Summer is only just kicking off, but there’s plenty of viewers who already can’t wait for the fall, if only for the third season of The Walking Dead to premiere on AMC. Thankfully, though there’s months until we see the premiere, AMC is teasing viewers with a behind-the-scenes featurette of the first episode of the third season, already in production. Words like dark, ominous, harder, faster are all tossed around by cast members like Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. There’s also hints and mentions of new characters we’ve already heard about including David Morrissey as The Governor and Danai Gurira as Michionne . There will be a great link behind the camera from the second season finale to the third season premiere as Ernest R. Dickerson is at the helm of both. Anyway, I’ll let the featurette talk about the rest after the jump.

On February 12th, the hit zombie series The Walking Dead returns to AMC. Picking up just where the last episode and big reveal left off, that huge event rocks all of the characters to their core, leading some of them down surprising paths in the last six episodes of Season 2. As some characters get closer, divisions arise and the gang will have to face a new human threat that’s as scary as the ever-present zombies.
While at the TCA Winter Press Tour, co-stars Melissa McBride, Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun talked about the aftermath of what happened at the barn, how difficult it was to lose a cast member that they thought of as family, that the second half of the season will have a lot more action, the challenge of working in 120 degrees with bugs and zombie guts while wearing the same clothes they’ve had on for three weeks, and how they worry about each script being their last, with the constant danger that their characters are in. Check out what they had to say after the jump, and be aware that there are some spoilers.

The final six episodes of the second season of The Walking Dead are set to kick off starting February 12th, and AMC has released a midseason teaser trailer for the upcoming installments. I found the first few episodes of this season to be incredibly frustrating, but the mindblowing final five minutes of episode seven were almost enough to make up for it. There’s a difference between character development and meandering. The teaser trailer is fairly short, but it looks like our group of zombie survivors finally leaves that damn farm.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser. If you missed our recent interview with creator Robert Kirkman and showrunner Glen Mazzara regarding what’s to come in the final six episodes of season two, click here to check it out. The show has already been picked up for a third season, which was recently extended to 16 episodes. The Walking Dead returns on AMC Sunday, February 12th at 9/8c.

In three weeks, your favorite zombies will shamble back onto your TV screen as AMC’s The Walking Dead returns. In the meantime, you can get caught up on all of our previous episode recaps here. We’ve also got a ton of new images from the second season of The Walking Dead, including action shots, character profile images and behind-the-scenes captures. If you’re all caught up on the show so far, feel free to peruse at will. For those of you who aren’t up to speed with the current season, I’d avoid looking at the gallery as some of the images reveal important plot points of the story so far. After their wildly successful first season, the cast and crew of The Walking Dead shambled into Ballroom 20 at Comic Con to thank the fans for their support and share some info about the upcoming season. First to arrive was the creative team of series creator/writer/director/executive producer Frank Darabont, executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and Robert Kirkman (creator/writer of The Walking Dead comic book series) and makeup artist and consulting producer, Greg Nicotero. Next came the principal cast, including Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun and Jeffrey DeMunn. Hit the jump to see what cast and crew have in store for fans in season 2, plus a new trailer.

Interviewers were buzzing with energy at the pressroom for The Walking Dead, eager to get some intel on AMC’s apocalyptic-zombie show whose second season returns October 16th. It appears there is a genuine market for the otherworldly on TV, and AMC has put its own mark on the genre with its penchant for great storytelling. Here, I talk with cast members Laurie Holden (Andrea) and Norman Reedus (Daryl) as well as legendary sci-fi producer Gale Anne Hurd about the new season. In it, they discuss the production of shooting the highway scenes, what sort of romance might be in store, as well as their weapons of choice should they ever find themselves in the zombie-world they portray. After hitting only five screens for one week in its theatrical release, The Boondock Saints has gone on to become on of the biggest cult classics around. Now after a huge fan following demanded a sequel ten years after the original, it appears more of everyone’s favorite vigilantes may be on the way to the small screen. We Got It Covered recently talked to director Troy Duffy and asked if another film sequel could be on the way. Indirectly, it sounds like that’s the plan, but the MacManus brothers will instead return in the form of a TV series. Duffy says, “We’ve been approached to do a possible Boondock Saints TV series. So the fans may be getting a part 3 as a television show. We might be able to pull that off. I actually called both Sean [Patrick Flannery] and Norman [Reedus] and they both said ‘hell yeah, we’ll drop everything.’”
Honestly, as much as I enjoy the original film, I feel like it’s a bit overrated, and I’m not entirely sure a TV series is all that necessary or exciting. I’m sure some die-hard fans will give me some flack for this, but that’s just how I feel. Of course, if the series ends up on HBO or AMC as Duffy anticipates it would need to be in order to allow the rough language and violence, then it might be worth a look.

USA announced today at their Comic-Con panel in Ballroom 20 that a Burn Notice prequel movie centered around Bruce Campbell is in the works. According to Variety, the telepic will follow “the last assignment of [Campbell's] character, Sam Axe, as a Navy SEAL before his retirement.” Filming is set to begin after season four (currently airing) wraps and before the start of season five on location in Latin America. Campbell has long been a geek icon due to his role as Ash in the Evil Dead series, so Comic-Con is truly the perfect venue for such an announcement.

When I was in school, there were two films everyone watched. One was “Donnie Darko”, which gave us a sequel earlier this year. The other was “Boondock Saints”. Anyway, the MacManus Brothers (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus) return to the screen this Friday, and I sat down with them to talk all things Boondock. I learned that you should never accept donuts from Sean and that both Sean and Norman are very passionate about their returning to their roles as avenging angels. Watch the interview after the jump.

I know that “Boondock Saints” has a very strong cult following. I also know that the cool thing to do is to hate on the film (and its fans). I’m somewhere in the middle. I remember renting “Boondock Saints” right before it became huge and not really loving the film, but enjoying the more insane and campy aspects to it. I also remember trying to work in Willem Dafoe’s awesome delivery of “There was a firefight!!” into every conversation for about 2 weeks. Anyway, it kind of blows my mind the film has such a strong cult following. I’m indifferent when it comes to the original film and I feel the same way with the sequel. But I know that some of you guys out are anticipating it. To those who are, you can check out some stills and the film’s poster when you hit the jump.

I was hoping I could get one of the site’s other writers to do this story. Someone who didn’t loathe “The Boondock Saints” as much as I do, but no such luck. So now I have to hate this trailer apart. I don’t want to. I’m always open to the possibility that I may like a movie and that I misjudged the film.
And then one of the characters says “Let’s do some gratuitous violence,” and that pretty much sums up why I think the first movie is awful and why I think the sequel will be as bad if not worse. Hit the jump to watch the trailer and then if you think these movies are great, say so in the comments and I’ll tell you why you’re wrong. “The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day” somehow gets a theatrical release on October 30th.

Movie posters rarely impress me. It’s not that a lot of new posters aren’t well done…I just feel like every style has been done before and I rarely anything new and innovative. So when I saw the new motion poster for “Pandorum”, I had to share, as I’ve never seen anyone ripping off their skin on a moving poster before. Curious? It’s after the jump:
