Though Woody Allen has head overseas for his more recent film ventures, the filmmaker and comedian loves New York City. However, it doesn’t seem like Louis C.K. is all that fond of his residence there, but this new promo for the third season of his FX comedy series Louie still takes a cue from Allen’s opening credits for Manhattan. Using a track that sounds a little bit like the classic stylings of George Gershwin and some beautiful shots of The Big Apple, it seems like another fitting tribute to the city right to the very end. You’ll see what I mean when you watch the new teaser after the jump along with the aforementioned credit sequence for your reference.  The third season of  Louie premieres on June 28th.

Teaser for the Teaser Trailer for TOTAL RECALL

A 45-second teaser trailer for the Total Recall teaser trailer has gone online.  I was hoping we could get a 15-second teaser for the 45-second teaser, and maybe even a 5-second teaser for the 15-second teaser, but maybe one day that highly possible dream will become a reality.  However, this teaser-teaser does provide the first footage from Len Wiseman‘s remake of Paul Verhoeven‘s 1990 sci-fi film.  As you can see, the movie is jam-packed with cars from Demolition Man and Cerberus troops from Mass Effect.  There are also explosions.

Hit the jump to check out the teaser for the teaser trailer along with the official synopsis.  The movie stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, John Cho, Ethan Hawke, and Bryan Cranston.  The full trailer premieres on April 1st on ABC during the Celtics-Heat game.  An extended trailer will then premiere on Apple.  Total Recall opens August 3rd.

Teaser Trailer for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2

The teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has gone online.  There’s really not much here other than Vampire Bella (Kristen Stewart).  I assume there will be explanation for why her eyes are red rather than gold like the Cullens (or is that the whole newborn thing from Eclipse?)  I’m also a tad confused when she says her life had been “ordinary” up until she became a vampire.  Considering her love interests, enemies, and the culture she saw before becoming a vampire, I’m not sure how her life was “ordinary”.  The movies make no sense now.

Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer.  The film also stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Billy Burke, Rami Malek, and Maggie Grace.   The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.

International Teaser Trailer for David Cronenberg’s COSMOPOLIS Starring Robert Pattinson [Updated with Poster]

A NSFW international teaser trailer has gone online for David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis.  The teaser provides the first look at the tone of the film, and more importantly, Robert Pattinson‘s performance in it.  In Cosmopolis, Pattinson plays a newlywed billionaire who ends up losing his bride and his billions in a single day.  Even when Pattinson isn’t doing Twilight, he’s hewed towards romantic dramas with Remember Me and Water for Elephants.  However, as Twilight draws to a close, his upcoming films will perhaps provide him with the necessary escape velocity to get away from Edward Cullen.  In Bel Ami, he plays a character who fucks his way up the social ladder of 1890s Paris, and in Cosmopolis, his character purposely shoots himself in the hand.  I can take or leave Bel Ami, but Cosmopolis looks pretty great, and I’m eager to see Pattinson break free of his famous mopey vampire.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film, based on the novel by Don DeLillo, also stars Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu AmalricCosmopolis will likely open sometime this year. [Update: We've added a new poster for the film after the jump.]

You brought this on yourself, fandoms.  If you hadn’t stood for needing to see every teeny-tiny second of new footage on movies you were excited for, we wouldn’t be inundated with this awful new trend of doing teasers for trailers.  It’s an ad for an ad.  And we can just keep going down this rabbit hole.  We can do a 10-second teaser for a 20-second teaser, and a 5-second teaser for that 10-second teaser.

So after the jump you can find a 12-second teaser for the teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.  The full teaser trailer goes online on March 26th.  The movie opens November 16th.

Universal has released the teaser trailer and poster for Despicable Me 2.  There aren’t any plot details or even footage from the film, but that doesn’t mean the marketing campaign can’t begin 15 months before the movie opens.  So how do you sell a movie without the movie?  The minions!  By being adorable, the minions can sell anything.  Granted, this is really more of an announcement trailer, although I have no idea why they’re “singing” the Beach Boys’ “Barbara Ann”.  I can’t remember if that was a thing in the first movie or not.

Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer and poster.  The film features the voice talents of Steve Carell, Jason Segel, and Al Pacino.  Despicable Me 2 opens in 3D on July 3, 2013.

Teaser Trailer for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

The teaser trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has gone online.  The film re-imagines our 16th President as a statesman by day and a vampire slayer by night.  This trailer proves three things: 1) Johnny Cash‘s reading of Revelations 6:1 (from “The Man Comes Around”) can dignify just about anything; 2) Abraham Lincoln knew axe-fu; 3) Fox is selling this movie as totally serious.  Not a hint of a joke.  Also, the action goes by so fast, that you can’t really appreciate most of the moves or even tell what’s happening.  Ultimately, audiences will look at this teaser and think, “That’s not a real movie, right?”

The film stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Alan Tudyk, Jimmi Simpson, and Rufus SewellAbraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in 3D on June 22nd.

Teaser Trailer for Supernatural Airplane Thriller 7500 Starring Leslie Bibb and Ryan Kwanten

Air travel is already annoying enough without supernatural terror going down.  There’s not enough leg room, they now charge you for every little thing (in our lifetime, major airlines will charge you to use the bathroom), and it does everything in its power to diminish the magic of air travel.  I suppose we’ll have to settle for dark magic or whatever freaky thing is attacking the passengers of 7500, the new film from Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge).  I really hope that it’s attacking because some guy didn’t turn off his electronic device during take-off. Please let that be the reason.

New Bad-Ass Trailer for GAME OF THRONES: Season 2

The second season of Game of Thrones is a little over two months away, and a new trailer has gone online.  If you thought the wait for season two was painful already, you’re going to be in agony after you see this trailer.  It’s all new footage, it sets up some key relationships, hints where the plot is going (for people who haven’t read the novels), and when Arya says “Anyone can be killed,” it’s basically the ethos for the entire series.  It’s also not a bad marketing strategy to make Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) the focus of the trailer.

New Teaser Trailer for BLADE Animated Series

We’ve already seen a few images and a teaser trailer for the forthcoming animated series adaptation of Blade, but now the January 13th premiere of the new anime is right around the corner, and now there’s a new teaser trailer to get you psyched. While it takes a lot for me to truly get excited for an anime product (it’s just not my style), the action does look like it’s going to be pretty killer, and since it’s following everyone’s favorite vampire hunter (sorely needed in these Twilight Saga clogged days), it could very well be worth checking out.

Check out the new teaser trailer after the jump. Blade premieres January 13th.

The trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises has gone online.  The trailer is full of ominous warning.  Both Batman and Gordon brought peace to Gotham, but it looks like that has only served to massive destruction and Catwoman warnings.  There’s plenty to like in the trailer: the set design, the tone, the chanting, and how the frame is packed with action.  But there’s one shot that had me cracking up and it’s the destruction of the football field.  I watch that and all I can think is, “Bane just seriously fucked over my fantasy football team.”

The first trailer for Men in Black 3 has gone online.  The plot for the sequel involves J (Will Smith) going back in time to rescue K (Tommy Lee Jones).  If I didn’t know that the script was most likely a mess, I would be slightly excited after seeing this trailer.  Smith is back with his full-blown charisma and Josh Brolin is a pitch perfect young K.  Maybe there’s a chance that somehow the script worked itself out?  I’d certainly rather see a good MIB movie than a bad one.

New Trailer for GAME OF THRONES Shows off First Footage from Season 2

HBO has released a new trailer for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.  The new trailer provides the first glimpse of the second season, mainly with characters looking pensive and/or worried.  But what sells it is the voice over from Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane).  You may recall that King Robert (Mark Addy) bequeathed the Iron Throne to his brother Stannis until the Wretched Little Shit Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) came of age.  However, Joffrey and his mother Cersei basically usurped the throne, and Stannis is clearly none too happy about it.  Last season, the tagline was “Winter Is Coming”.  Now it looks like “Cold Winds Are Rising”.  BRING A JACKET (or pelt, or whatever).

Teaser Trailer for TIM AND ERIC’S BILLION DOLLAR MOVIE

There’s not much of a middle-ground when it comes to Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! It’s unlike anything else on TV, and it can probably best be described as a public access-style sketch comedy show on acid.  When I first saw Tim and Eric, I was won over by its originality and utter insanity.  But over time, I saw it was only one note of utter insanity.  It’s still a note unlike any other you’ll hear played, but it gets to be tiresome after a while.

Case in point: the teaser trailer for Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim’s first feature-length film, Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie.  You’ll watch it, you’ll know it’s Tim and Eric, and you’re either on board or you’re not.  Hit the jump to check out the teaser.  The film also stars John C. Watch a Short New Teaser Trailer for ALCATRAZ

“This is Alcatraz. Things can always get worse.” Frankly, I hope they get a lot better when Alcatraz, the new supernaturally infused drama series from J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production banner, premieres next year. However, from the looks of this trailer, Fox is holding back the mystery of the series for now with a tease that has Sam Neill welcoming viewers to Alcatraz much in the same way Stephen Lang welcomed everyone to Terra Nova earlier this year. With the producers and creator of Lost behind this new venture though, I’m hoping that my stay at Alcatraz will last longer than the few episodes I spent on Terra Nova before boredom set in eventually. Get a taste of the series after the jump to find out if it’s worth tuning in on Monday, January 16th.
