We’ve been reporting on all the networks’ new fall 2012 schedules over the past few days, with word from NBC, Fox, ABC, and CBS. Today The CW announced their new lineup, and quite a few shakeups are taking place. As far as returning series go, every single show has a new night and/or time except for The Vampire Diaries which remains on Thursday. Supernatural moves to Wednesdays, Hart of Dixie now airs on Tuesdays, and 90210 is set for Mondays. The highly anticipated Green Arrow TV show, Arrow, will air on Wednesdays at 8pm, while Beauty and the Beast will premiere on Thursdays after The Vampire Diaries.
One noticeable omission is the Sex and the City prequel series The Carrie Diaries. That show won’t debut until January 2013. Hit the jump to check out the full schedule for The CW.

The CW Network has renewed station standout The Vampire Diaries, along with fan-favorites Supernatural and 90210; all three series will return for the 2012-2013 season. The Vampire Diaries, starring Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, returns for its fourth season. The long-running Supernatural, starring Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Jim Beaver will kick-off its eighth season, while Beverly Hills socialites Shenae Grimes, Tristan Wilds and AnnaLynne McCord return for the fifth season of 90210. Hit the jump to read the press release.

At the end of Season 6, on The CW drama Supernatural, fallen angel Castiel (Misha Collins) made a deal with the King of Hell to find the door to Purgatory and open it. In return, and against the warnings of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), he now harnesses the power of all monster souls after absorbing them, making him God-like. With no idea of how to stop Castiel, Season 7 finds everyone’s favorite demon hunters reeling from the loss of their friend, as they realize they are about to face an enemy more shrewd and adaptable than any they’ve ever fought.
During a recent interview, actor Misha Collins talked about the evolution of Castiel over the seasons, how being God is not all it’s cracked up to be, that he first learned Castiel was heading down this road at the end of Season 5, and how much he’s enjoyed working with co-star Mark Sheppard. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Two worlds of superfans are on the verge of collision as Buffy the Vampire Slayer series alums Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters will both guest star in the fifth episode of the seventh season of Supernatural. The episode, titled “Shut Up, Dr. Phil,” will see the two playing husband and wife but obviously with a supernatural twist. Carpenter will play a witch on a rampage after Marsters’ character wrongs her in some way. Showrunner Sera Gamble describes their dynamic rather dramatically to TV Line:
“This episode is Bewitched gone wrong. [It was] all upside for this successful man while he was married to the witch, but now that he’s pissed her off, the whole town is paying the price.”
Sounds like it should be quite a fun reunion for Buffy fans, and a bit of a role reversal for the stars since Marsters played a vampire on the series, while Carpenter played a slayer. The new season of Supernatural starts Friday, September 23rd.

As part of the TCA Press Tour presentation for The CW, President Mark Pedowitz took some time to talk about returning faces for the Fall, increased episode orders for a number of their already-established shows, the interest in developing other DC Comics properties now that Smallville has ended, and the possibility of remakes and re-boots of previous projects. Here are the most interesting points:

The season hasn’t even started yet, but The CW has preemptively decided to order more episodes of four of their returning series in spite of the fact that each of them already had a full season order. TV Line reports the network has ordered two more episodes for Gossip Girl and 90210 giving each series a 24-episode season while Supernatural and Nikita each got one more episode ordered for a 23-episode season. Apparently, this is an effort to keep the amount of reruns that show up during the mid-season to a minimum. If Vampire Diaries fans are wondering why more episodes weren’t ordered for the series, the post-production process makes additional episode orders a little more difficult (not to mention expensive). Otherwise, if you’re loving The CW and their ongoing series’, this news should come as a treat.

Having finished six seasons and already at work on their seventh, Supernatural is no stranger to Comic-Con, but this year Ballroom 20 would not be enough to hold them. For the first time ever, Supernatural’s panel was hosted in Hall H, with fans filling up the giant hall to scream and cheer for there favorite monster hunting brothers. Moderated by IGN’s Eric Goldman, the panel consisted of writer and showrunner Sera Gamble, writer Ben Edlund, Jensen Ackles (Dean), Jared Padalecki (Sam), Misha Collins (Castiel), Jim Beaver (Bobby Singer), and Mark Sheppard (Crowley). Warner Bros. Studios is having a very busy week, but not so busy as to forget a little thing called Comic-Con 2011. Warner Bros. Entertainment will once again be teaming up with the con to sponsor the “Comic-Con International: San Diego Official Bag.” The more than 130,000 bags (available to badge-holders upon check in) will feature official Comic-Con art on one side and one of 10 franchises in the WB/DC universe on the other. Featured titles include Batman: Arkham City, ThunderCats and Fringe. Hit the jump to check them out!
To prevent your arms from getting tired from hauling all your swag around, this year the bags will turn you into a walking advertisement double as backpacks! Personally, I’m willing to stab a guy in the eye for a ThunderCats bag. Knowing my luck, I’ll get The Vampire Diaries. If you guys hear about some black market bag trading going on, be sure to let me know.

With the end of the TV season winding down, there’s no time like the present to get fans excited for the next season. The CW is doing just that with their recent announcement to renew four of their scripted series for another season. The Vampire Diairies, the fan favorite Supernatural, the remade 90210 and Gossip Girl have all been given another season on the network. Apparently all of the series have been turning in great ratings and that’s always good. Oh, and if anyone cares, America’s Next Top Model has also been renewed for another season, but that’s just not our cup of tea.

March is a great month for people who like things en masse. There’s March Madness, of course, for fans of college basketball. There’s SXSW for lovers of movies and/or music. And for the TV geek, there’s PaleyFest. This year’s line-up features a metric ton of panels for The Walking Dead, True Blood, White Collar, Hot in Cleveland, Parks & Recreation, Eastbound & Down, Supernatural, American Idol, Community, Glee, and Raising Hope. But the big draw has to be “An Evening with Jimmy Fallon.” Wait — that can’t be right.
Oh, no it’s the combined Freaks & Geeks/Undeclared panel moderated by Judd Apatow. Those shows launched more than their share of careers, including Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, and Jason Segel — all official guests. Freak James Franco isn’t listed, but given how busy he likes to keep, my fingers are crossed for a surprise appearance as one of the “additional members of the casts & creative teams.”
PaleyFest 2011 unfolds March 4-17 at the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles. Hit the jump to see the full list of panelists.

On this week’s episode of the NBC drama The Cape, entitled “Goggles and Hicks,” actor Chad Lindberg plays Hicks, one half of a team of deadly tech-savvy assassins hired by Peter Fleming (James Frain) to track and destroy The Cape. Orwell (Summer Glau) faces some challenges against the team’s strong expertise, as the two men discover The Cape’s true identity of Vince Faraday (David Lyons).
During a recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Chad Lindberg (best known for his work as Ash on The CW’s Supernatural) talked about his work on the episode, how it’s a very different role from what people have come to expect from him, how freeing it is to play a bad guy that really enjoys what he does, and how much he enjoyed working with David Lyons and James Frain, as well as Pruitt Taylor Vince who plays Goggles. He also talked about this week’s DVD/Blu-ray release of the re-imagining of the controversial film I Spit on Your Grave, in which he played the role of Matthew. Check out what he had to say after the jump.

Though there aren’t any new series that we care about joining The CW’s programming line-up in January, there’s likely plenty of people who will be interested in the new season of America’s Next Top Model. For information the season premiere of the reality series and an-all new one, you can hit the jump. However, the big news for fans of The CW’s most popular series comes from Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester. The actress revealed to E! Online that she will be leaving the show after her contract expires. That gives fans two more years of Meester living it up with the promiscuous upper class snobs of the popular series, so enjoy it while you can. To see when the series returns in January as well as the plan for the season finale of Life Unexpected, hit the jump.
