens in a few short months, it’s time to look forward to the studio’s development slate after the all-star superhero movie. We already know that Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 are the next to go into production, as they’ve (finally) attached a director and a new screenwriter to the former, and the latter has Shane Black in the director’s chair. For now, the release schedule looks like this:

The Avengers on May 4th, 2012
	Iron Man 3 on May 3rd, 2013
	Thor 2 on November 15th, 2013
	Untitled Marvel 1 on April 4th 2014
	Untitled Marvel 2 on May 16th 2014

While the untitled Marvel films have yet to be unveiled, we now might have an idea of what at least one of the films may be, as it looks like Captain America 2 may be going into production by the end of the year. Hit the jump for more.

In an interview with IMDb Television (via JoBlo), actor Neal McDonough (who played Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger) was asked about the Captain America sequel and revealed that he may be donning that bowler cap sooner rather than later:
“They’re planning [to go into production] for the end of this year, because Marvel does one film at a time. So they’re going to do Thor 2 and as soon as Thor has wrapped, they’ll do Cap 2. Hopefully right after that, we’ll jump into Nick Fury because that’s the one I’m looking forward to more than anything.”
If production does ...

The two actors both were featured in the canceled NBC drama Boomtown awhile back, but now Neal McDonough and Mykelti Williamson are teaming with that shows executive producer Graham Yost on his current series Justified starring Timothy Olyphant. EW reports the two actors will play two villains on the third season of the FX drama with McDonough playing Quarles, a Detroit mobster in a sharp suit who comes to Kentucky with visions of becoming a crimelord and Williamson playing Limehouse, a man who lives in a small black town in Harlan County and who will do whatever it takes, legal or otherwise, to protect his holler. The two characters are said to show up pretty early in the season which is slated to begin sometime in January. The show has been praised with some Emmy love, including a nomination for Timothy Olyphant and win for Margo Martindale last month, so here's hoping they keep the momentum in the new season.
