On Super Bowl Sunday, we brought you the official TV spot for Super 8. Apparently, J.J. Abrams didn’t think that it generated enough hype, as hours later he revealed some tidbits about the film. Since its unveiling just a few short days ago, Abrams-fanatics have been busy tearing apart the recent trailer and feasting on the delicious Easter eggs hidden within. (A similar technique was used on Super 8’s teaser trailer last year, which led fans to a website featuring the “scariest thing I ever saw.”)

But it seems there is more than one version of Super 8’s trailer surfacing on TV and the net. Sharp-eyed viewers have noticed that the trailers’ final sequence shows a series of images flashing on the lens of the Super 8 camera. When put together like puzzle pieces, the images form some disturbing scenes that may be clues to what Super 8 is all about.  Hit the jump to check them out.

During tonight’s Super Bowl, a bunch of commercials for upcoming movies were shown.  In case you missed the game, they showed ads for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, Joe Johnston’s The Wolfman, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, Mike Newell’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, The Crazies, Antoine Fuqua’s Brooklyn’s Finest, and M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender.  If you missed the game or just want to rewatch the ads, they’re all after the jump, along with the synopses.

When you’re spending millions of dollars to advertise your movie during the Super Bowl, it makes sense to try and get as much exposure as you can.  That’s why most of the studios are releasing their ads early, so people like me will post it on their website and give them extra bang for their buck.   Well played studios….well played.

As most of you already know, director Ridley Scott has teamed up with Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett to make his version of Robin Hood.  While the story of Robin Hood has been told many times, I’m still extremely excited to see what this team has put together as I love Gladiator and this looks like it’s cut from the same cloth. Hit the jump and watch the commercial.  Robin Hood will steal your money on May 14.
