AMC’s marketing campaign for the seventh and final season of the fantastic drama series Mad Men kicked off last week with a teaser trailer and poster, and now some gallery images from the new season have been released.  The network is splitting season seven into two halves of seven episodes each, with the first set to debut next month.  Though these images are gallery shoots instead of stills from the new season, they do give us a slight idea of where we’ll find the characters when season seven picks up; creator Matthew Weiner is big on secrecy, so any and all information on what we can expect is basically non-existent.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  The show stars Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, John Slattery, Jessica Pare, January Jones, Vincent Kartheiser, Christina Hendricks, Aaron Staton, Rich Sommer, Robert Morse, Kiernan Shipka, and Kevin RahmMad Men season seven part one premieres on AMC April 13th. Matthew Weiner, Jon Hamm, Jessica Pare, and Rich Sommer Talk MAD MEN Season 6 in New Featurette

by     Posted 1 year, 280 days ago

Fresh off yesterday’s unveiling of a magnificent poster for the upcoming sixth season of the drama series Mad Men, AMC has now released a new featurette for the show.  Though there’s no new footage to scrutinize, we do get to see castmembers Jon Hamm, Jessica Pare, and Rich Sommer talk about what fans can expect from the new season alongside creator/showrunner/mastermind Matthew Weiner.  With season seven poised to be the show’s last, Hamm describes the upcoming season as “like getting almost to the end of a great book.”  Weiner teases a central focus on Don for season six, saying the new episodes will give viewers “a lot of insight into Don, a new dynamic, and people striving to grow up.”  Also, Sommer is rocking some serious late 60s/early 70s sideburns.  This show cannot come back fast enough.

Hit the jump to watch the new featurette.  The two-hour season six premiere of Mad Men airs on AMC on Sunday, April 7th.

Casting Call: Chris Colfer to Be STRUCK BY LIGHTNING; Punch, Odenkirk, and Sommer Join THE GIANT MECHANICAL MAN

by     Posted 4 years, 10 days ago

We have some quick casting stories for you this morning.  First up, Glee star Chris Colfer is set to make his big screen debut in the indie coming-of-age comedy Struck by Lightning.  Producer David Permut (Youth in Revolt) tells Variety that the script (which Colfer wrote) “captures the spirit of movies penned by the late John Hughes.”  Permut plans to attach a director and a cast before putting the film out to financiers next year.  I’m interested to see how this project develops as Colfer is one of the true breakout stars of Glee with his incredible voice and knack for comedy as well as drama.

Hit the jump for news regarding Lucy Punch (Dinner for Schmucks), Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad), and Rich Sommer (Mad Men) joining The Giant Mechanical Man.

Alison Brie Suggests the “Bad Dog” to Rich Sommer and Kathryn Joosten in FUNNY OR DIE Sketch

by     Posted 4 years, 184 days ago

Did you know that every year the U.S. Patents Office copyrights 57 sex acts?  It’s not true!  But it’s a fantastic premise for a comedy sketch and so Funny or Die has premiered episode one of “The Committee”.  In this episode, Alison Brie (Community) plays a woman who’s trying to convince a committee, played by Rich Sommer (Mad Men) and Kathryn Joosten (The West Wing), to give her a patent for a sex act she invented with her husband.  It’s pretty damn funny and Joosten killed me.  The sketch also reminded me of a recent essay by Brie where she writes about being easy in college.  Seeing as I find Brie incredibly gorgeous, I think it’s kind of a must read.

I also think this sketch is a must see and I’m very excited that they’re planning more episodes.  Hit the jump to check it out.

AMC has announced Mad Men will be returning with its fourth season on Sunday, July 25, at 10 p.m.  Since last year, fans have been wondering what the future holds for the workers of Sterling Cooper, as the third season finale really shook things up.  But while everyone is looking forward to the critically acclaimed show returning, the end of Mad Men might be in sight.  That’s because at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas, Mad Men creator and writer, Matt Weiner announced he would not go past 6 seasons – should the series continue to be renewed.   More after the jump:

Vincent Kartheiser - Pete Campbell Mad Men season 3 premiere event.jpg

After a very long hiatus, one of the best shows on television returns with its third season tomorrow night. The show I’m talking about is AMC’s “Mad Men”. So to help promote the new season, AMC recently held a special “premiere” event at the DGA in Hollywood and most of the cast walked the red carpet. While the cast was instructed not to reveal any spoilers about the upcoming season, I did manage to get their opinions on how this season compares to the first two and a lot more. So after the jump are my red carpet interviews with Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell), Bryan Batt (Salvatore Romano), Aaron Staton (Ken Cosgrove), and Rich Sommer (Harry Crane). Take a look:
