Wear This: WELCOME TO TWIN PEAKS slice

If you’re a fan of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, Threadless just put on sale a cool Twin Peaks related t-shirt called “Welcome to Twin Peaks.”  As you can see in the pictures above and after the jump, the shirt is the type you’d buy at a tourist center, or in a town gift shop.  In the lower right corner, it lists off some of the famous locations like the Timber Falls Motel, Mo’s Motor, Big Ed’s Gas Farm, and a number of other places.  Like all Threadless t-shirts, they only print up a limited number, so if you like it, don’t wait too long.

Wear This: SURVIVOR-Inspired THE HUNGER GAMES Shirt

hunger-games-shirt-slice-01

RIPT’s shirt of the day is probably a must-buy for fans of The Hunger Games. It’s a clever play on the Survivor logo and I’m sure it’s made from the finest fabric the Capitol has to offer.  I’m not a big enough fan to buy it but I know plenty of devoted Hunger Games fans (do you guys have a nickname?  Tributes?  Mockingjays?  The Hungry?) read the site so I thought I would bring this to your attention.

Also, side note: looking at other movie websites, I’ve noticed that a lot of folks think The Hunger Games is another Twilight-like series.  That was my initial concern as well, but I promise that Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the movie) is the anti-Bella Swan.  In the first book she’s a stone-cold badass and it’s not until the following novels that she becomes mopey and kind of unbearable.  Anyway, hit the jump to check out the shirt.  Gary Ross’ adaptation of The Hunger Games hits on March 23, 2012.

TV Addict Threadless slice

If you’ve watched any of my on camera interviews, you’ve probably seen me wearing a Threadless.com t-shirt.   That’s because I’m a huge fan of the site and think the reader created limited t-shirts are great. Anyway, every Monday they release new shirts and if you’re a TV Addict like me, you might like this one.  That’s because Lawrence Villanueva created a shirt that incorporates Lost, Star Trek, 24, Chuck, Battlestar Galactica, The Simpsons, The Office, Fringe, and many other shows.  Hit the jump to check it out.

Wear This: “MysteryTheater3K”

While there’s an official store for Mystery Science Theater 3000 gear (warning: you are likely to buy something while browsing it), they only have a few t-shirts.  Sadly, none of them are as great as “MysteryTheater3K” which takes the iconic silhouettes of Crow, Tom Servo, and Joel/Mike and puts them against an audience of all the genre monsters they mocked throughout the show’s great run.  This shirt could only be made better by the presence of Zap Rowsdower.

Hit the jump to check out the shirt, which is for sale today only.

There are some charming geek-friendly shirts that are on sale today and today only.  First up, for the Star Trek nerds we have “Original Space Drunk” which has Captain Kirk showing he has a little Captain Morgan in him by standing proudly over the body of a redshirt.  The shirt bears the fun inscription, “Boldly Going Anywhere, Banging Anything, and Getting Red Shirts Killed In The Process.”

For the Star Wars geeks, there’s “Tatooine Suns” which will show off your love of not only desert planets, but also basketball.  Hit the jump to check out both shirts and links for where to buy them.

Today is Groundhog Day so naturally you’re going to be watching Groundhog Day.  But what else can you do to celebrate this holiday?  More importantly, what else can you do to celebrate the greatness of Bill Murray?  You can get this shirt, which has some of Murray’s most famous roles in Groundhog form.  Unfortunately, they can’t see their shadows so that means about 18 months of Garfield.

Hit the jump to check out the shirt and where you can get it.

Wear This: LOST “Rockem Sockem Candidates” Shirt and THE BIG LEBOWSKI “The Jesus” Shirt

lost-big-lebowski-t-shirt-slice-01

A couple of cool t-shirts are on sale today and today only.  First up from Teefury is a cute Lost t-shirt called “Rockem Sockem Candidates”  [Spoilers if you haven't seen Lost] It’s a little sad but also slightly true to diminish Jack and Locke to minor pawns in Jacob and The Man in Black’s game.  But while chess may be more sophisticated, the pieces rarely rock or sock.

The other shirt comes from RIPT Apparel and is a nice sketch of everyone’s favorite pederast, The Jesus from The Big Lebowski.  If you’re the kind of person that can pull of wearing purple, then you’ll want to wear this shirt down to the bowling alley and fuck people in the ass (figuratively speaking).  Hit the jump to check out both shirts.

Wear This: TRON and THE BIG LEBOWSKI T-Shirt Mashup

A brilliant friend of mine joked on Twitter last week that because of his busy schedule, he would need to combine his December Jeff Bridges films into one fantastic flick called “True Grid”.  Artist image “spacemonkeydr” over at TeeFury has switched out True Grit for The Big Lebowski in his Tron mash-up, but I don’t have a clever title for what that movie would be called.  However, if–according to the TRON: Legacy tagline–”The Game Has Changed”, then I imagine that they’ll be playing with light balls and light pins as they try to get the score light strikes.  As Program Walter might say, “Fuck it, Dude.  Let’s go light bowling.”

Hit the jump to check out the shirt, which costs $9 and is available for purchase today onlyTRON: Legacy opens December 17th.  True Grit opens December 22nd.  True Grid opens in my awesome dreams every night.

Wear This: LOST T-Shirt Finds Its Constant…and a DeLorean

by     Posted: May 18th, 2010 at 5:02 am

Despite being a huge Lost fan, I’ve never bought a Lost-related t-shirt in all of the show’s six seasons.  That changed today as TeeFury released an amazing t-shirt featuring Faraday, Desmond, and a DeLorean.  The image on the shirt makes it look like Desmond and Faraday are about to travel through time to fight crime.  Even if Lost screws the pooch in the final episodes, I know that in terms of the show’s overall run, Faraday was great, Desmond was great, and Back to the Future is an all-time great.

Click over to TeeFury to get yours.  It’s only $9 (plus $2 shipping) and it’s only available today.  Hit the jump to see a full image of the shirt.

Wear This: My Other Ride is a Light Cycle T-Shirt/Hoodie

Threadless My Other Ride is a Light Cycle shirt slice.jpg

If you’ve never been to Threadless.com, you should definitely check them out as they’re my favorite online t-shirt shop.  Every Monday they release new shirts and their entire catalogue is created by their users.  Some of them are funny, some are artsy, and some are completely random.  But the best part is each week they always have new ones and often have great sales.

Anyway, this morning they just released a new shirt and hoody inspired by Tron.  The shirt’s called “My Other Ride is a Light Cycle” and it glows in the dark.  Hit the jump to check out some images, or hit this link to buy it.  The thing to know about Threadless is…they only make a limited amount of shirts and hoodies, so once it sells out, it’s gone until they reprint it.  If it sells out very fast, they’ll often make more soon.  But if it’s a slow burn, it’s often gone for good.

Wear This: Mr. Morgan’s Laboratory

by     Posted: April 1st, 2010 at 1:01 am

slice_wear_this_mr_morgan_laboratory.jpg

There are only two famous Dexters on TV (and perhaps in television history): Dexter, the often thwarted mad scientist child of the Cartoon Network show Dexter’s Laboratory; and Dexter Morgan, the often successful serial killer of the Showtime series Dexter.  I’m amazed it took this long for someone to put them on a t-shirt together (although there is this delightful illustration from H. Caldwell Tanner).

Hit the jump to check out a picture of the t-shirt.  It’s from TeeFury meaning that it only costs $9 (plus $2 for domestic shipping; starts at $5 for international ) and it’s only available for today.  Click here to buy it.

Wear This: One Man Wolfpack T-Shirt

by     Posted: January 13th, 2010 at 11:05 am

slice_wear_this_hangover_one_man_wolfpack_t-shirt.jpg

I think The Hangover is a pretty damn quotable film (“Hey!  There are Skittles in there!”), so it makes sense that there are a steady stream of t-shirts referencing the film.  This week, Busted Tees released one based off the following speech Alan (Zach Galifianakis) wanted to make to his new wolfpack:

You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack… it grew by one. So there… there were two of us in the wolf pack… I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, “Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!

Attempting to become blood brothers with people not required (but encouraged!).  You can check out a full image of the shirt after the jump.  Click here to go buy it.
