The Cannes Film Festival has been running for over a week now, and we’ve been bringing you snapshots of some of the sales posters on display courtesy of our correspondent Magdalena (follow her on Twitter). We got a look at some billboards for Django Unchained, One Shot, Spring Breakers and more, and just recently we shared some sales posters for films like White House Taken starring Gerard Butler and Homefront, written and produced by Sylvester Stallone and starring Jason Statham.
Today we’ve got some sales posters of a different sort. They’re not exactly high caliber movies, but after the jump you can peruse art from such gems as Lesbian Vampire Warriors, Zombie Ass, Million Dollar Crocodile, Vampire Dog, Ghost Shark, Dragon Wasps and many, many more. Hit the jump to take a look.

The Cannes Film Festival is currently running over in France, and while the Fest hosts the premieres of such prestige pictures as Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom and John Hillcoat’s Lawless, it’s also a place to sell movies for distribution. We’ve already brought you some billboards and sales posters for Django Unchained, One Shot, Spring Breakers and more, and now our international correspondent Magdalena has sent over quite a few more posters. We’ve got new looks at the Gerard Butler-fronted White House Taken, Chris Colfer’s Struck By Lightning, the drama Love and Honor starring Liam Hemsworth, a film called Homefront written and produced by Sylvester Stallone and starring Jason Statham, and many more. Hit the jump to check out all the posters.

The Dark Knight Rises has been hogging the poster spotlight over the past few days with six weather-themed character posters and today’s hi-res banners, but now it’s Twilight’s turn to be front and center. Three character posters for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 have been unveiled via a fan scavenger hunt (ie. fans did the legwork to uncover marketing material). The posters feature Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner putting on their super serious faces, and the posters all sport the confusing tagline of “Forever” even though Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is the concluding chapter of the series. Nevertheless, fans will get their last chance to check out Brooding Pattinson and Moody Stewart before the two shake things up with the trippy Cosmopolis and a sexually-charged On the Road, respectively. Meanwhile, Lautner is still trying to launch that action career of his.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. The film also stars Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Billy Burke, Rami Malek, and Maggie Grace. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.

We’ve got some new posters for you today with all sorts of genre confusion. Here are the movies in brief:

Yesterday, Warner Bros. released a very fire-y poster for The Dark Knight Rises. I speculated at the time that it might be the final poster for Christopher Nolan’s third and last Batpic, but I am now prepared to eat my hat as six new character posters for the film have gone online. Three of the posters ditch the oh-so-colorfulness of yesterday’s one-sheet in favor of rain and gloom; ah, there’s the Christopher Nolan we know and love. The other three posters involve snow, so hopefully three posters with a beach theme are on the way soon (I can only imagine Bane will be sporting a speedo). The posters are actually pretty cool, and they give us a nice look at Christian Bale’s Batman, Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman, and Tom Hardy’s Bane. For some reason there appears to be a good amount of rocks/debris coming down with the rain, and no one remembered to bring an extra-strength umbrella. Classic Batman.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. The film also stars Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20th.

Wes Anderson’s latest feature, Moonrise Kingdom, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last week to a wildly enthusiastic response, and now us commonfolk are nearing the chance to check the film out ourselves. The film opens in limited release this Friday, May 25th, and a new featurette has gone online in which star Bill Murray gives a tour of the Moonrise Kingdom under the influence of some tasty Sailor Jerry’s. It’s the kind of featurette that could only happen with Murray involved. Additionally, Shortlist Magazine commissioned a number of posters for Moonrise Kingdom that have turned out splendidly; there’s one done in the style of a record that I absolutely must have right this second.
Hit the jump to check out the featurette and posters. The film also stars Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, and Jason Schwartzman.

Earlier today we got our first look at a crazy Matthew Fox in the James Patterson adaptation Alex Cross, but now we’ve got some images of Fox being somewhat normal-looking in director Peter Webber’s (Girl with a Pearl Earring) historical drama Emperor. The film takes place during the days following the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II and stars Tommy Lee Jones as General Douglas MacArthur, the de facto ruler of Japan as Supreme Commander of the occupying forces. Fox plays a leading Japanese expert on the staff of MacArthur who is tasked with deciding whether or not Emperor Hirohito should be tried and hanged as a war criminal
These first images and sales posters aren’t anything mind blowing, but it’s pretty cool to see Jones sporting McArthur’s ginormous pipe. Hit the jump to take a look.

The period crime drama Lawless was on my radar for quite a while given its pedigreed cast and talented director, but the film rocketed towards the top of my most anticipated list with a truly stellar first trailer. Based on the novel The Wettest County in the World, the film stars Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy as two brothers who become bootleggers in the South during Prohibition. The trailer highlighted some truly badass moments for Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman, and I love the aesthetic that director John Hillcoat (The Road) has chosen for this story. A few character posters have gone online featuring a majority of the film’s cast. They’re not the most artful one sheets I’ve ever seen (the photoshop on Oldman is highly questionable), but I’m assuming these will appeal to wide commercial audiences who haven’t yet heard about the film.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. The film also stars Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Mia Wasikowska, and Dane DeHaan. Lawless will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and is slated to open nationwide on August 31st.

Two new posters for director Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man have gone online. Last night we got a look at an extended 4-minute trailer for the film, and I have to admit that the opening scene definitely got me; I think Brendan summed up Andrew Garfield’s performance perfectly when he called the actor “soulful.” These new posters are pretty nifty as well, with one highlighting Spidey’s view from on high and another sporting the film’s unofficial tagline, “The Untold Story Begins.”
Hit the jump to check out the posters. The film also stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The Amazing Spider-Man opens on July 3rd.

Though it’s tough to take director Robert Rodriguez at his word given how many times we’ve been promised that Sin City 2 is “right around the corner” over the past few years, he’s finally making good on two follow-ups this summer: Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. With production looming closer on both films, the first promo posters have now gone online. Rodriguez will first shoot the Machete sequel Machete Kills this month, which finds Danny Trejo returning as the murderous Mexican. Other returning actors include Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba, who will be joined by newcomers Mel Gibson, Demian Bichir, Amber Heard, and recent addition Sofia Vergara. Then, Rodriguez will finally shoot the Sin City follow-up, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Hit the jump for more.

Frankly, I gave up on vampires a long time ago, and it takes a lot for me to get interested in them, and that includes the HBO series True Blood. However, we know that there are plenty of True Blood-thirsty fans out there clamoring for every bit of hype as we lead up to the fifth season premiere on June 10th at 9/8c. Therefore, you’ll be happy to know that in addition to the most recent trailer and teaser poster, we now have a batch of 12 character posters (with Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgard, Stephen Moyer and more) that have so much red on them they would make Shaun of the Dead blush.
Honestly, they’re not all that special, but for fans who have a favorite character (or enjoy seeing Christopher Meloni with fangs), they could make a cool iPhone background or something like that. Anyway, you can check out all 12 of the new posters, along with the most recent trailer, after the jump.

It’s been a little while since we had a porn star update, so here’s a new poster featuring Linda Lovelace. Technically, it’s Amanda Seyfried portraying Linda Lovelace in this new poster for the indie biopic, Lovelace. Splitting hairs. It’s not as provocative as you might expect, but I’m reserving some hope that, as the movie gets closer to release (unexpected pun!), the material gets more and more risque. If that wasn’t the plan, it’s something the Lovelace marketing team might want to consider.
Then again, it’s not all about the sex appeal, since a good portion of Lovelace deals with the abusive relationship between the porn star and her husband, Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard). You can take a look at previously released images, set photos and posters here. Lovelace also stars Sharon Stone, Adam Brody, Chloe Sevigny, Juno Temple, Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, and James Franco. Hit the jump to see the new poster.

We have a couple of new posters to show you tonight in order to give you a break from the relentless superhero news. Take a deep breath, have a quick read, and then hit the jump to check them out:

Last week, Mondo unveiled two stunning Avengers posters for Black Widow and Hawkeye. Mondo, the collectible boutique arm of the Alamo Drafthouse, has assembled (zing!) a series of posters that tie into Marvel’s all-star superhero pic, and today they’ve unveiled posters for Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hulk. My personal favorites of the bunch are either Hulk or Iron Man, though the glow-in-the-dark variant of Thor is pretty damn gorgeous. Frankly, there’s not a bad one in the whole batch.
Hit the jump to check out the posters, and then seethe with envy of those who’ll be able to get their hands on them. Captain America and Hulk will go on sale at a random time tomorrow (Thursday), while Thor and Iron Man will go on sale on Friday. If you thought it was hard to get your hands on a Mondo poster before, I can’t even imagine how quickly your fingers will have to move in order to nab one of these. As always, follow @MondoNews for on sale announcements. The Avengers opens in 3D on May 4th.
