While the Twilight franchise may be winding down, fans still have one last feature film to look forward to later this year. Director Bill Condon recently posted a brief letter to fans on Facebook in order to explain the reshoots that will take place in a couple of weeks. Condon quickly assuaged any fears of a delay of the theatrical release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 by stressing the technical need for these reshoots; no new scenes or dialogue will be added. Condon also hints that a new trailer will be released soon for fans to “decode,” and calls the first posters for the film “unlike any Twilight images you’ve seen before.” The finale of the Twilight saga, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, opens November 16th. We’ve got a couple of casting stories to share with you this afternoon. First up, the cast for Bong Joon-ho’s (The Host) thriller Snow Piercer has gained yet another stellar actor. In an interview with The Telegraph (via The Playlist), John Hurt (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) revealed that he has joined the cast of the apocalyptic pic. Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, and Jamie Bell are set to star in the film as a group of train travelers learning to co-exist in a new ice age. Production is scheduled to get underway in March, and Snow Piercer is already shaping up to be one of my most anticipated projects of 2013.

A new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 has been released. This trailer focuses on the character Jacob, so we can reasonably expect more character trailers to be released leading up to the film’s premiere. Taylor Lautner is all angsty and pouty in the trailer, pining for Kristen Stewart who’s now been ruined by Robert Pattinson’s seed. Also, Stewart’s sickly appearance is a PSA for anyone hoping to get impregnated by a vampire. If you missed the behind-the-scenes featurette we posted earlier today, you can check that out here.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film also stars Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Jackson Rathbone, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, and Kellan Lutz. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 opens November 18th.

With the fourth installment of the Twilight Saga premiering November 18th, even the ensemble stars are quickly becoming household names. Along with veteran cast members Elizabeth Reaser (Esme Cullen), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) and Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale), newcomers Julia Jones and BooBoo Stewart, who play the Clearwater siblings, rounded out the first panel of talent at Summit’s press room. Earlier in the morning, the group surprised unsuspecting—or, perhaps wistfully suspecting—fans by greeting them at breakfast. The cast appeared genuinely thankful for the Twi-hards’ enduring enthusiasm, and spoke excitedly about the next installment.
Below are some highlights from the press conference. Find the full transcript after the jump.

The first trailer The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 has hit the net. In the first half of the final chapter of the Twilight series, “the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.” Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Michael Sheen, and Dakota Fanning star under the direction of Bill Condon (Dreamgirls). The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 opens November 18. Watch the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think in the comments.

Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), and Nikki Reed (Twilight), have agreed to star in the Bret Easton Ellis scripted Downers Grove. Based on a novel by Michael Hornberg, the story, per the Hollywood Reporter, is about a high school student (Pannetierre) who fears she may be the next victim in a series of murders targeted at graduating seniors. The film, to be directed by Nelson McCormick (who helmed the remake of Prom Night and somehow made it worse than the original), will more than likely feature teenagers in various stages of existential crises who, in an attempt to suppress and quell the emptiness inside, turn to drugs and drinks and sex and extravagant spending and sports and makeup and pills and commercial entertainments and well, anything and everything – as is par for the course with all of Ellis’s writings (see: Less than Zero or The Informers or The Rules of Attraction or Imperial Bedrooms for proof on said matter; and by see – I mean read, as the books are all of superior quality to the movies).

At last night’s Scream Awards, I managed to interview both Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed on the red carpet before the show. At first I didn’t know Nikki Reed was there as the interview started with Rathbone. However, a minute or so in, Reed snuck her way in and that’s when I tried to find out how The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is going. They revealed filming hasn’t yet begun on the final installment, but they both called the script “amazing.” They also don’t know when they start yet. In case you’re not aware, Rathbone plays Jasper Hale and Reed plays Rosalie Hale.
Rathbone also talked about his band 100 Monkeys and how Reed is going to direct an upcoming video for the band. Hit the jump to watch the interview. It’s time indexed so you can watch the parts that interest you:

We first heard that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn would film in Louisiana and Vancouver from our interview with producer Wyck Godfrey. Today, one of the stars of franchise, Nikki Reed, told Hollywood Life she will start filming in “just over a week.” We have confirmed through two sources that the production is currently building sets in the Raleigh Studios at the Celtic Media Centre in Baton Rouge, including Edward’s house. We’ve been told the interior scenes will be shot in Louisiana, while the exteriors will presumably be shot in Vancouver.
Our sources also tell us that Breaking Dawn is not the only movie shooting at Raleigh Studios (we were told the studio is very impressive), as Universal is using the studio for Battleship, and Sony apparently just did some reshoots on Battle: Los Angeles there.

Summit Entertainment has just announced The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 will get released on November 16, 2012. While the studio had previously announced Breaking Dawn would be two movies, no release date had been set for part two. For fans of the Twilight franchise, a fall 2012 release date means you’ll be waiting a full year to see the conclusion of the Twilight franchise as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 gets released on November 18, 2011.
While I’m sure some fans were hoping for a summer release for part two, this makes a lot more business sense. By releasing in the fall, the studio will have plenty of time to use the home video window to sell DVD’s and Blu-rays and they’ll also most likely use Comic-Con 2012 as another opportunity to promote the franchise.

The indie crime thriller Catch .44 has acquired pair of lovely bloodsuckers. Deadline reports that Nikki Reed (The Twilight Saga) and Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) have joined Aaron Harvey’s upcoming film that centers on “three gorgeous female assassins sent on a job that might be their last.” Malin Akerman will play the lead gorgeous female assassin while Forest Whitaker is on board as a psychopathic hitman, and Bruce Willis will play the head crime boss who is the mastermind behind everything that happens.
Filming on Catch .44 is scheduled to begin on July 8th in Louisiana. You can catch Reed in theaters in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and check out Woll on the third season of True Blood which is currently airing on HBO.

To the deafening screams of thousands of fans (most of whom were female, naturally) that had camped out for four days, the stars of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse stepped out at L.A. Live’s Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, June 24th for the film’s highly anticipated premiere, which was part of the Los Angeles Film Festival.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were joined by their co-stars, including Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Dakota Fanning, Bryce Dallas Howard, Anna Kendrick, Charlie Bewley, Xavier Samuel, Alex Meraz and Julia Jones, along with pretty much all of the other actors who have played vampires, werewolves and humans in the films, no matter how small the role. Also in attendance were director David Slade, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, the film’s producers, some of the soundtrack artists (The Bravery, Metric, Eastern Conference Champions) and the woman responsible for it all, author Stephenie Meyer. As most of you know, last week was the big press junket for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse here in Los Angeles. In case you missed our previous coverage, here’s video and complete transcripts of the Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and The Cullen (Peter Facinelli, Liz Reaser, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone and Ashley Greene) press conferences. While you may have thought we were done posting coverage, I’ve still got a few one on one video interviews left to post but I’m saving those till closer to release. Or maybe tomorrow…I’m still deciding when.
But until those interviews get online, I’ve got another press conference and this one is with Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz and Julia Jones. In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Spencer and Meraz are part of the Wolf Pack and Jones plays Leah Clearwater. During the press conference they all talked about what it’s like getting involved in the franchise, how they got cast, what making the film was really like and so much more. Like we’ve done for the previous coverage, you can either watch the video of the press conference or read a transcript after the jump:

With The Twilight Saga: Eclipse getting ready to hit theaters on June 30, Summit Entertainment has released an EPK for the media to use. If you’re not familiar with the term EPK, it stands for Electronic Press Kit. An EPK is where the studio puts movie clips, trailers, generic interviews and behind the scenes footage from whatever movie they’re promoting. With demand for everything Twilight, I figured some of you might like to see the B-Roll and on set interviews with Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, Stephenie Meyer, Bryce Dallas Howard and Ashley Greene.
Also, this weekend is the big Twilight press junket here in Los Angeles and I’m going to attend the press conferences and I’ve also landed some 1:1 interviews. Look for a lot more Twilight coverage in the coming days…
