At Comic-Con, shortly after some very crowded press conferences and showing fans the first footage from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, I was able to sit down with Ashley Greene for an exclusive interview.  We talked about being at Comic-Con, working for director Bill Condon, what was it like to make the final two Twilight films, what kind of projects is she looking to do next, her other upcoming movies (Butter, LOL, and The Apparition), and, of course, I asked what’s her karaoke song.  Hit the jump to either read or listen to the interview.

Producer Joel Silver on SPLICE, LOGAN’S RUN, SWAMP THING, THE APPARATION, PROJECT-X, UNKNOWN WHITE MALE

Producer Joel Silver Logans Run Swamp Thing slice

After seeing just one still of the movie in a trade paper, and then being sent the finished film, producer Joel Silver thought it was so effective that he ended up acquiring the rights to the horror feature Splice. Although he was always open to the possibility, acquiring an already-finished product was something he had never done before, under his Dark Castle banner.

While at the press day for the disturbing thriller, which stars Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody, the prolific producer also discussed a long list of other projects that he currently has in various stages, including Unknown White Male, The Apparition, The Factory and Project X.  He also talked about the disappointing box office for The Losers, his hopes to get Logan’s Run and Forbidden Planet into production, what’s holding up Swamp Thing and his thoughts on 3-D, as well as confirming that he is no longer working with The Wachowskis. Check out what he had to say after the jump.

Producer Alex Heineman on HOT WHEELS, LOGAN’S RUN, SHERLOCK HOLMES 2

Producer Alex Heineman on HOT WHEELS, LOGANS RUN, SHERLOCK HOLMES 2.jpg

Last week I got to visit the set of The Apparition – which stars Sebastian Stan and Ashley Greene.  While we’re embargoed from writing about the set visit (for now), we’ve been given permission to run parts of our interviews that don’t pertain to the film.  Since producer Alex Heineman is involved in other projects as he works for Joel Silver, we got updates on Hot Wheels, Logan’s Run, and Sherlock Holmes 2.

While the updates are brief, the important thing to take away from this article is when I asked Heineman what else he’s working on, he said they’re really focused on Hot Wheels and Logan’s Run.  While I knew Hot Wheels was moving forward, I didn’t realize Logan’s Run was such a priority at Silver Pictures.  He went on to say they’re trying to find the right director for Logan’s Run, which means while it’s a priority, it’s not that close to being in front of the cameras.  Hit the jump for exactly what he said:

Sebastian Stan on Darren Aronofsky’s BLACK SWAN

I’ll always remember my set visit for Warner Bros. The Apparition for one reason: the day after I spoke to Sebastian Stan on set, it was announced he’d be playing Bucky in The First Avenger: Captain America.  When the news came out I couldn’t believe it, as at the end of our interview he said something was in the works but he couldn’t talk about it yet.   If only it had been 24 hours later…

But even though we didn’t get to talk about Captain America when I visited The Apparition set last week with a few other online journalists, Stan did talk to us about his experiences working for Darren Aronofsky on Black Swan opposite Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.  Hit the jump for what he said and look for a lot more on The Apparition when our embargo lifts.

Men, if you find yourself forced into watching “Twilight” or “New Moon”, don’t panic.  There is a way to survive.  Be on the lookout for Ashley Greene, who plays some vampire lady, I wasn’t really paying attention because her character is not the point.  The point is Ashley Greene is jaw-droppingly attractive and every time the camera looks at her the suffering momentarily ends.  She is the life-saver which you must cling to for dear life.  At the end of it all, you will thank the gods and the casting director for putting her in that franchise.

Today we have news that she’ll be starring in Dark Castle’s upcoming horror movie “The Apparition”, which means you won’t spend time between scenes praying she’ll show up.  You just get to gaze upon her and let your adulation creep out others around you.  Hit the jump to go Greene.
