Nobody Walks, directed by Ry Russo-Young (You Won’t Miss Me), was one of the many films that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Written by Lena Dunham and Russo-Young, the ensemble drama stars John Krasinski, Olivia Thirlby, Rosemarie DeWitt, India Ennenga and Justin Kirk. In the film, “Krasinski plays Peter, a Hollywood sound designer who’s agreed to help Martine (Thirlby) with her experimental art film as a favor to his wife (DeWitt). Martine, a beautiful and driven 23-year-old artist, comes to stay in the family’s pool house at their posh Silver Lake home, and her arrival ignites raw emotions and desires throughout the entire family.” Ennenga plays the daughter. Since premiering, Magnolia picked up the film for domestic distribution, so you’ll be able to see it at some point down the road.
During my interview with Rosemarie Dewitt we talked about being at Sundance, who she plays in Nobody Walks and what it’s about, how the story changed along the way, karaoke and more. In addition, since Dewitt just finished shooting Neighborhood Watch (which stars Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade), she talked about who she plays and what it’s about. We also talked about Your Sister’s Sister and The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Hit the jump to watch.

Disney is probably done with Comic-Con for good. The studio now has its own convention, the D23 Expo, and they’re using it to promote their upcoming films. This year, D23 will have presentations for The Avengers, The Muppets, John Carter, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Brave, Wreck-It Ralph, Frankenweenie, Oz the Great and Powerful, and more. The presentations will include appearances from Jason Segel, Taylor Kitsch, Kelly Macdonald, Jennifer Garner, Jack McBrayer, unnamed cast members from The Avengers, “and other surprise guests.”
Hit the jump for the full press release, which also announces presentations from the Pixar Creative team, a behind-the-scenes look at Monsters University, an advanced screening of The Lion King 3D and more. The D23 Expo runs from August 19 – 21st at the Anaheim Convention Center. Collider will be on hand to cover the event.

We posted this trailer yesterday but Disney asked us to take it down because it was “incorrect”. Today it’s up on Yahoo! Movies and it’s almost exactly the same so here’s what I wrote yesterday: The trailer for The Odd Life of Timothy Green stars out innocently enough. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton play a couple who are unable to conceive a child. They write down their hopes and dreams for the child they’ll never have, put the writing in a box, and bury the box in their backyard. In the middle of the night, they awaken to find a dirt-covered young boy in their house and he’s calling them “mom and dad.” If that actually happened, you would not be uplifted. You would be freaked out beyond all reason. Furthermore, we’re now going to have scores of child molesters burying their wish lists and hoping for a case of sprouted boy. Is that what you want The Odd Life of Timothy Green? IS IT?
If you missed the trailer yesterday you can check it out after the jump along with the poster. Watch the trailer and be horrified with me. The Odd Life of Timothy Green is set to open August 15, 2012 and believe me, I question the wisdom of running a trailer for a movie that’s over a year away.

Hit the jump to check out the saccharine and unnerving trailer. The film will likely open sometime next year. [Update: We've removed the trailer at the request of the studio. This version was leaked and the "correct" version will be released tomorrow on Yahoo! Movies.]

Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom) will costar with Jennifer Garner in Pete Hedges’ fantasy fable The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Per THR, “the story centers on a childless couple, unable to conceive, who bury all their wishes for a baby in a box in their backyard. One day, they wake up to find that a child is born, but the child is not all that it appears.” Really? The Backyard Box Baby isn’t “all that it appears?” Go figure. Hedges wrote the script based on a story by Ahmet Zappa.
Edgerton will be seen in theaters next April in the horror remake/prequel The Thing with Mary Elizabeth Winstead (click here to read Steve’s on set interview with Edgerton). He’ll also be appearing alongside Tom Hardy in Gavin O’Connor’s boxing drama Warrior, which is about two brothers (Edgerton and Hardy) forced to fight each in a mixed martial arts tournament.

Jennifer Garner is attached to star in The Odd Life of Timothy Green, the latest from director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life). The film is a “modern-day fable [that] centers around a child-prodigy musician and his parents.” Garner will play the mother, while Disney has made an offer to Mark Wahlberg for the role of the father. Vulture reports that Wahlberg is expected to pass, and that Joaquin Phoenix is on the “next step” of candidates to be offered the part if he does.
Jennifer Garner recently signed on to star opposite Jeremy Renner in Better Living Through Chemistry. She can also be seen in next year’s political satire Butter, and in the remake of Arthur starring Russell Brand.
