We’ve been reporting on all the networks’ new fall 2012 schedules over the past few days, with word from NBC, Fox, ABC, and CBS. Today The CW announced their new lineup, and quite a few shakeups are taking place. As far as returning series go, every single show has a new night and/or time except for The Vampire Diaries which remains on Thursday. Supernatural moves to Wednesdays, Hart of Dixie now airs on Tuesdays, and 90210 is set for Mondays. The highly anticipated Green Arrow TV show, Arrow, will air on Wednesdays at 8pm, while Beauty and the Beast will premiere on Thursdays after The Vampire Diaries.
One noticeable omission is the Sex and the City prequel series The Carrie Diaries. That show won’t debut until January 2013. Hit the jump to check out the full schedule for The CW.

With The CW series The Vampire Diaries wrapping up its third season, just like with every season of the popular drama, the lives of every character will be in jeopardy, decisions will be made that will change everything, and it’s pretty likely that the hearts of at least some of the residents of Mystic Falls will be broken, before it’s all said and done.
Since his first appearance on the show, original vampire Elijah has become an increasingly popular character among the loyal viewers and, during this recent exclusive interview with Collider, actor Daniel Gillies talked about how he originally got involved with The Vampire Diaries, what drew him to the role, how immensely lucky he feels that the role has turned out the way it has, what he’s enjoyed most about playing Elijah, and how sweet and supportive the fans have been. He also talked about his role as a hotshot young surgeon on the NBC medical drama Saving Hope, premiering on June 7th, being able to juggle both shows if need be, and writing and directing his first independent film, the drama Broken Kingdom. Check out what he had to say after the jump.

The CW Network has renewed station standout The Vampire Diaries, along with fan-favorites Supernatural and 90210; all three series will return for the 2012-2013 season. The Vampire Diaries, starring Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, returns for its fourth season. The long-running Supernatural, starring Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Jim Beaver will kick-off its eighth season, while Beverly Hills socialites Shenae Grimes, Tristan Wilds and AnnaLynne McCord return for the fifth season of 90210. In the final episodes of Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, things are ramping up in major ways and, as per usual with the popular show, everyone is in jeopardy. Love triangles will come to a resolution, heroes and villains will be tested, some big mythology moves will happen, and there’s likely to be tears.
During this recent interview to discuss where things are headed for the end of this season, executive producer/writer Julie Plec and co-stars Candice Accola, Michael Trevino and Zach Roerig talked about the extraordinary changes that the characters will be going through in their own emotional lives, personal lives, romantic lives and supernatural lives, along with what to expect from the finale. Julie Plec also shared that she and show co-creator Kevin Williamson already know how they would like the show to end, whenever that ends up being. Check out what they had to say after the jump, and be aware that there are some spoilers:

On The CW drama series The Vampire Diaries, actress/singer/artist/filmmaker Persia White plays witch Abby Bennett, who abandoned her daughter, Bonnie (Kat Graham), more than 15 years ago. Even though an energy-draining spell essentially left her witchcraft dormant, Abby was still able to work with Bonnie to open the coffin containing Esther (Alice Evans), leading both to the binding of all her Original vampire children, and to a shocking event that will change Abby forever.
During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Persia White talked about how she came to be a part of The Vampire Diaries, how much she loves working with this cast, her reaction to finding out that her witch character was going to have a significant transition, how she prefers not knowing what’s coming next on the show, and how being a part of this has given her a better understanding of the vampire craze. She also talked about what draws her to other art forms, and why she enjoys making documentaries. Check out what she had to say after the jump, and please be aware that there are some spoilers:

On the last episode of The CW drama series The Vampire Diaries, called “Dangerous Liaisons,” viewers learned that the mother of the Original vampires is not quite as loving of her children as she appears. With her nefarious plan set in motion, thanks in part to Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and the blood of the doppleganger, things are sure to get more intense, leading up to the Season 3 finale.
During a recent interview to hint at what’s to come, executive producer/writer Julie Plec talked about the Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) love triangle that Elena is stuck in, exploring Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) humanity, whether or not any of the Originals will survive what’s been set in motion, where the Klaus and Caroline (Candice Accola) relationship could be headed and where that leaves Tyler (Michael Trevino), the unique position that Matt (Zach Roerig) is in as one of the only humans left in Mystic Falls, what’s in store for Bonnie (Kat Graham) and her mother, how Alaric’s (Matthew Davis) ring failing is going to be causing some problems, that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) will return before the end of the season, and that viewers cannot be certain about the fate of anyone. Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Executive producer Kevin Williamson clearly gets as excited and passionate about his CW drama series The Vampire Diaries as the fans of the show do. Currently in its third season, the show is exciting and dangerous, in a way that most shows strive for but never quite live up to, leaving characters in serious peril, on a weekly basis.
While at the TCA Winter Press Tour, Williamson talked about why it was finally the right time to have that Damon-Elena kiss that many have been anxiously waiting for, how Stefan is now a true tragic hero, knowing the right time to kill off a character, embracing the melodrama in a way that makes it epic, and what he’s excited about for the remainder of the season. He also talked about his latest pilot, which he’s been looking to make for 15 years, about a serial killer who escapes from prison and has a cult of killers helping him, while an FBI agent is working to bring them down. Check out what he had to say after the jump.

One of the biggest bad-asses on television is Original vampire Klaus on The CW drama series The Vampire Diaries. Played by Joseph Morgan, Klaus likes to use his charm to wreak havoc all over Mystic Falls, and makes life very unpleasant for Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), and all of their friends and family.
While at the TCA Winter Press Tour, actor Joseph Morgan talked about getting to play a character that’s lived through so many different eras (of which he’s enjoyed 1920′s Chicago the most), bringing the human element to the evil behavior that Klaus has become known for, that he’s been pushing for a love interest for some time now, that he hopes he’ll get to hang around on the show for awhile, and how he’d love to do a guest spot as a human survivor on the hit zombie series The Walking Dead. News keeps pouring out of the Television Critics Association, but now sights can be set on another big event for TV fans with PaleyFest 2012 announcing this year’s panels with some of the biggest shows of the season. Community (which is apparently not cancelled yet) will make an appearance and new shows like American Horror Story and New Girl will debut at the festival alongside fan favorites like Mad Men and Modern Family. For the complete list of shows bring cast and crew to PaleyFest 2012 and details on how to get tickets, hit the jump.

A show like The Vampire Diaries is easily dismissed; there seems to be no reason at all to tune in unless you’re a fifteen-year-old girl who really loves Edward Cullen, or a cable-less vampire lover. The latter might even be a bit of a stretch. What you’d be missing while under that assumption, however, is one of the most consistently good shows on network TV. Though the premise might be a little hard to swallow at first – especially if you’re not the target demographic of anything else the CW puts out – the show is worth the effort. Hidden behind a trite storyline is solid writing, intriguing storytelling, and one of the most frivolously addictive shows on air right now. Continuing to make themselves the dominant force in streaming etnertainment to users, Netflix, Warner Bros. Television Group and CBS Corporation have just signed a four-year deal that will bring all prior seasons of The CW’s current scripted series and future shows to Netflix. That means all previous programming, and anything between now and the 2014-2015 season will be made available to watch instantly by Netflix users. The deal includes all drama series on the network’s 2011 schedule like Ringer, Hart of Dixie, The Secret Circle, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, 90210, Supernatrual, Nikita and One Tree Hill.
All the previous season of The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and Nikita will be available on October 15th while episodes of Supernatural and 90210 won’t arrive until January 2012. As for all the episodes airing on The CW this season, they will be made available in the fall of 2012, before the next season starts. However, any new series that appear on The CW after this point, will be made available through a commensurate window during that current season. In this week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, entitled “The End of the Affair,” family ties will be revealed, relationships will be explained and familiar faces will return, and it’s only the third episode into Season 3. Collider was one of a handful of outlets invited over to The CW offices to view the episode and all of its edge-of-your-seat moments a day early, and see what hints we could get executive producer/writer Julie Plec to tease, in regard to the upcoming season.
While she didn’t give any specifics or major reveals, Julie Plec did talk about how this episode is just the beginning of what viewers will see of the Originals’ history and origin, what these revelations will do to the relationship between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), that the chemistry between Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will be illuminated more as a result, what the true agenda of the ghosts visiting Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is, when Bonnie (Katerina Graham) will return, how things will develop between Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino), and that viewers should always dread character deaths. Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Returning for its third season on September 15th, The Vampire Diaries is the story of two vampire brothers, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who are both obsessed with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev). As Stefan sinks deeper into the dark side, Damon and Elena struggle with the guilt of their growing bond, even as they work together to bring Stefan back from the edge that Original vampire Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has brought him to.
During a recent interview, actor Ian Somerhalder talked about how his character Damon Salvatore will change this season, the push-pull between what Damon truly is and who everyone else wants him to be, the effects of the Season 2 finale kiss between Damon and Elena, Damon’s relationships with Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), and making sure that his character maintains his edge, even if he does end up an anti-hero. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

The CW supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries is one of those rare shows that just keeps getting stronger in its storytelling, making its Season 3 return on September 15th highly anticipated for its devoted fan base. After Klaus (Joseph Morgan) proved himself to be the most powerful vampire in existence at the end of Season 2, wreaking havoc on Mystic Falls, this season will explore Klaus’ motives for wanting Stefan (Paul Wesley) on his side, the growing bond between Stefan’s love Elena (Nina Dobrev) and his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder), and Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) new ability to see the ghosts of his past loves. And, making things even better, the popular series will now be teamed up with The Secret Circle, which is also adapted from books by L.J. Smith and executive produced by Kevin Williamson.
During a recent interview, in which he discussed both series and the differences between their mythologies, Williamson talked about how the first half of the season of The Vampire Diaries will explore the Original Family, that viewers will learn why Jeremy is seeing ghosts, that Bonnie (Katerina Graham) will play a pivotal role in the story, and how, if you focus on telling an emotional story, the twists and turns present themselves. He also talked about how The Secret Circle will be more of a multi-generational story, with its own intriguing love triangle and balance of power. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Warner Bros. Studios is having a very busy week, but not so busy as to forget a little thing called Comic-Con 2011. Warner Bros. Entertainment will once again be teaming up with the con to sponsor the “Comic-Con International: San Diego Official Bag.” The more than 130,000 bags (available to badge-holders upon check in) will feature official Comic-Con art on one side and one of 10 franchises in the WB/DC universe on the other. Featured titles include Batman: Arkham City, ThunderCats and Fringe. Hit the jump to check them out!
To prevent your arms from getting tired from hauling all your swag around, this year the bags will turn you into a walking advertisement double as backpacks! Personally, I’m willing to stab a guy in the eye for a ThunderCats bag. Knowing my luck, I’ll get The Vampire Diaries. If you guys hear about some black market bag trading going on, be sure to let me know.
