“See what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?” This is the type of incomprehensible sentence that results when Broadcast Standards and Practices decide that a particular piece of dialogue is too salty for television. The above example is from the edited-for-TV version of The Big Lebowski, which is included in a clip alongside similar instances from Snakes on a Plane, The Usual Suspects, The Departed, Scarface, Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, Basic Instinct, There’s Something About Mary, Beverly Hills Cop, Casino, Goodfellas, and Wild Things. Now this is just awesome. Someone at penneydesign has imagined what modern movies and TV shows would have looked like as video games if they had been made back in the late ’70′s. While they designed the game covers for a fake system called the CVS 2600 Cartridge Video System, it’s clear the covers are designed for the Atari 2600. The fake games are Batman: The Dark Knight, Cloverfield, James Cameron’s Avatar, Lost, Prison Break, Snakes on a Plane, The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift and Wall-E.
What’s also great about the covers is the way they’ve added fake stickers, price tags and writing. On The Dark Knight cover the writing says:
David & Mary Merry XMas ’78. This is to share! Love Aunt Julie
If you ever played the Atari 2600 or just want to see some awesome fake video game covers, hit the jump.

With the most literal title since Snakes on a Plane and the promise of transporting John Cusack back to the ’80s and on skis again, Hot Tub Time Machine had better bring the funny. And this new red-band trailer for the flick set to open March 19 certainly indicates it will, if you take your laughs the extremely crude way.
Along with Cusack, the movie stars Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry and Clark Duke as four dudes who indeed get transported back in time and find out what they were like in the ’80s. Not to spoil it too much, but the trailer features, among other very funny things, Corddry negotiating with a hooker for a five-way and Robinson sporting an even crazier hair cut than Kid and Play in their prime. And just in case you’re watching it at work, be warned: there are some tits in this trailer too.
Hit the jump to check out the red-band trailer plus a brief synopsis. Hot Tub Time Machine hits theaters on March 19th.
