New Trailer, Poster, and Images for RIDDICK Starring Vin Diesel

by     Posted: May 15th, 2013 at 10:37 am

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer, images, and a debut poster for writer/director David Twohy’s Riddick.  The Chronicles of Riddick follow-up finds the titular character, played by Vin Diesel, left for dead on a deserted planet filled with predators both alien and human, as bounty hunters once again are out for Riddick’s head.  Clocking in at two and a half minutes long, this trailer shows off much more footage than the first teaser, but there’s not much revealed by way of plot.  In fact, it really looks as though one could comfortably watch Riddick without having seen the first two films in the series and be completely onboard.  With Karl Urban returning, though, one imagines there’s at least a small throughline that connects Riddick with Chronicles.  Though some of the effects are a bit spotty, if you’re a fan of the character and/or the first two films, this trailer promises that Riddick is likely right up your alley.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer, poster, and images.  The film also stars Katee SackhoffDavid BautistaJordi Mollà, Matt Nable, Bokeem Woodbine, Raoul Trujillo, and Nolan Gerard Funk.  Riddick opens in traditional theaters and IMAX on September 6th.

Known as the Acting Outlaws, actresses Katee Sackhoff and Tricia Helfer (who both worked on Battlestar Galactica together) participate in a variety of charity events, in an effort to raise money and awareness for causes they feel strongly about.  With a merchandise store (at www.ActingOutlaws.org) that includes various t-shirts and a documentary of the motorcycle ride they took from Los Angeles to Louisiana, they now have a 2013 calendar that features 12 months of exclusive photos of the women in classy and provocative poses.

During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Katee Sackhoff talked about how the Acting Outlaws came about, what made them decide to do their first-ever calendar, where her interest in and love for motorcycles started, and more.  She also talked about returning to her A&E drama series Longmire for Season 2, which starts shooting again in the middle of March, her experience making the next Riddick film with Vin Diesel, for which she had a nude scene that she needed to get her father’s permission for first, that she’s seen bits and pieces of the film while recording ADR and said that it’s bloody but that the R rating is definitely more for the language, how she’s attached to do the all-female Expendables movie with Gina Carano and that she’s excited about all of the women that they’re talking to for roles in it, and what it was like to work with Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) on the horror film Oculus.  Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Logo Revealed for RIDDICK Plus First Image of Karl Urban Reprising His Role as Vaako

Last month, we confirmed that David Twohy‘s Riddick would be getting an R-rating.  Today, Twohy has announced that he’s hard at work on post-production, and he’s released a look at the official logo as well as the first image of Karl Urban as Vaako.  Regarding the logo, this may not be the logo for the final film.  Productions usually cook up their own logo for the movie their working on, and then the studio will usually tweak it or redesign it completely so that it fits in better with the advertising materials.  As for Vaako, it looks like he won’t be able to escape the blue filter that haunted him in Chronicles of Riddick.

Hit the jump to check out the logo and image.  Riddick also stars Vin Diesel, Katee Sackhoff, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk, Keri Hilson, and Bokeem Woodbine.

After years of work, Wu-Tang Clan member Rza’s writing and directorial debut, The Man with the Iron Fists is finally hitting screens on November 2nd. The film, co-written by Eli Roth and presented by Quentin Tarantino is a cross-cultural mashup of 70s Kung Fu, 90s gangsta rap and 00s comic book logic. Perhaps the film’s strangest element is Dave Bautista, the WWE wrestler turned mainstream actor who plays the heavy, Brass Body, a man with impenetrable metal skin.

Last weekend Collider sat down with Bautista back stage at the House of Blues Sunset to discuss the film. During the interview we talked about Hollywood fame, where Brass Body got his powers, a bit about the new Riddick film and more.  Hit the jump to watch..
