Air travel is already annoying enough without supernatural terror going down.  There’s not enough leg room, they now charge you for every little thing (in our lifetime, major airlines will charge you to use the bathroom), and it does everything in its power to diminish the magic of air travel.  I suppose we’ll have to settle for dark magic or whatever freaky thing is attacking the passengers of 7500, the new film from Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge).  I really hope that it’s attacking because some guy didn’t turn off his electronic device during take-off. Please let that be the reason.

New Bad-Ass Trailer for GAME OF THRONES: Season 2

The second season of Game of Thrones is a little over two months away, and a new trailer has gone online.  If you thought the wait for season two was painful already, you’re going to be in agony after you see this trailer.  It’s all new footage, it sets up some key relationships, hints where the plot is going (for people who haven’t read the novels), and when Arya says “Anyone can be killed,” it’s basically the ethos for the entire series.  It’s also not a bad marketing strategy to make Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) the focus of the trailer.

New Teaser Trailer for BLADE Animated Series

We’ve already seen a few images and a teaser trailer for the forthcoming animated series adaptation of Blade, but now the January 13th premiere of the new anime is right around the corner, and now there’s a new teaser trailer to get you psyched. While it takes a lot for me to truly get excited for an anime product (it’s just not my style), the action does look like it’s going to be pretty killer, and since it’s following everyone’s favorite vampire hunter (sorely needed in these Twilight Saga clogged days), it could very well be worth checking out.

Check out the new teaser trailer after the jump. Blade premieres January 13th.

New Trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

The trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises has gone online.  The trailer is full of ominous warning.  Both Batman and Gordon brought peace to Gotham, but it looks like that has only served to massive destruction and Catwoman warnings.  There’s plenty to like in the trailer: the set design, the tone, the chanting, and how the frame is packed with action.  But there’s one shot that had me cracking up and it’s the destruction of the football field.  I watch that and all I can think is, “Bane just seriously fucked over my fantasy football team.”

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael CaineThe Dark Knight Rises opens July 20, 2012.

The first trailer for Men in Black 3 has gone online.  The plot for the sequel involves J (Will Smith) going back in time to rescue K (Tommy Lee Jones).  If I didn’t know that the script was most likely a mess, I would be slightly excited after seeing this trailer.  Smith is back with his full-blown charisma and Josh Brolin is a pitch perfect young K.  Maybe there’s a chance that somehow the script worked itself out?  I’d certainly rather see a good MIB movie than a bad one.

New Trailer for GAME OF THRONES Shows off First Footage from Season 2

HBO has released a new trailer for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.  The new trailer provides the first glimpse of the second season, mainly with characters looking pensive and/or worried.  But what sells it is the voice over from Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane).  You may recall that King Robert (Mark Addy) bequeathed the Iron Throne to his brother Stannis until the Wretched Little Shit Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) came of age.  However, Joffrey and his mother Cersei basically usurped the throne, and Stannis is clearly none too happy about it.  Last season, the tagline was “Winter Is Coming”.  Now it looks like “Cold Winds Are Rising”.  BRING A JACKET (or pelt, or whatever).

Teaser Trailer for TIM AND ERIC’S BILLION DOLLAR MOVIE

There’s not much of a middle-ground when it comes to Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! It’s unlike anything else on TV, and it can probably best be described as a public access-style sketch comedy show on acid.  When I first saw Tim and Eric, I was won over by its originality and utter insanity.  But over time, I saw it was only one note of utter insanity.  It’s still a note unlike any other you’ll hear played, but it gets to be tiresome after a while.

Case in point: the teaser trailer for Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim’s first feature-length film, Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie.  You’ll watch it, you’ll know it’s Tim and Eric, and you’re either on board or you’re not.  Hit the jump to check out the teaser.  The film also stars John C. Reilly, Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Robert Loggia, Jeff Goldblum, Will Forte, and William AthertonTim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie hits theaters on March 2, 2012, but will air on VOD beginning January 27th.

Watch a Short New Teaser Trailer for ALCATRAZ

“This is Alcatraz. Things can always get worse.” Frankly, I hope they get a lot better when Alcatraz, the new supernaturally infused drama series from J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production banner, premieres next year. However, from the looks of this trailer, Fox is holding back the mystery of the series for now with a tease that has Sam Neill welcoming viewers to Alcatraz much in the same way Stephen Lang welcomed everyone to Terra Nova earlier this year. With the producers and creator of Lost behind this new venture though, I’m hoping that my stay at Alcatraz will last longer than the few episodes I spent on Terra Nova before boredom set in eventually. Get a taste of the series after the jump to find out if it’s worth tuning in on Monday, January 16th.

New Teaser Trailer for Season Three of JUSTIFIED

It’s crazy to think that Walton Goggins and his racist character Boyd Crowder almost bit the dust at the end of the pilot for Justified, but after focus group tests showed the audience absolutely loved the character, he was made to stick around, and has lasted into the series’ third season. Now he’s featured alongside Emmy nominated star Timothy Olyphant with shotguns blazing in this brief teaser for the new season set to premiere in January. There’s not really any new footage from the series itself, but this teaser is still pretty kick-ass. Watch it after the jump.

HBO has released a new trailer for David Milch and Michael Mann’s upcoming horse-gambling drama Luck.  If Milch (Deadwood) and Mann (Heat) didn’t already get you excited for the show, here’s the cast: Dustin Hoffman, Nick Nolte, Dennis Farina, John Ortiz, Richard Kind, Kevin Dunn, and Michael Gambon.  The main plotline focuses on as Ace Bernstain (Hoffman) a man who, after three years in prison, teams with his longtime chauffeur and muscle (Farina), to craft a complex plan involving the Santa Anita racetrack.  Of course, this is HBO where there are 3 or 4 plotlines per episode and you have to learn the names of 18 or 19 regular cast members.

The teaser trailer for the horror comedy John Dies at the End has gone online.  It’s the new flick from Bubba Ho-Tep director Don Coscarelli and it’s got great actors like Paul Giamatti, Clancy Brown, and Doug Jones (who surprisingly is not in make-up) in the cast.  But after watching this teaser trailer, I still have no idea what the movie is about beyond the protagonist tripping balls.  There’s apparently a new intravenous drug with the street name “Soy Sauce” because of its black color, and it causes crazy hallucinations.  I guess it’s tougher to explain than “Old Elvis fights the Mummy”.

Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer along with the official synopsis, which also doesn’t provide any clarification on the plot.

Teaser Trailer for Season 2 of GAME OF THRONES Plays to Those Who Have Read the Books

HBO has released an incredibly brief teaser trailer for the second season of Game of Thrones.  It’s a circle of fire and then someone whispering “The night is dark and full of terrors.”  Well, half of that statement is obvious and the other half is why Ambien may not be the right sleep medication for you.  Obviously, as someone who hasn’t read the books, the quote is meaningless to me.  But apparently it’s the mantra of Melisandre of Asshai, a character who is introduced in the new season and who will be played by Carice Van Houten (Black Book).

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, Summit has to go and release a trailer preview for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Of course, the full trailer isn’t due out until Tuesday, September 13th. So, essentially it’s a preview of a preview. Nevertheless, I’m not going to cast any judgment on fans who want to check it out because I’d likely be overjoyed to check out a preview of a preview of a preview of The Dark Knight Rises. Oh, fandom.

You can watch the trailer preview after the jump. Directed by Bill Condon and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, Michael Sheen and Kellan Lutz, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 opens on November 18th.

Teaser Trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for the film adaptation of The Hunger Games.  The movie is set in the future in the ruins of what was once North America and is now known as “Panem”.  The story centers on Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), a young woman who must survive a televised fight to the death between her and teenagers from other the other districts of Panem. You won’t really get any of that from this teaser trailer.  You won’t get much of anything except Katniss running through the woods, dodging fireballs, shooting an arrow, and a really good look at the logo.  This is not a movie that sells itself and there are plenty of folks thinking “Oh, great.  Another Twilight mixed with second-rate Battle Royale.”  They need to be convinced or at least intrigued.  This teaser plays only to the fans and as someone who enjoyed the book, even I was underwhelmed.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  Directed by Gary Ross (Seabiscuit), the film also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, and Donald Sutherland star.  The Hunger Games opens on March 23, 2012.

People in the UK must think they’re so cool because they’re getting Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy two months before us poor sods in the US see it.  And to all of our UK readers, I’ll tell you this right now: you’re cool because of your accents, but getting a first look at this movie doesn’t hurt either.  Technically, folks at the Venice Film Festival will see what looks like an exhilarating spy thriller, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for the reviews we’ll be seeing a couple weeks from now.  If anyone in the UK wants to fly me over to see the movie, I’ll give you all the tea in China.  I’ve been told you people like tea.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film stars Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds, Mark Strong, Svetlana Khodchenko, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Stephen Graham, and Kathy Burke.   Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy opens in the UK on September 16th and in the US on November 18th.
