The Dark Knight Rises has been hogging the poster spotlight over the past few days with six weather-themed character posters and today’s hi-res banners, but now it’s Twilight’s turn to be front and center.  Three character posters for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 have been unveiled via a fan scavenger hunt (ie. fans did the legwork to uncover marketing material).  The posters feature Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner putting on their super serious faces, and the posters all sport the confusing tagline of “Forever” even though Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is the concluding chapter of the series.  Nevertheless, fans will get their last chance to check out Brooding Pattinson and Moody Stewart before the two shake things up with the trippy Cosmopolis and a sexually-charged On the Road, respectively.  Meanwhile, Lautner is still trying to launch that action career of his.

Hit the jump to check out the posters.  The film also stars Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Billy Burke, Rami Malek, and Maggie GraceThe Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.

David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis looks like a radical and welcome departure for star Robert Pattinson, and the actor is already looking ahead to re-teaming with his talented director.  Speaking to French Culture magazine Inrockuptibles [translation by Robert Pattinson Life; link via Bleeding Cool], Pattison says of their next feature:

I’m filming another movie with Cronenberg but I don’t know when he wants to start filming. It’s going to be his first one in France and he promises it’s going to be very strange.

Judging by the trailers for Cosmopolis, it looks like the duo already have strange down pat.  As Pattinson says, he doesn’t know when filming on their next movie will begin, but in the meantime the Twilight star is also attached to lead the thriller Rover with Guy Pearce, and the psychological thriller Mission: BlacklistCosmopolis will soon make its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and will likely hit theaters later this year.  Hit the jump to check out the trailers.

Say what you will about Robert Pattinson (Twilight) but the actor is taking his role in director David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis to heart.  During a recent interview with French entertainment magazine, Premiere, Pattinson offered to do a photoshoot that would recreate scenes from some of Cronenberg’s most memorable films.  The 13 hour shoot featured Pattinson paying an homage to Scanners, Dead Ringers and Videodrome.  Any Cronenberg fan is going to want to check this gallery out, but fans and critics of Pattinson alike should be impressed with his commitment to his director.

Cosmopolis, also starring Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Paul Giamatti and Kevin Durand, will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival which runs from May 16th to the 27th.  Check out our continuing coverage here and hit the jump to check out the photoshoot.

With each new trailer, clip, or image from David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, I’ve become more intrigued and eager to check the film out.  We’ve seen a few trailers teasing the seriously trippy and surreal world that Cronenberg has created, and I’m interested to see Pattinson shine in a role that doesn’t ask him to brood for 120 minutes.  For those unfamiliar with the film, Pattinson plays a successful banker whose entire life unravels over the course of a single day.  These images give us more looks at Pattinson’s character, as well as supporting players Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Paul Giamatti and Kevin Durand.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  Cosmopolis will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 16 – 25th.

Now free from finished with the Twilight series, Robert Pattinson is making some interesting project choices.  He’s got the incredibly promising David Cronenberg thriller Cosmopolis set to open this year, just yesterday he signed on to star as the military investigator who spearheaded the capture of Saddam Hussein in Mission: Blacklist, and now comes word that he’s in talks to star in the thriller RoverVariety reports that Pattinson and Guy Pearce are in negotiations to star in the pic, which centers on a man (Pearce) who “after having his car stolen by a group of men pursues them through the wild and rugged outback.”  Hit the jump for more.

The first trailers for David Cronenberg‘s adaptation of Don DeLillo‘s novel Cosmopolis have been delightfully intense.  The movie looks like a return to the strange and surreal for Cronenberg, and a huge departure for star Robert Pattinson.  For those unfamiliar with the film, Pattinson plays a successful banker whose entire life unravels over the course of a single day.  In advance of the film’s debut at the Cannes Film Festival, the first clip has gone online.  It’s as bizarre as the trailers have led us to believe, and the dialogue definitely seems to have the odd, detached style of DeLillo’s writing.  I’m now even more anxious to see how Cannes reacts to the picture.

Hit the jump to check out the clip.  The film also stars Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric.  The 2012 Cannes Film Festival runs from May 16 – 25th. [Update: We have added a new trailer and two more clips.]

Robert Pattinson has signed on to play military investigator Eric Maddox—the man who spearheaded the capture of Saddam Hussein—in the psychological thriller Mission: Blacklist.  Maddox detailed the search with Davin Seay in the behind-the-scenes book Mission: Black List #1.  Writer/producer Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers) adapted the screenplay; Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire is attached to direct.  Embarkment Films will shop around Mission: Blacklist at Cannes.

After the final chapter of the Twilight saga bows in November, Pattinson will make a hard break from the franchise with David Cronenberg‘s CosmopolisMission: Blacklist sounds like it belongs on the same career path, cementing Pattinson in the adult roles that he always seemed more drawn to.  You know, assuming he’s capable of such performances, and we can see him as more than just Edward Cullen.  Hit the jump for the book synopsis.

Almost a year ago, Summit Entertainment premiered the first promo poster for director Bill Condon‘s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.  So it makes sense that at this year’s show, Summit would premiere the first poster for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.  For those unaware, CinemaCon is a convention put on for theater owners in order to get a look at what the studios have to offer for the rest of the year, and where vendors can show new products for theaters to buy; it’s basically Comic-Con for theater owners.  Besides showing off never before seen footage, the studios often bring the cast and the filmmakers.  Over the course of a few days, Hollywood comes to Las Vegas.

While I’m sure Twilight fans would love to see a great photo of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner on the first poster, it’s just like last year in that it’s just the logo, the date, and info about the website on the bottom.  Hit the jump to check it out and look for tons of new posters and our reporting from CinemaCon every day this week.

Last month, we showed you a brief trailer for David Cronenberg‘s adaptation of Don DeLillo‘s Cosmopolis, which featured a potentially surprising and exciting turn from star Robert Pattinson.  In the film, Pattinson plays a newlywed billionaire who ends up losing his bride and his billions in a single day.  Two full trailers have now gone online, and Cronenberg is the star of both.  Pattinson still looks good, but these trailers show off a David Cronenberg surrealism we haven’t seen in some time.   And judging by these trailers, it’s very good to have it back.

Hit the jump to check out the trailers.  The film also stars Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu AmalricCosmopolis will premiere next month at the Cannes Film Festival.

While the Twilight franchise may be winding down, fans still have one last feature film to look forward to later this year.  Director Bill Condon recently posted a brief letter to fans on Facebook in order to explain the reshoots that will take place in a couple of weeks.  Condon quickly assuaged any fears of a delay of the theatrical release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 by stressing the technical need for these reshoots; no new scenes or dialogue will be added.  Condon also hints that a new trailer will be released soon for fans to “decode,” and calls the first posters for the film “unlike any Twilight images you’ve seen before.”  The finale of the Twilight saga, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, opens November 16th.  Hit the jump to read Condon’s letter.

Domestic Trailer for BEL AMI Starring Robert Pattinson

The domestic trailer for the adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s 1886 novel Bel Ami has gone online.  The film stars Robert Pattinson as an ambitious young journalist who works his way up the social and professional ranks through a series of affairs with influential women.  The trailer basically highlights Pattinson getting his seduction on, then tries to shoehorn in a bit about his character being redeemable.   Call me crazy, but I don’t really find the tale of a liar wooing a bevy of women to be that interesting.  I’m sure Pattinson’s fans will get a kick out of watching his bedroom eyes for two hours, but I’m eager to see the actor stretch his dramatic chops on a project that isn’t focused entirely on sex (or the lack thereof).

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also stars Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci, and Colm MeaneyBel Ami will be available VOD on May 4th and opens in theaters on June 8th.

U.S. Poster for BEL AMI Starring Robert Pattinson

Now that the film has a firm U.S. release date, the U.S. poster for the adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s novel Bel Ami has gone online. It’s pretty terribly done, with Robert Pattinson front and center surrounded by the very photoshopped Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas against an ugly background. Furthermore, Pattison appears to be giving the viewer either his bedroom eyes or a death stare.

Hit the jump to check out the poster, and if you missed it be sure to watch Steve’s interview with Thurman about the film. Bel Ami will be available VOD on May 4th and opens in theaters on June 8th.

Teaser Trailer for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2

The teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has gone online.  There’s really not much here other than Vampire Bella (Kristen Stewart).  I assume there will be explanation for why her eyes are red rather than gold like the Cullens (or is that the whole newborn thing from Eclipse?)  I’m also a tad confused when she says her life had been “ordinary” up until she became a vampire.  Considering her love interests, enemies, and the culture she saw before becoming a vampire, I’m not sure how her life was “ordinary”.  The movies make no sense now.

Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer.  The film also stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Billy Burke, Rami Malek, and Maggie Grace.   The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.
