On the CW’s new serialized drama Ringer, actor Nestor Carbonell plays FBI Agent Victor Machado, whose key witness, Bridget Kelly (Sarah Michelle Gellar), has disappeared before she was set to testify in a trial that would send a mob boss to prison. Despite the assurances of her protector, Bridget decides to hide out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister Siobhan Martin (also played by Gellar), only to learn that her sister’s seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she’s trying to leave behind.

During a recent exclusive interview with Collider, Nestor Carbonell talked about how the serialized nature and dark aspects of Ringer really appealed to him, how nice it is to already have viewers interested in and anticipating the series, how much he’s been enjoying working with Sarah Michelle Gellar in both roles, and that viewers will regularly get answers to questions as new ones arise. He also talked about what it’s like to know you’ll always be a part of TV history (as a result of his time on Lost), the experience of playing Mayor Anthony Garcia and working with director Christopher Nolan for The Dark Knight films, and how he wasn’t even given a script for The Dark Knight Rises. Comic-Con 2011: RINGER Panel Recap; Plus Watch a New Trailer

The strange duality of Ringer – reflective of the CW show’s content – that while at once being one of the most highly anticipated of the Fall 2011 TV season (The return of Buffy!), almost no one knows anything about it. So clouded under a veil of mystery and enticing riddles, the only known facts are these: Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a “woman in trouble” who takes over the life of her recently deceased (or is she?) identical sister and then, well… I have no clue, but color me intrigued. Intrigued enough to attend the 2011 Comic Con panel (featuring the likes of Gellar, Ioan Gruffudd, Nestor Carbonell, Kristoffer Polaha and series creators Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder) in the pursuit of answers to just what the hell this show’s about. Choice highlights (and maybe answers) follow along with a new trailer after the jump.

If you didn’t know by now, Sarah Michelle Gellar is making her return to TV on The CW’s new series Ringer. We reported the series pick-up last week along with some clips from the series itself, but now The CW has released an extended trailer that gives us a much better idea of what this show is all about. The series features Gellar as a woman, who after witnessing a murder, goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister only to learn that her sister’s seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she’s trying to leave behind. I’m not entirely convinced this is a must-watch series yet, but plenty of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans will surely want to see Gellar’s return to the network. As for me, The CW has never really delivered the kind of programming I’m usually fond of, but I might give this a try. You can decide for yourself after watching the trailer after the jump.

While recent The Dark Knight Rises casting has focused on newcomers to the production, today we have a bit of news regarding a familiar face.  Variety reports that Nestor Carbonell (Lost) is in talks to reprise his role as Gotham City’s Mayor.  Perhaps this time around, he’ll actually get a real name (in The Dark Knight, Carbonell is only credited as “Mayor”).

Carbonell joins returning cast members Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman.  New faces to the franchise include Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff, and Burn Gorman.  Filming will begin this summer in Pittsburgh.  The Dark Knight Rises is set to open on July 20, 2012.  Click here for all of our coverage on the flick.

Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria Parker, Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace), Peter O’ Toole, and Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) will star in the Mexican historical epic Cristiada.  Variety reports that the film centers on the 1926-1929 Cristero War, “touched off by a rebellion over the Mexican government’s 1917 attempt to remove the influence of the Catholic Church and secularize the country.”  Chronicles of Narnia visual FX supervisor Dean Wright will direct the film from a script he wrote with Michael James Love.  The film also stars Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood) and Nestor Carbonell (Lost).

Nestor Carbonell Henry Ian Cusick LOST

After six roller coaster seasons, the hit television series Lost is coming to an end on May 23rd. Whether all the questions get answered or not, one thing is for certain – the phenomenon will be a part of television history that is always remembered.

Actors Nestor Carbonell and Henry Ian Cusick, two of the show’s stars, recently did press to talk about the very highly anticipated finale. Even though no spoilers could be given, they did reflect on what it’s like, now that Lost is coming to an end. Check out what they had to say after the jump:

And the Title for the LOST Series Finale Is…

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: March 25th, 2010 at 12:03 pm

Lost has had some clever titles in the past.  The first Locke-centric episode was called “Walkabout”, when learning about Kate’s criminal past, the episode was dubbed “What Kate Did”, or the Ben-centric episode, “The Man Behind the Curtain,” which played on the reference to Ben’s fake name when he was first discovered by the Oceanic survivors: “Henry Gale” (Dorothy’s uncle in The Wizard of Oz).  These are just a few of the many clever names that have been pulled up in the Lost‘s 112 episodes so far.

Now the title for the final episode has been unveiled.  For those trying to avoid any and all spoilers about the final season, I’m not sure why you started reading this article.  For everyone else who won’t be bothered by the title (or by my thoughts on this week’s episode and the new season thus far), hit the jump.

The Final Season of LOST Premieres on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 9PM ET

[Obviously, if you've never seen Lost and are waiting until the entire series is available on DVD, stop reading now]

Let the official countdown begin.  In 74 days, Lost one of TV’s best shows will begin its final season.  Starting with a two-hour season premiere on February 2, 2010 at 9pm E.T., we begin (or hope) to unravel the island’s final mysteries: the smoke monster, time jumping, the statue, the temple, the island’s healing power, why the dead appear to the living, and so many other questions.  It’s all come to this and 74 days seems like an eternity and yet by the time the series finale airs sometime in May 2010, it will feel like it was over too fast.

After its two-hour premiere (which will follow the inevitable yet likely helpful one-hour recap show), Lost will begin airing at its regular time slot of 9-10pm ET on Tuesday nights beginning the following week, February 9th.  So grab your constant, blow the hatch, and get ready for the end.  If you’d like to read the press release ABC sent us, hit the jump:
