Director David Slade (30 Days of Night) has been wowing television audiences with his work on NBC’s Hannibal, but has now added another feature to his upcoming slate.  Slade will next direct The Widow, a psychological thriller set up for Vendome Pictures.  Written by Ray Wright (The Crazies), the story centers on the meeting between a young woman and a lonely widow which turns out to be anything but coincidental.

THR reports that Vendome expects to start production later this year.  The project is currently out to actresses.  The Widow features two female roles that Vendome CEO Philippe Rousselet calls, “the strongest and most interesting we have seen in some time.”

Overture Films has sent over two new movie clips and six new images from director Breck Eisner’s The Crazies.  Based on the George Romero film,  The Crazies stars Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker and Joe Anderson and it’s about four friends being trapped in their hometown after everyone goes insane.
