Late last year we learned that Toby Jones had been tapped to play Alfred Hitchcock in a BBC2 film focusing on the director’s “obsessive relationship” with The Birds actress Tippi Hedren, and today the first image of Jones and Sienna Miller as Hedren has gone online. Julian Jarrold (Becoming Jane) is directing The Girl with Hitchcok biographer Donald Spoto onboard to ensure the film’s accuracy. Hedren has also been in contact with Jarrold and the production, though she recently expressed some concern:

“If I have one reservation about the film it is that I worry they will not portray me as as strong a character as I was – and still am. I had to be extremely strong to fight off Mr. Hitchcock.”

Jones and Miller look fairly excellent as Hitchcock and Hedren, and I’m eager to see the two in action. This isn’t the only film about Hitchcock in the works, as Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho is headed towards production with Anthony Hopkins taking on Hitch. Hit the jump to check out the image of Jones and Miller.

We’ve got a couple of casting stories to share with you this afternoon. First up, Sienna Miller and Brendan Fraser are the latest additions to A Case of You. Justin Long co-wrote, will produce and star in the indie set in the world of online dating. Long plays “a young writer who tries to impress a girl he meets online with an embellished profile, but finds himself in a real mess when she falls for him and he has to keep up the act.” Variety’s report doesn’t specify what roles Miller and Fraser will fill, but they join an impressive cast that includes Peter Dinklage, Evan Rachel Wood, Busy Phillips, and Keir O’Connell. Production is currently underway in new York with director Kat Coiro.

Hit the jump for casting news concerning the next entry in the Percy Jackson series.

Toby Jones to Play Alfred Hitchcock Opposite Sienna Miller as Tippi Hedren in BBC2 Drama THE GIRL

by Ethan Anderton    Posted: December 6th, 2011 at 11:00 am

Toby Jones should’ve received more praise for his turn as Truman Capote in the film Infamous, but Philip Seymour Hoffman and the superior film Capote just got more traction and attention when awards season came around. However, now Jones will get a chance to shine for BBC2 as the UK network has announced the actor will play iconic filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock in a TV film called The Girl. Rather than being a standard biopic, the film will focus on the director’s “obsessive relationship” with his The Birds star Tippi Hedren, who will be played by Sienna Miller (The Factory Girl). Julian Jarrold (Becoming Jane) will direct the film from writer Gwyneth Hughes which also features the acting talents of Imelda Staunton (Another Year) and Penelope Wilton (Downton Abbey) with Hitchcock biographer Donald Spoto also working on the film for authenticity and accuracy. More after the jump.

New Trailer for NEW YEAR’S EVE

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: September 27th, 2011 at 7:08 pm

A new trailer for Garry Marshall’s star-studded New Year’s Eve has been released. This trailer isn’t much different from the first one in that it’s basically a montage of all the pretty celebrities and their separate stories set to pop music, though this new look does include inappropriate Abigail Breslin flashing. If you enjoyed Marshall’s Valentine’s Day, then you probably don’t need to be sold on the pseudo-sequel, and if the February-centered first film wasn’t your thing then this New Year’s Eve trailer is probably more than a little cringe-worthy. It looks like Seth Meyers may be the only saving grace for the brave boyfriends who are forced to soldier through this one.

The cast includes Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Zac Efron, Sienna Miller, Lea Michele, Sofia Vergara, Abigail Breslin, Til Schweiger, Seth Meyers, Jon Bon Jovi, Josh Duhamel, and Carla Gugino. New Year’s Eve opens on December 9th. Hit the jump to watch the trailer.

The first trailer for Garry Marshall’s New Year’s Eve has been released. The follow-up to Valentine’s Day stars every actor ever in the history of acting, whom I can only assume will appear for five minutes of screen time each. The trailer is basically a montage of all the actors making their New Year’s preparations and yearning for somebody to love. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you were a fan of Valentine’s Day it’s a safe bet that this movie is probably your kind of thing.

The cast includes Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Zac Efron, Sienna Miller, Lea Michele, Sofia Vergara, Abigail Breslin, Til Schweiger, Seth Meyers, Jon Bon Jovi, Josh Duhamel, and Carla Gugino. New Year’s Eve opens on December 9th. Hit the jump to watch the trailer.

Paul Schneider to Star in Broken Lizard’s THE BABY MAKER; Sienna Miller Reportedly Joins FREAKY DEAKY

We have a couple quick casting notes to report.  First up, Paul Schneider (Lars and the Real Girl) will star in Broken Lizard’s new movie The Baby Maker.  While Broken Lizard will star and the troupe’s Jay Chandrasekhar will direct, the script was penned by Ice Age: The Meltdown writers Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow.  Per Variety, “Story follows a married couple who fail to conceive after months of trying, prompting the husband to enlist his friends’ help to rob a Pasadena sperm bank, where he made a deposit as a young man.  All of the Broken Lizard members are expected to co-star, with Kevin Heffernan playing the protag’s crazy best friend, who hooks him up with an Estonian master thief, played by Chandrasekhar. Other Broken Lizard members include Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske.”

Why the sperm bank wouldn’t simply give him back his own seed is beyond me.  I’m also surprised that sperm keeps for that long.  Logistics aside, Schneider is terrific actor and it will be interesting to see him play against the Broken Lizard gang.  Hit the jump for some casting news regarding the adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s Freaky Deaky.

Last week we reported F. Gary Gray (Law Abiding Citizen) Jon Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never), and Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown) were the leading candidates to direct the sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.   Well, it looks like Paramount and Hasbro have made their selection and it’s going to be Chu.   While his name might surprise you as you’d think bigger name directors might want to take on the property, Chu is apparently a big fan of Joe and with Never Say Never making great money for Paramount (already over $50 million), the studio felt he was the right man for the job.  For more on the story and how the studio might be recasting some of the main roles, hit the jump:

Sienna Miller to Celebrate NEW YEAR’S EVE

by Jason Barr    Posted: January 6th, 2011 at 10:13 am

Sienna Miller has joined the ensemble romantic comedy New Year’s Eve.  According to The Playlist, the actress has agreed to join a ludicrously star-studded cast that features (take a deep breath): Robert De Niro, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel, Halle Berry, Zac Efron, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Hilary Swank, just to name a few.

New Year’s Eve is being directed by Garry Marshall, who also helmed the strikingly similar Valentine’s Day only a year ago.  Katherine Fugate also returns to pen the film which isn’t so much a sequel as it is a perfectly-timed box office jackpot.  As for Miller, details of her role are currently unknown.  Given the star power she is surrounded with, here’s to hoping she can get a word in edgewise.  New Year’s Eve is scheduled to begin shooting in New York in the near future and will hit theaters later this year on December 9th.

Dennis Quaid Joins BENEATH THE DARKNESS; Sienna Miller and Danny Huston Take on TWO JACKS

by Jason Barr    Posted: December 17th, 2010 at 7:55 am

We have a few bits of casting news for you this morning.  First up, Dennis Quaid has signed on to star in the indie thriller Beneath the Darkness.  Directed by Martin Guigui, Darkness is set in Texas (where it is currently shooting) and focuses on a teen who attempts to expose the deep, dark secrets of a house owned by Quaid’s character.  Speaking of which, per Variety, the actor is set to make a turn as a well-respected mortician (the best kind of mortician, in my opinion).  Quaid joins a cast that features Aimee Teegarden, Tony Oller, and Stephen Lunsford.

Next up, Sienna Miller and Danny Huston have agreed to take on Bernard Rose’s (Candyman) indie drama Two Jacks.  Based on the Tolstoy short story The Two Hussars, Jacks tells the story of an aging film director who returns to Hollywood to earn financing for his new project.  According to Variety, the director’s return is filled with “a series of wild adventures, in which he boozes, seduces a beautiful woman and fights with studio execs, winning the money he needs in a poker game.”  Given that the film spans two generations of one family, the project will also flash-forward twenty years later to focus on said director’s son (played by Jack Huston of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) as he attempts to follow in his father’s directorial footsteps.  No details regarding Miller or Huston’s roles are available as of now.

STARDUST Blu-ray Review

by Germain Lussier    Posted: September 13th, 2010 at 2:55 pm

With the upcoming X-Men: First Class, Kick Ass and his memorable directorial debut Layer Cake, it’s no wonder people forget Matthew Vaughn’s sophomore directorial effort, Stardust. It’s just your average $70 million Hollywood adventure fairy tale starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro and Claire Danes. Oh, and it has Mark Strong, Ricky Gervais, Sienna Miller, Rupert Everett and Peter O’Toole in it too. Yeah, who would remember a movie like that? And did we mention that it’s based on an award-winning novel by none other than legendary writer Neil Gaiman?

Stardust is an entertaining and imaginative film that’s criminally underrated. Maybe this brand new Blu-ray will change that. Hit the jump for more.

G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA Blu-ray Review

by David Kobylanski    Posted: December 1st, 2009 at 11:50 pm

G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra movie image - Sienna Miller as Baroness.jpg

The original toy line hit shelves in the early 1960′s, intended to be for boys what the Barbie doll was for girls. And now, G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA has come out, based on a true toy line. It’s fascinating to see how times have changed so much that source material, toys, can inspire a movie, which itself spawns new merchandising like more toys. Is this for men what G.I. Joe is for boys? My full review is after the jump.

THE MYSTERIES OF PITTSBURGH DVD Review

by Sasha Tandlich    Posted: September 1st, 2009 at 11:13 am

slice_mysteries_of_pittsburgh_movie_image_peter_sarsgaard_sienna_miller_01.jpg

“The Mysteries of Pittsburgh”, based on the novel by Michael Chabon, is about a college grad’s last summer before plunging into the “real world.” Art Bechstein is a clean-cut, good guy on the path to success. One would never imagine that he, of all people, has a gangster father, a fact he prefers to keep secret. Between graduating college and starting a job his dad set up for him, Bechstein has a whole summer to kill. To keep from doing absolutely nothing, he gets a job at the Book Barn, where he sleeps with his boss and does mindless work. One day he runs into an old college buddy who takes him to a party where Art meets Jane, a beautiful, charming woman who, unfortunately for Art, has a boyfriend. After a course of events, Art, Jane, and Jane’s boyfriend Cleveland become inseparable. It’s a bit of an awkward love triangle mixed with a coming-of-age story. Having not read the book, I’ll have to judge the movie without considering its relationship to the novel. My review after the jump:

Exclusive: Rachel Nichols (Scarlett) and Sienna Miller (Baroness) Video Interview G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA

With “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” getting released this Friday, it’s time for my last interview and it’s with Rachel Nichols (Scarlett) and Sienna Miller (Baroness). The interview was done a few days ago at the New York City press junket and we talked about PSA’s, what they think about the posters, their fight scenes, working with director Stephen Sommers, and touring the world to help promote the movie. Sienna Miller (Baroness) On Set Interview – G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA

by Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub    Posted: July 30th, 2009 at 9:16 pm

G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra movie image - Sienna Miller as Baroness.jpg

When I heard Sienna Miller was going to be playing Baroness, I’ll admit to thinking WTF. After all, nothing in her resume told me she could play the lead in a big action film, and I also wasn’t sure she could pull off being a dark haired femme fatale. But when you’re wrong, you need to own up to it, and this is me saying I was wrong. Because two weeks ago I saw “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” and not only does Sienna Miller do a great job playing the Baroness, I don’t know how she could have played it any better. Also, she looked damn good in that outfit.

But that’s getting a little ahead of why you’re here. Back in May of 2008, Paramount invited a few online outlets to the Downey, California set of “G.I. Joe” while the film was still in production. While we were on set we got to observe some filming (set visit coming soon) and also speak with a lot of the cast. After the jump is the interview we did with Sienna Miller:
