From the creators of Despicable Me comes the animated feature film adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, a beloved cautionary tale of environmental conservation wrapped up in a colorful children’s story. We’ve previously brought you images, trailers and even a Super Bowl ad spot for Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda’s The Lorax, which stars Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Ed Helms, Betty White and Danny DeVito. Now we have eight clips from the movie, which will mark Universal’s third Dr. Seuss feature after How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Cat in the Hat. On what would have been the author’s 108th birthday, The Lorax will land in theaters on March 2nd. Hit the jump to check out the clips.

A trailer is now available for High Road, the fully-improvised comedy by director Matt Walsh (The Hangover). Cast with a ridiculous number of improv comedians at all different levels of fame, High Road stars relative unknowns in the principal roles. James F. Pumphrey (Players) is Fitz, a well-meaning drug-dealer who hits the road to escape his problems and encounters some strange characters along the way. The strong supporting cast features Ed Helms, Rob Riggle, Horatio Sans, Kyle Gass, Abby Elliott, Lizzy Caplan and Zach Woods. While it plays like a mash-up of Harold and Kumar and Pineapple Express, I can’t quite figure out if it’s destined to be a cult classic or a simple misfire. Hit the jump to check out the trailer for High Road.

Universal has released new images from the 3D CGI adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Some of the images show the actors doing their voice recordings. If you couldn’t imagine what Zac Efron would look like if he were in a sound booth and speaking into a microphone, your mind is about to be blown. There’s also an image of the Lorax (voiced by Danny DeVito) playing cards with woodland creatures instead of giving dire environmental warnings. There’s no time for games when the environment is on the line, Lorax.

Writer/directors Tom Gianas (Human Giant) and Ross Shuman (Moral Orel) are assembling quite the cast for their stop-motion feature Hell & Back if you’re a comedy geek. It started off with T.J. Miller and Nick Swardson. Now Rob Riggle, Brian Posehn, and Kumail Nanjiani have joined the voice cast. The story centers on two buddies who must rescue their friend who was dragged into hell by mistake. According to Variety, Riggle will voice a 20-year-old who is finally growing up. Posehn will play an aging heavy metal fan trapped in the 80s (naturally). And Nanjiani will play “Sal the Demon, an employee in hell.”
Corey Campodonico, Eric Blyler, and Alex Bulkley are producing for ShadowMachine, the studio behind Moral Orel, Robot Chicken, and Frankenhole. I am probably the biggest fan of Moral Orel you’ve ever met, and I love this cast and the art of stop-motion in general. Very eager to see this one.

A new trailer and poster have debuted for 21 Jump Street. The trailer only has a small amount of new footage from the last trailer we saw, but the movie still looks great. I was a huge fan of directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and they seem to have brought their oddball sense of humor to Jump Street. Stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum look to be genuinely funny, and the film continues to be high on my most anticipated list for 2012.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and poster. The film also stars Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Nick Offerman, and Rob Riggle. 21 Jump Street opens March 16th, 2012.

A new trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax has gone online. Directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me) the film is based on the childrens book by Dr. Seuss and tells the story of a boy searching for the one thing that will win him the girl of his dreams. In order to find it, he must learn the story of The Lorax, a creature whose world is in danger. This theatrical trailer delves pretty deep into the plot, and it looks as though the film will be taking the story a bit further than the book, focusing quite heavily on the boy’s exploits around town (ie. running from the “bad guys”). I’m really hoping the story’s environmental message doesn’t get lost in the silliness. Things have looked promising thus far, with some great visuals and charming work from DeVito, so I’m optimistic.

In the domestic trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, we got a sense of the romantic angle that directors Chris Renaud (Despicable Me) and Kyle Balda want to take, along with the story of the title character. A new Australian trailer for The Lorax omits the romance entirely in favor of a few new bits of footage. This promo focuses more on the legend of The Lorax (Danny DeVito) and his run-in with the Once-ler (Ed Helms).
The Universal Pictures interpretation of the Dr. Seuss classic will bring the grumpy Lorax to life in “IMAX Tree-D.” The film also features the voice talents of Taylor Swift, Betty White and Rob Riggle. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax opens on March 2, 2012. Hit the jump to check out the new trailer.

The red-band trailer for the R-rated comedic adaptation of 21 Jump Street hit last week and instantly made the movie one of my most-anticipated for 2012. All of the jokes were funny, and you’ll see all of them again in the green-band trailer. It’s almost exactly the same as the red-band, but the swearing has been cut out. However, the jokes are still great, which means the movie doesn’t coast solely on foul-mouthed humor.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film stars Jonah Hill (who also co-wrote the script), Channing Tatum, Nick Offerman, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, and Rob Riggle. 21 Jump Street opens March 16, 2012.

A red band trailer for 21 Jump Street has been released. A remake of the 1980s television series of the same name, the film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as young cops who go undercover at a high school. The trailer is actually hilariously fantastic. The high school flashbacks of Hill and Tatum’s characters are perfect, and there’s a much-welcomed appearance in the trailer by Parks and Recreation‘s Nick Offerman. Hill and Tatum look to have some great chemistry, and in some ways the film actually feels like a spiritual sequel to Superbad. I’m definitely excited to see more. Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs), the film also stars Ice Cube, Dave Franco, Brie Larsen, and Rob Riggle.

The first trailer for The Lorax has gone online. Directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me), the film is based on the classic Dr. Seuss enviromentally-conscious children’s book that centers on a boy who is searching for the one thing that will win him the girl of his dreams. In order to find it, he must learn the story of The Lorax, a creature whose world is in danger. As you’ll see in the trailer, there’s the unmistakable Suessian architecture and it certainly looks colorful enough. But there are little things in this trailer that are making me a bit nervous about the film. The framing device shows a bright and colorful world so the Once-ler chopping down all the trees hasn’t been too much of a problem. Also, while I understand it’s a family film that wants to play up the comedy, I hope the Lorax’s message won’t be diminished by making him a creature of fun rather than a bearer of grave warnings.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer along with ten high resolution images . The film features the voices of Danny DeVito, Zac Efron, Ed Helms, Taylor Swift, Rob Riggle, and Betty White. The Lorax opens in 3D on March 2nd, 2012.

Patton Oswalt is one of my favorite comedians working today and his star in Hollywood is slowly on the rise. After a searing performance in 2009′s Big Fan, he’s had recurring supporting roles on Caprica and United States of Tara. He’ll be seen back in theaters this December alongside Charlize Theron and Patrick Wilson in Jason Reitman’s Young Adult as well as the less-prestigious but probably-funnier A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas. Oh, and his new comedy album, Finest Hour, hits stores on September 20th. Now Oswalt has a starring role opposite the charismatic Johnny Knoxville for an untitled comedy for writer-director Todd Rohal (The Catechism Cataclysm).
The press release describes the plot as “an outlandish yet poignant comedy about a pair of battling brothers who attempt to honor their ailing father by taking a troop of boys on a last ditch camping trip that goes wildly wrong.” As long as it’s no one says “It’s in the vein of Bushwhacked!” I’ll be happy. The flick’s also got a solid supporting cast featuring Rob Riggle, Maura Tierney, and Patrice O’Neal. Rohal wrote the script under the title Scout Master and filming begins this week. Hit the jump for the press release.

Rob Riggle is set to star in the sitcom Lifestyle Lemonaid as part of a new development deal with HBO. The project is based on Nikki Joel’s blog at LifestyleLemonaid.com. The primary subject is Mr. Joel, including posts on “the time he wanted to have a vasectomy, the time she caught him masturbating in the middle of the night during an earthquake, and the time he erased all her TiVo-ed shows because he was pissed she’d gone out three nights in a row without him.” Riggle will play the husband, and according to Deadline, is involved in the development of series with writer Jordon Nardino (Desperate Housewives). Mark Wahlberg and Steve Levinson (Entourage) are executive producing. If HBO does not pick up Lemonaid to series, they will develop other projects for Riggle. More after the jump:

Comedian Rob Riggle is one of the busiest funnymen working in Hollywood these days. Currently filming 21 Jump Street in New Orleans, he’s also done a voice for the Dr. Seuss story The Lorax (due out in 2012), and he has roles in Everybody Loves Whales, based on a true story about whales trapped under the ice in the Arctic Circle, and Larry Crowne, starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. On top of that, he’s the host of the AXE Dirtcathlon, on behalf of AXE shower gel, and he will be doing a football comedy with Adam McKay sometime next year.
During an exclusive phone interview with Collider, actor Rob Riggle talked about his journey from Theater and Film major to officer in the Marine Corps to popular comedian, playing the villain in 21 Jump Street and getting to improvise on set with Jonah Hill, how honored he is to be a voice in The Lorax even though his character is morally questionable, how awesome it was to work with Tom Hanks, who was both his co-star and director for Larry Crowne, and how his humor developed out of the need to diffuse situations when he was growing up. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Director Steve Carr (Paul Blart: Mall Cop) has been handed the keys to the Rob Riggle and Thomas Lennon comedy The Boondoggle. Details on the project are currently sparse, but we do know that it will feature Riggle and Lennon attending a giant waste of time dressed up as a business trip that happens to take place on an island. Deadline reports that the pic is scheduled to begin shooting later this summer. The Boondoggle was penned by Christopher Halvorson and underwent rewrites by Riggle and Lennon. In addition to The Boondoggle, Riggle can also be seen alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in Larry Crowne and is currently shooting 21 Jump Street with Johnny Depp, Jonah Hill, and Channing Tatum. As for Lennon, the man behind Reno 911! can be seen this weekend alongside Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, and Justin Timberlake in Bad Teacher.

It was reported earlier this week that The Other Guys co-stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will reunite for Turkey Bowl, a comedy about that revolves around the annual Thanksgiving neighborhood football game. Somehow left out of that report was Alec Baldwin, the man who co-inspired the project. Producer Adam McKay explains:
“The idea was originally conceived for Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin. Owen Burke, who’s a producer at Gary Sanchez, and I were talking about how crazily funny Wahlberg and Baldwin were in The Departed — how, even though it’s not a comedy, we could just watch them all day long. Burke dropped this idea, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, that’s a movie!’ Then Will heard it and he wanted in.”
McKay revealed more about the project, including a more detailed plot synopsis, why they have to rename the movie (the tentative title is Three Mississippi), and how Jeremy Renner might be involved. Read what he had to say after the jump.
