We’ve got a couple of casting stories for you this evening. First up, Brittany Snow is the latest addition to the musical comedy Pitch Perfect. Avenue Q‘s Jason Moore is directing the pic, which centers on an all-girls college a capella group that is in the process of rebuilding in order to defeat the rival all-boys group. Risky Business reports that Snow will play Chloe, “a somewhat rigid personality” who eventually finds her place in the singing group. Anna Kendrick stars as the goth-like rebellious lead who joins the a capella team as an escape from her unhappy school life. Bridesmaids scene-stealer Rebel Wilson also stars.

Additionally, James D’Arcy (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) has joined the burgeoning cast of Cloud Atlas. Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Twyker are directing the star-studded adaptation, which they also wrote. Variety has the casting news, but no details on who D’Arcy will play. All the actors involved in the film are purportedly playing multiples roles and swapping gender and races for the character-heavy film. The cast includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw and Jim Broadbent. Hit the jump for a synopsis of the novel. Filming is currently underway in Glasgow, Scotland.

Actress Anna Kendrick (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) is in early negotiations to join the romantic comedy Pitch Perfect. THR has the casting news for the film, which centers on the romance between two members of dueling collegiate a capella teams. If Kendrick signs on, she’ll play the goth-like and rebellious lead who finds the vocal group to be an escape from her unhappy school life. Rebel Wilson, who had a small but memorable role as Kristin Wiig’s roommate in Bridesmaids, is set to star in the film as an a capella group member named Fat Amy. Avenue Q‘s Jason Moore is directing the pic, which is an adaptation of Mickey Rapkin’s nonfiction book of the same name.

Kendrick’s breakout (and Academy Award-nominated) performance came with Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air, and I’ve been a fan of hers ever since. She stars in the upcoming “cancer comedy” 50/50 with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt that opens September 30, and will also appear in What to Expect When You’re Expecting. BRIDESMAIDS Star Rebel Wilson Joins Will Ferrell-produced BACHELORETTE, PITCH PERFECT and ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT

Actress Rebel Wilson, who was great in Bridesmaids as Kristin Wiig’s roommate, has landed a trio of gigs in the wake of the female-driven comedy’s wild success. THR reports that Wilson has joined the all-star indie comedy Bachelorette, which Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing. The film centers on three best friends who are invited to the wedding of a girl they called “Pigface” in high school. Wilson replaces Casey Wilson in the “Pigface” role after scheduling issues forced the latter out. The cast includes Isla Fischer, Kirsten Dunst and Lizzy Caplan as the three girls, as well as scene-stealer Adam Scott. Bachelorette is currently shooting in New York.

Additionally, Wilson is the first person cast in Avenue Q director Jason Moore’s adaptation of the nonfiction book Pitch Perfect. She’ll play a member of a female a capella group named Fat Amy who goes head-to-head against a counterpart from a rival a capella goup (sing-fighting!). Filming is set to get underway this fall in New Orleans. Finally, Wilson is the latest to join the insanely large voice-cast of Ice Age: Continental Drift. The film opens July 13, 2012.
