As we’ve previously reported, Fox’s Glee will be having a special episode that will premiere following this year’s Super Bowl. The episode will feature a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, but it won’t be a tribute episode because they need to save those for really important artists like Britney Spears. While we previously posted some leaked images, we’ve been given a number of official high resolution images and you can check out them out after the jump.

The post-Super Bowl episode will air on Feburary 6th following Super Bowl XLV. The episode will also feature music from Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry. I imagine plot will be incidental and the characters will treat each other like crap.

Since Fox’s announcement that hit-series Glee would follow their broadcast of this season’s Super Bowl, speculation has been rampant regarding which artist those pesky high schoolers would be paying tribute to in the episode. However, it seems the producers have decided to take an alternative route, and simply do a traditional episode of the ratings juggernaut. EW reports that the undoubtedly large-budget episode (the most expensive in Glee history, according to EW) will include music from Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, Katy Perry, and yes, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” The plot will reportedly center on the local football championship (at the halftime of which “Thriller” will be performed, in a mash-up with a yet to be announced song) and the regional competition for Sue Sylvester’s cheerleading squad. It’s been over a year now since Michael Jackson passed away, but Jackson’s popularity is showing no signs of slowing down. Today, we have news that GK Films is developing a feature film based off of Jackson’s iconic music video, Thriller. The film will be written by Jeremy Garelick (The Hangover) and will focus on “the song’s folklore, involving Vincent Price and the town he grew up in”. Kenny Ortega, who directed Jackson’s posthumous concert film This is It, has signed on to helm the film. Hit the jump for a reminder of Thriller’s awesomeness along with some news on what other Jackson projects are in the works.

In anticipation of next week’s coverage of Comic Con, I wanted to bring you some early images of the highly anticipated second DX figure from Hot Toys – the all new 1/6th scale Batman figure that stands approximately 32 cm tall. The pictures don’t do the figure justice. But they come close. Check them out after the jump:
