In case you want to see more of Piranha 3DD’s cast than just David Hasselhoff, we have a new “making of” featurette for you to check out. The Hoff was recently featured in both a clip from the film as well as a character featurette. This new featurette, while still not a real behind-the-scenes look, showcases David Koechner, Katrina Bowden and Gary Busey talking about their characters and the fictitious lengths they had to go through to bring Piranha 3DD to the screen. If you’re a fan of boobs and blood, or just an amateur icthyologist eager to learn more, you’ll want to hit the jump to check out the NSFW video. Directed by John Gulager, the film also stars Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer and Danielle Panabaker. Piranha 3DD opens on June 1st.

A new featurette for Piranha 3DD has been released, but if you were expecting a behind-the-scenes look at the gore or even the nudity of Piranha 3DD, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Instead, this featurette is a slightly strange look at star David Hasselhoff. We see some bits of footage involving The Hoff’s character (he plays himself), but we’re also lead into the actor’s trailer by Hasselhoff himself. He dons a David Hasselhoff mask and hawks Hasselhoff merchandise, and I’m not sure that he’s being entirely facetious.
Hit the jump to watch the featurette. Directed by John Gulager, the film also stars Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Katrina Bowden, and Danielle Panabaker. Piranha 3DD opens on June 1st.

A batch of new images from Piranha 3DD has gone online, but with a title like that one doesn’t really need much more elaboration in order to decide if the film is up his or her alley. Yes, the images highlight lots of boobs and blood, but we also get new looks at stars David Hasselhoff and David Koechner. Yesterday we brought you a new clip from the film with a nice Baywatch nod, which you can check out right here.
Hit the jump to take a gander at the images. Directed by John Gulager, the film also stars Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Katrina Bowden, and Danielle Panabaker. Piranha 3DD opens on June 1st.

Dimension Films is doubling your pleasure with a second helping of boobs, blood and killer fish in this summer’s Piranha 3DD. For a while now, I thought the extra D was a cleverly disguised breast joke, but apparently it stands for “David,” as in David Hasselhoff. This new clip from the film features The Hoff in his oh-so-familiar role as a lifeguard. Fans of the glory days of Baywatch will get a kick out of the segment and the humor aimed at an aging Hasselhoff is spot-on to what you can expect from Piranha 3DD. Be sure to check out the trailer, red-band trailer, posters and images, as well. The film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. Piranha 3DD opens June 1st. Hit the jump to check out the new clip.

We’ve got a few new posters to share with you today. Briefly:

Dimension Films has unleashed seven new images from the gore-heavy sequel Piranha 3DD. They highlight everything we expect to see from the follow-up to Piranha 3D: good looking girls in swimsuits, Ving Rhames with a gun attachment instead of a leg, and David Hasselhoff. The sequel moves the action to a water park that’s (naturally) kept safe by stripper lifeguards, and I’m assuming much nudity and/or carnage ensues.

A red-band trailer for Piranha 3DD has gone online. Like the first movie, the sequel is all about boobs and blood, but this trailer is mostly about the former rather than the latter. Yes, the trailer has plenty of killer-fishy menace, but don’t expect seeing any gruesome kills. Instead, expect to see lots of bare breasts, and I assume no one will complain about that.
Hit the jump to check out the red-band trailer. The film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. Piranha 3DD currently does not have a release date.

The first trailer for Piranha 3DD has gone online. For everyone who loved the first movie, the new trailer wants to let you know, “All that stuff you liked? The boobs, the gore, the silliness, and all that stuff? Yep. That’s all here. Enjoy.” There seems to be some creative kills in store in addition to the goofiness of stripper-lifeguards and Ving Rhames-Gunlegs. My only problem with this trailer is the notable absence of Gary Busey. Hopefully, we’ll see him and his piranha-related lunacy soon.

There had been some concern that Piranha 3DD, the sequel to the surprise hit Piranha 3D, wouldn’t be coming to theaters. Last month, director John Gulager said there was no need for concern, and that 3D boobs and angry fish were headed our way this year. Now, two international posters have gone online and they don’t look too bad. I would think that including “Double the D’s” in the tagline would mean focusing more on the breasts than the piranhas, but the posters are the other way around. I guess market research shows that fish are a better selling point than boobs. Market research is never wrong.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. The film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. There is currently no release date for Piranha 3DD.

There was a bit of stir when a British website reported that Piranha 3DD would be going straight-to-DVD in UK. The film had already been delayed from its November release in the U.S., so was it possible the movie was going to have a similar direct-to-DVD fate in the states? It would be a remarkably stupid idea to film a movie in 3D and then skip a theatrical release when most folks still don’t have 3D TVs. But director John Gulager has come to put your fears to rest.
Hit the jump for why the release date was delayed, and when we can expect the returns of boobs, blood, and fish. The film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey.

With director Tarsem Singh’s new film Immortals opening this weekend, Collider has been overrun with exclusive interviews with the filmmakers and cast over the past few days. For those not familiar with Immortals (watch the trailer and clips), the film centers on Theseus (Henry Cavill), a mortal who teams up with the Greek gods in order to defeat the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). The film also stars Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Joseph Morgan, Kellan Lutz, and Stephen Dorff.
During my interview with producer Mark Canton, we spoke about the challenge of getting the project made, the comparisons to 300, the practical sets and the 3D, the violence, and working within the budget. We also talked about Canton’s other projects such as the 300 sequel (300: Battle for Artemisia), Piranha 3DD, Freelancers, The Tomb and Emperor – which will be directed by Burr Steers. Hit the jump to watch.

The sequel to Alexandre Aja’s remake of Piranha 3D, aptly titled Piranha 3DD, is on its way, and we’ve got the first batch of images from the follow-up. In the sequel, the toothy amphibians head to a water park to wreak havoc. Judging from the teaser trailer, an adequate amount of carnage/nudity will ensue, and when you’re going to see a movie called Piranha 3DD, that’s really all you can ask for. Along with the first images, we’ve also got a full synopsis for the film. The images unveil David Hasselhoff in what looks to be full Baywatch gear, Gary Busey doing his thing, and a piranha feasting on some young woman’s jugular. Ah, water parks. Hit the jump for the images and synopsis. And here’s the trailer if you missed it.

Fans have been itching to see a follow-up to Zack Snyder’s 2006 battle epic 300 for quite some time now. After years of wondering if and when we’d ever see a return to the blood-soaked, slow-motion infused world of 300, things are finally coming together for 300: Battle for Artemisia. Noam Murro (Smart People) is set to direct, and the film is poised to tell the story of Xerxes’ rise to power, punctuated by the epic naval Battle of Artemisium.
Steve recently got the chance to speak with producer Mark Canton for Tarsem Singh’s upcoming Immortals, and Canton gave an update on the 300 follow-up. He commented on the screenplay, the story, and revealed the chances of seeing some of the characters from the original 300 pop up in Battle of Artemisia. Additionally, Canton talked about some of his upcoming projects, including an epic potential franchise-starter project called Emperor that tells the story of young Caesar. Burr Steers (Charlie St. Cloud) is onboard to direct. Hit the jump for all the details.

I haven’t gotten around to seeing Alexandre Aja’s remake of Piranha 3D, but I heard good things all around regarding its creative kills, delightful stupidity, and all-around exploitative nature. It’s a movie that knows what it wants to be an pulls it off. That general consensus combined with a solid box office performance has led to the sequel Piranha 3DD. The new film has the carnivorous fishies headed to a water park, which aren’t really sanitary places to begin with. Dimension Films premiered the first trailer last night at the SpikeTV Scream Awards and it looks like they’ve definitely got the “DD” part down. Also, Ving Rhames’s character apparently shops at the same prosthetics store as Cherry Darling. I have no complaints about gun-legs.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer. The fish food cast also includes Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. Piranha 3DD opens next year.

New set photos from The Hunger Games, Piranha 3DD, and Gravity have leaked online. The Hunger Games photos show some of the buildings like the Hall of Justice, an insignia that fans of the book will probably recognize (I’m reading the book soon! I have a long plane ride ahead of me!), and a first look at Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket. The Piranha 3DD set photos show the water park where the sequel’s mayhem will go down (how does a freshwater fish survive in a chlorinated water park? Fuck you, that’s how) as well as some grisly corpses. Finally, the set photos from Gravity aren’t really set photos as much as they simply provide a first look at Sandra Bullock with her character’s short hair and bruise make-up.
Hit the jump to check out the set photos. The Hunger Games is set for March 23, 2012. Piranha 3DD opens November 23rd. Gravity currently has no release date, but expect it in 2012.
