Just before last weekend, Limited Paper exclusively revealed the variant edition of Alexander Iaccarino’s The Last of Us poster, which could be picked up (in extremely limited numbers) by those attending this year’s Penny Arcade Expo. A day or two later, we announced that the good folks at Sony and Naughty Dog—makers of The Last of Us, the Uncharted series, and all-around badass mammajammas—had given Limited Paper three copies of that poster to give away to a trio of lucky Limited Paper readers.
Winning one of those posters would be no more complicated than answering a single question (“What’s the first thing you’d do after the apocalypse hits?”) via email. Picking a winner, however, turned out to be a far more complicated affair. Find out who won (and who almost won) that trio of extremely-rare Last of Us posters after the jump, folks.

Imagine that you’re a struggling artist. You’ve got undeniable talent, your friends all think you’re great at what you do, and your family’s supportive of you… but no one else seems to be paying attention to your work. One day, you upload a photo of your latest creation—a hand-drawn movie poster—to your websbite, and something you’ve always hoped would happen finally does: a few key people notice the poster, share it with others, and now all of ‘em want to pay you for a copy of it. Over the course of one frantic day, you go from being almost completely unknown… to having an inbox filled with questions, PayPal receipts, and maybe even a few offers for future work. It’s what you’ve been hoping would happen, but are you prepared for it?
This is what happened to artist Alexander Iaccarino over the past month. His take on the animated 80’s classic Akira put him on the radar of hundreds—if not thousands—of art collectors recently, and in the time since he’s had to adapt to his newfound success. With a brand-new poster (based on Sony’s upcoming The Last of Us) debuting this weekend at the Penny Arcade Expo, Iaccarino sat down with Limited Paper to describe what it’s been like (and to help us give away a few copies of that new poster). Meet me after the jump, folks.

About a month ago, artist Alexander Iaccarino probably wasn’t feeling all that special: like many other fledgling artists, he had a website, an online portfolio, and a small store with a few posters on sale. But also like many others, Iaccarino hadn’t had his first big break. Then along came that Akira poster, and within 24 hours…everything changed. Among many other things, Iaccarino’s Akira poster put him on our radar here at Limited Paper, and—as it turns out—the timing couldn’t have been better.
Want to see Iaccarino’s latest poster? Wanna know which of 2013’s most heavily-anticipated video games it’s based on? And ya wanna know where you can score the super-limited-edition version of that poster? It’s all after the jump, folks.

This weekend Spike TV aired the 2011 Video Game Awards, and like previous years, the VGAs were used to provide plenty of trailers for upcoming games. This year, debut trailers were released for The Last of Us (a zombie game from Naughty Dog, the creators of Uncharted), Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD, Alan Wake: American Nightmare, Fortnite (the new game from Gears of War studio Epic Games), Rainbow Six: Patriots, Command & Conquer: Generals 2 (from Mass Effect studio BioWare), Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (have any of these games been good?), and The Amazing Spider-Man. The Spider-Man one is interesting because it’s supposed to be an epilogue to the movie of the same name, but there are also giant subterranean spider robots. I was under the impression that Marc Webb‘s Spider-Man reboot was supposed to be grittier and more realistic, but then I remembered that a new open-world Spider-Man game was probably in development before Webb’s film.
Hit the jump to check out the debut trailers along with new trailers for Bioshock Infinite, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (I don’t make up the names), Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Hitman: Absolution, Diablo III, and Mass Effect 3.
