At WonderCon last weekend, Adam Chitwood and I sat down and interviewed The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.  We asked him about how his life had changed since the success of the TV show, how they’re planning to up the zombie kills in season two, the upcoming video game, as well as his other comics projects like The Infinite and supporting new comics like Witch Doctor.  Hit the jump to either read or listen to the interview.

Telltale Games has released the first trailer for their upcoming episodic Back to the Future video games.  While the trailer doesn’t show off any gameplay, it establishes the premise that the new story (which takes place six months after the events of Back to the Future: Part III) has Marty going back in time to once again rescue Doc Brown from an inhospitable time period.  The voice work sound solid and I like the visual style Telltale has gone for so hopefully the gameplay will deliver.

As the 25^th anniversary of Back to the Future rolls on, the news just keeps coming. In June, we reported that Telltale Games would be making a brand new game based on the classic 1985 time travel hit and now a newly revealed image provides the first taste of what the game might hold. In addition to an image of the main characters, co-writer and producer for the series, Bob Gale, told the paper that the plot of the game will be based on five “episodes” and that the DeLorean, Hill Valley and various characters from the movie will appear.  Also, Christopher Lloyd will return to provide the voice of Doc Brown.

Add this to the fact that the UK is getting a theatrical re-release, the brand new Blu-rays are coming out,and a week-long celebration is happening in Los Angeles and Back to the Future seems to be just as popular as it was 25 years ago.

But, did you know this isn’t the first time Marty and Doc have appeared in a video game? Hit the jump to see the reason why Telltale Games had to give this franchise a game worthy of the name Back to the Future.

Telltale Games wants gamers to know that it’s time to get back on the hoverboard and start evading velociraptors.  According to the AP, the video game developers who made the new episodic Sam & Max Games, are creating a new episodic series of games based on Back to the Future and Jurassic Park.  Dan Connors, CEO of Telltale, says that the games will expand the BTTF and JP universe but won’t be sequels per se.  The AP also says that Connors, ” teased that the ‘Back to the Future’ games may include a DeLorean ride back to the 1970s while the ‘Jurassic Park’ games would be intense and add new backstories to the series’ man-versus-dinosaur mythology.”  I can see spinning off the Jurassic Park games but I don’t understand how you can do a Back to the Future game without somehow incorporating a character or characters from the trilogy.  Even if you just took Doc Brown’s kids Jules and Verne, that would still technically be a sequel.
