We’ve been reporting on all the networks’ new fall 2012 schedules over the past few days, with word from NBC, Fox, ABC, and CBS. Today The CW announced their new lineup, and quite a few shakeups are taking place. As far as returning series go, every single show has a new night and/or time except for The Vampire Diaries which remains on Thursday. Supernatural moves to Wednesdays, Hart of Dixie now airs on Tuesdays, and 90210 is set for Mondays. The highly anticipated Green Arrow TV show, Arrow, will air on Wednesdays at 8pm, while Beauty and the Beast will premiere on Thursdays after The Vampire Diaries.
One noticeable omission is the Sex and the City prequel series The Carrie Diaries. That show won’t debut until January 2013. Hit the jump to check out the full schedule for The CW.

In the Season 2 finale of Nikita – recently picked up for a third season, much to the happiness of its loyal viewers – Nikita (Maggie Q) and Michael (Shane West) are trapped at Division, in an attempt to capture Percy (Xander Berkeley), and Ryan (Noah Bean) must convince the President of the United States not to destroy Division until he is sure that Nikita and Michael are safely out of the building. But, when it comes to The CW drama series, things never turn out how the characters expect, inevitably leading Nikita and Percy to the face-off that fans have been anxiously waiting for.
During this recent interview to promote the finale, which airs on May 18th, show star Maggie Q talked about what viewers can expect from the final showdown, the big question that the season ends with, the mind-set of the characters, memorable Nikita and Michael moments, that there will be loss, and what she would like to see in Season 3. Check out what she had to say after the jump, and be aware that there are some spoilers:

On The CW drama series Nikita, actor Xander Berkeley plays Percy, the former head of Division who was usurped by one of his protégés and confined to prison. Never one to rest or waste time, Percy has been using his imprisonment to plot and plan for what’s ahead, which is sure to be explosive.
During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Xander Berkeley talked about how much fun he has playing the fearless thrill-seeker who’s looking to reclaim his power with Division, the challenge of finding the balance in a role that is intimidating and menacing while still maintaining a good sense of humor, and working more closely this season with co-stars Melinda Clarke and Lyndsy Fonseca. He also talked about his other series, The Booth at the End (which can currently be seen on Hulu), that he’ll do a second season of, once he’s done shooting the current season of Nikita. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Continuing to make themselves the dominant force in streaming etnertainment to users, Netflix, Warner Bros. Television Group and CBS Corporation have just signed a four-year deal that will bring all prior seasons of The CW’s current scripted series and future shows to Netflix. That means all previous programming, and anything between now and the 2014-2015 season will be made available to watch instantly by Netflix users. The deal includes all drama series on the network’s 2011 schedule like Ringer, Hart of Dixie, The Secret Circle, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, 90210, Supernatrual, Nikita and One Tree Hill.
All the previous season of The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and Nikita will be available on October 15th while episodes of Supernatural and 90210 won’t arrive until January 2012. As for all the episodes airing on The CW this season, they will be made available in the fall of 2012, before the next season starts. However, any new series that appear on The CW after this point, will be made available through a commensurate window during that current season. Good news for anyone who likes them some programming from The CW and those who are eager to see Netflix continue to dominate the online entertainment market. As part of the TCA Press Tour presentation for The CW, President Mark Pedowitz took some time to talk about returning faces for the Fall, increased episode orders for a number of their already-established shows, the interest in developing other DC Comics properties now that Smallville has ended, and the possibility of remakes and re-boots of previous projects. Here are the most interesting points:
Hit the jump for more of what he had to say.

The season hasn’t even started yet, but The CW has preemptively decided to order more episodes of four of their returning series in spite of the fact that each of them already had a full season order. TV Line reports the network has ordered two more episodes for Gossip Girl and 90210 giving each series a 24-episode season while Supernatural and Nikita each got one more episode ordered for a 23-episode season. Apparently, this is an effort to keep the amount of reruns that show up during the mid-season to a minimum. If Vampire Diaries fans are wondering why more episodes weren’t ordered for the series, the post-production process makes additional episode orders a little more difficult (not to mention expensive). Otherwise, if you’re loving The CW and their ongoing series’, this news should come as a treat.

At this year’s Comic-Con, The CW held a panel for their hit show, Nikita, and it was an absolute riot. They showed a brief teaser for the next season, as well as a music-infused highlight reel of the biggest moments of season one. Oh, and star Maggie Q demonstrated how she climbs up tall guys in the show to knock them out…on an attendee. Yea, things got crazy. Hit the jump to check out my full recap of the panel and a preview of Nikita season two.

The Saturday schedule for Comic-Con has been released, and it looks to be a very big day for TV fans. However, Hall H will be having a fairly light day, with the highest profile panels being Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman and Tarsem Singh’s Immortals. Other films taking up shop in Hall H on Saturday include Francis Ford Coppola’s Twixt, the comedy-fantasy Knights of Badassdom, the animated film Dorothy of Oz, and wrapping things up will be “An Early Evening with Kevin Smith.”
TV highlights include Chuck, Terra Nova, Being Human, Futurama, The Simpsons, Community, Family Guy, American Dad, Adventure Time, Once Upon a Time, The Vampire Diaries, The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra, Grimm (includes pilot screening), Fringe, Charlie’s Angels, The Secret Circle, Alcatraz (includes pilot screening), Teen Wolf, Nikita, Good Vibes, Person of Interest (includes pilot screening), and Mythbusters. The day also includes comic panels with Joss Whedon and Robert Kirkman. Hit the jump for a list of schedule highlights for movies and TV.

We’ve already been given a closer look at the new series hitting The CW later this year along with the complete weekly schedule of all the series, old and new, airing this fall. Now the network has announced their official premiere dates for all their new and returning series for the 2011-2012 season. The new season of 90210 kicks off with a move to Tuesday nights on September 13th at 8/7c followed by the series premiere of Ringer starring Sarah Michelle Gellar at 9/8c. Wednesday marks reality competition night with H8R debuting on September 14th at 8/7c followed by a new season of America’s Next Top Model at 9/8c. Then Thursday, September 15th sees and old favorite and a new series taking off with The Vampire Diaries back at 8/7c followed by the series premiere of The Secret Circle at 9/8c.
Then the next week will have Nikita moving to a new night and timeslot on Friday, September 23rd at 8/7c along with the return of the fan favorite Supernatural at 9/8c. Finally, the following week will mark the return of Gossip Girl to its old timesplot on Monday, September 26th at 8/7c with the series premiere of Hart of Dixie coming afterwards at 9/8c. You can find the full press release after the jump along with a rundown of the premiere schedule. And if you need more information on any of the new series, be sure to check out our previous post from The CW’s upfronts presentation back in May.

With upfronts in full swing, The CW has announced several bits of information regarding its Fall 2011 slate. First up, the good news (for the series’ involved, at least): Nikita and One Tree Hill (which will most likely outlive all of us) have both been renewed for their second and ninth seasons respectively. On the other side of things, InsideTV is also reporting that cheerleading drama Hellcats will not return for its second season.
In addition to its renewals and cancellations, The CW has also announced a number of new shows set to premiere later this year. Most notably of these is the drama/thriller series Ringer which will mark Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to television. Ringer ends up at The CW after being passed on by its parent network CBS who claimed that the pilot didn’t align with its brand (which, for me at least, is an indication that the show may actually be worth checking out). In addition to Ringer, the network also added Vampire Diaries-companion The Secret Circle, medical drama Hart of Dixie, and the Mario Lopez-hosted reality series H8R (which may take my own personal award for “Worst Idea I’ve Ever Heard”). Hit the jump to check out official synopses for each of these new shows.

With director Scott Stewart’s Priest opening this weekend, I recently spoke with the cast and after the jump is my interview with Maggie Q. Since I spoke to her at last year’s Comic-Con about Priest, I tried to ask her new questions. We talked about seeing the finished film for the first time, the challenges of making it, how one of her action scenes got the biggest reaction at the press screening, how does TV (Nikita) compare with making films, and what’s her karaoke song. Hit the jump to watch.

In the vampire action thriller Priest, Maggie Q stars as Priestess, a mysterious soldier who fought to defend mankind from the vicious vampire creatures that threatened to destroy the human race, and then was banished, along with the other Priests, for being seen as too powerful. Spending their time doing menial labor, the warriors who once saved the human population from its most terrifying enemy are now shunned by their neighbors. But, when a vampire attack leads to the abduction of the 18-year-old niece (Lily Collins) of Priest (Paul Bettany), he decides to break his sacred vows and defy orders by setting out to find the girl, with the help of Priestess and their otherworldly fighting skills.
During a recent interview to promote the film, actress Maggie Q talked about playing a character who has sacrificed everything, how she sees Priest as a drama that just happens to have action and vampires in it, and how much she enjoyed working with Paul Bettany and exploring the relationship between their characters. She also talked about how her television series Nikita will have a big finale that will run like a movie for the last couple of episodes. Check out what she had to say after the jump:

Programming for this year’s WonderCon has been announced. This will be my first year attending WonderCon and Steve has informed me that it’s like Comic-Con except you can breathe. While WonderCon may be the less-famous sibling to Comic-Con, it still has some big-name panels for fans. This year, WonderCon is giving over the Esplanade Ballroom to some of the year’s biggest genre properties. Leading the list of films is Warner Bros’ Green Lantern as well as Cowboys & Aliens, Super, The Three Musketeers, Hanna, Priest, and Immortals. TV is also getting some attention with panels devoted to the new series Falling Skies, ThunderCats, and Terra Nova as well as Nikita, Doctor Who, Human Target, and V. There will also be plenty of artists, writers, and other creative folks.
Hit the jump for the full schedule. Wondercon 2011 runs from April 1 – 3rd at the Moscone Center South in San Francisco.
