Extended Sneak Previews for Season Eight of HOUSE and Season Four of PARKS & RECREATION

If you can ignore the annoying woman introducing the clip, we’ve got yet another sneak peek at the eighth season of House M.D., which finds out titular medical genius woefully bored and frustrated in prison. The clip you’ll find after the jump shoes us that House is still very much in the doctor frame of mind and prison hasn’t yet broken that sarcastic barrier he always builds around him. Since this is the first season without Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Cuddy, I’m interested to see how the series holds up, and if it can sustain itself for what will likely be its final season.

Meanwhile, taking a more behind-the-scenes featurette approach to preview what’s coming in the fall, the fourth season of Parks & Recreation aims to deliver in a big way with Patricia Clarkson laying down the law as Tammy 1, Ron Swanson’s first she-devil of a wife who terrifies even Tammy 2 (played by Megan Mullally). Interviews with the cast and crew catch us up on the end of last season (so beware of spoilers), and this season looks to be better than the last. You can find both sneak peeks after the jump.

Watch a New Sizzle Reel for NBC’s Thursday Comedy Line-Up Including THE OFFICE, PARKS & RECREATION, COMMUNITY, UP ALL NIGHT and More

Earlier today, we highlighted an all-new promo featuring John Goodman’s arrival at Greendale Community College on the NBC comedy series Community. Now, NBC has released a highlight reel featuring some pretty decent spots for both new and returning comedies. Along with some more goodness between Goodman and Dean Pelton (Jim Rash), you’ll find some new clips from other returning series like Parks & Recreation and The Office (however I don’t think any of the James Spader footage is new) as well as some promising bits from Whitney starring Whitney Cummings, Up All Night starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett, and Free Agents with Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn. You can check out the video in its entirety after the jump.

THE OFFICE and PARKS AND RECREATION Get Supersized Episodes This Month

As the end of Steve Carell’s run on The Office looms closer, NBC is really giving Michael Scott a proper send-off. The network announced today that the actor’s final episode on the series will be given a special 50-minute episode to allow for a proper farewell. That episode airs Thursday, April 28th from 9-9:50pm (8-8:50pm central time) and will also be followed by a 40-minute episode of Parks and Recreation from 9:50-10:30pm (8:50-9:30pm central time). It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to Michael Scott, but this extended episode should give fans plenty of time to say farewell. And more Parks and Recreation is always good too.

Check Out This Hilarious PARKS AND RECREATION Blooper Reel

It’s April Fools Day, and while we’re not running any fake stories or silly things like that, it doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun. That’s why we’re posting this lengthy, 15-minute blooper reel of flubs and messed up lines on one of my favorite comedy series on right now, Parks and Recreation. The entire cast can be seen screwing up at every turn, and it just goes to show how hard it is to make a comedy series when everyone in the cast is laugh-out-loud hilarious. Hopefully this will give you some laughs and make you a little less upset that ThinkGeek’s Lightsaber Popsicles aren’t real. Damn you, April Fools Day. Enjoy the video after the jump.

NBC Renews PARKS & RECREATION, THE OFFICE and COMMUNITY for Another Season!

Great news for fans of NBC’s Thursday night comedy line-up as the network has just announced three of their primetime comedies, Parks & Recreation, The Office and Community have officially been renewed for another season. Obviously The Office is going to have the toughest time staying alive next season with Steve Carell leaving the show in May, but Parks & Recreation is just as strong as the former mockumentary series was during its second and third seasons. In addition, Community is one of my absolute favorite comedies on TV right now and it’s great to hear that it will be sticking around for at least one more season. On a side note, I’m pretty pleased that Outsourced, a show that is apparently on the bubble, hasn’t been renewed yet and continue to hope that it dies off very soon.

PaleyFest 2011 Line-Up: THE WALKING DEAD, TRUE BLOOD, GLEE, FREAKS & GEEKS/UNDECLARED, More

March is a great month for people who like things en masse.  There’s March Madness, of course, for fans of college basketball.  There’s SXSW for lovers of movies and/or music.  And for the TV geek, there’s PaleyFest.  This year’s line-up features a metric ton of panels for The Walking Dead, True Blood, White Collar, Hot in Cleveland, Parks & Recreation, Eastbound & Down, Supernatural, American Idol, Community, Glee, and Raising Hope.  But the big draw has to be “An Evening with Jimmy Fallon.”  Wait — that can’t be right.

Oh, no it’s the combined Freaks & Geeks/Undeclared panel moderated by Judd Apatow.  Those shows launched more than their share of careers, including Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, and Jason Segel — all official guests.  Freak James Franco isn’t listed, but given how busy he likes to keep, my fingers are crossed for a surprise appearance as one of the “additional members of the casts & creative teams.”

PaleyFest 2011 unfolds March 4-17 at the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles.  Hit the jump to see the full list of panelists.

See NBC’s 25-Minute Midseason Preview with Glimpses of THE CAPE, PERFECT COUPLES, PARKS & RECREATION, THE OFFICE and More

Last month we got word on the midseason premieres for NBC’s new series like the superhero action series The Cape, the romantic comedy series Perfect Couples and the legal drama Harry’s Law. Now NBC has released a whopping 25-minute preview at all of their midseason offerings including a glimpse at some of the final episodes featuring Steve Carell on The Office and the anticipated third season of Parks & Recreation starring Amy Poehler. Honestly there’s no reason for me to talk about it because this lengthy preview video speaks for itself. Frankly, I’m just glad that some midseason series are giving people a much needed break from The Event, so maybe people can stop watching it altogether. PARKS & RECREATION Returns on January 20th with NBC’s New Three-Hour Comedy Block; 30 ROCK Renewed for Sixth Season

by Ethan Anderton    Posted: November 15th, 2010 at 2:23 pm

The New Year is just around the corner which means TV’s mid-season premieres are inching closer as well. Since Outsourced took the much coveted spot following The Office at the beginning of the fall season this year, Parks & Recreation was left waiting for a mid-season return. Now NBC has announced the return of the mockumentary comedy series on Thursday, January 20th along with a whole new three-hour block of comedy on Thursday nights. This is about as close as we’re going to get to another “Must-See-TV” night from NBC even if one of the series has *ahem* outsourced their comedy from someplace completely lacking in genuine hilarity.

Hit the jump for NBC’s new Thursday night line-up in 2011.

Universal Considers Rashida Jones a FRENEMY OF THE STATE

Rashida Jones can add “screenwriter” to her resume. Universal has bought the rights to her comic mini-series “Frenemy of the State.” The comic book is about a young wealthy heiress who works undercover for the CIA, and was announced in late July. Many of you will remember Jones as Karen in “The Office.” She’s been on a hot streak recently, as a series regular on NBC’s “Parks & Recreation” and a leading role in “I Love You, Man” earlier this year. More on the comic deal after the jump.
