Director Harmony Korine has been hard at work on his spring break movie appropriately titled Spring Breakers, and we’ve been bringing you plenty of images of the bikini-clad cast over the past few weeks.  The film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine as four college girls who rob a fast food joint in order to pay for their spring break.  They get busted, but a drug dealer played by James Franco bails them out and convinces them to kill his nemesis.  It’s fairly ridiculous premise, but what more could we expect from the director of Trash Humpers?

Not only do these images show off Franco’s latest character creation in all his cornrowed glory, but we also get a, um, nice official image of the core actresses in their fabric-light costumes.  Hit the jump to check out the images.  If you missed any of the other bikini-filled images we posted previously, click here and here.

It’s the time of year when many students are dreading their approaching finals while longing for the days of Spring Break.  For director Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, every day is a party. We previously brought you set photos of the cast in their beach attire.  You’ll probably be happy to know that Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine continued to prance around St. Petersburg, FL in their bikinis under the guise of filming a Spring Break movie. (The presence of James Franco is probably a red-herring.) Either way, we have a new video interview for you to check out which features some of the cast and a good deal of behind-the-scenes footage.  Additionally, I’ve pain-stakingly put together a gallery of some Spring Breakers images that I think you will find enjoyable. The things I do for you people.

Hit the jump to check out the new footage in the video interview and a slew of set photos from Spring Breakers.

A Look at James Franco Alongside a Half-Naked Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens in SPRING BREAKERS

It is tough being James Franco (Pineapple Express). The poor guy has to spend time in Florida with the likes of Selena Gomez (Monte Carlo), Vanessa Hudgens (Sucker Punch), Rachel Korine (Trash Humpers) and Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars) running around barely clothed. While the following images simply look like some paparazzi shots of Hollywood celebs on Spring Break, the cast is actually shooting the aptly named Spring Breakers. The latest feature from director Harmony Korine (Gummo), Spring Breakers follows four college girls who rob a fast food joint so can they afford to go on spring break in Florida.  When the girls invariably get arrested, they’re bailed out by Franco’s character, “Alien, a rapping drug and arms dealer who bails them out and entices them to kill his arch-rival, a murderer who is appropriately named Arch.” Hit the jump to see Franco and the girls going wild.

Cinematographer Janusz Kaminski Talks WAR HORSE, Film vs. Digital, Harmony Korine’s SPRING BREAKERS, and More

Janusz Kaminski WAR HORSE Interview slice

If you’re a film nerd, you immediately recognize the name Janusz Kaminski. That’s because as the director of photography on The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, War of the Worlds, Jerry Maguire, Saving Private Ryan, Munich, Schindler’s List, Catch Me If You Can, and so many other great movies, Kaminski has clearly demonstrated that he’s one of the best cinematographers in the world. So when I was offered the chance to interview him at the New York City press junket for director Steven Spielberg‘s fantastic new movie, War Horse, I jumped at the chance.

During the interview he talked about how he picks his projects, if the location where a movie is being made influences him, his thoughts on film vs. digital, the difficulty of setting up a scene when a horse is a major character, and I tried to get him to talk about Lincoln.  However, while he wouldn’t say much on Lincoln, he did say his next project will be Harmony Korine‘s Spring Breakers.  Hit the jump to watch.

James Franco Joins Indie Flick SPRING BREAKERS; Emma Roberts May Co-Star [UPDATED]

James Franco has signed on to Harmony Korine‘s indie film Spring Breakers.  The plot centers on four college girls who rob a fast food joint so they afford to go on spring break in Florida.  To shock of no one, the idiotic plan fails and the girls get arrested.  They’re bailed out by Franco’s character, “Alien, a rapping drug and arms dealer who bails them out and entices them to kill his arch-rival, a murderer who is appropriately named Arch.” Variety adds that Emma Roberts is in talks to play one of the co-eds, “Candy, a southern brunette who feeds off danger.” If the plot doesn’t devolve into an over-stylized quirk pile, Spring Breakers sounds like it could be a fun little flick.  Franco will shoot his part over the course of two weeks during spring break in Florida.

Franco recently dropped out of The Iceman, and is currently shooting on Sam Raimi‘s blockbuster Wizard of Oz prequel/re-imagining, Oz, The Great and Powerful.  He’ll next be seen in the indies Maladies, The Stare, and Cherry.  He’s also expected to star in Seth Rogen‘s directorial debut, The Apocalypse (formerly Seth and Jay vs. The Apocalypse). [Update: Variety has updated their story to add that Disney Channel alums Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez are also in talks to join the cast.]
