With New York City Toy Fair starting in less than two weeks, the movie studios are starting to announce what will be on display at the convention. If you’re a toy collector, it’s Christmas, because you get to see almost everything that will be arriving over the course of the year. And for movie fans, it’s also great, as you get first looks at the costumes and gadgets that have been under wraps during the entire production. While the studios are usually great at keeping everything under wraps, Toy Fair offers the fans a lot of answers.
Anyway, Warner Bros. Consumer Products just sent over a number of images of some of their Hobbit and Dark Knight Rises items that will be on display. While we posted some of the items last night, we’ve now got high resolution looks at the Funko line of Wacky Wobler’s and Pop Heroes, and we’ve also got a Dark Knight Chess Set, Thinkway Toys U-Command Batpod, and The Noble Collection’s The One Ring 10k Solid Gold Edition. Hit the jump for the images.

We have seen a couple previews for toys from The Dark Knight Rises. We are currently in the business of passing along all things Batman, so tonight we have a few more looks at the toys that will be unveiled at the Nuremburg Toy Fair. Most notable to this unsophisticated toyman is the vinyl pop version of Bane, easily the most adorable likeness of a masked psychopath I’ve ever seen. There is a vinyl Catwoman to match (sensible given her costume), along with your basic Batman action figure accompanied by a very interesting contraption.
Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine star in the final entry of Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy. The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20. See the images after the break.

If you’re a toy collector, Comic-Con is heaven. That’s because not only do all the toys companies sell cool exclusives, they also show off tons of upcoming products. With my schedule packed doing interviews, Collider’s Ryan Brookhart spent the past few days taking tons of pictures of the latest collectibles on the Convention floor. Included in his image recap are Voltron, Star Trek, G.I. Joe, Batman, Masters of the Universe, Tron: Legacy, tons of upcoming Hot Toys products (Iron Man, Captain America, Avatar, Indiana Jones), tons of upcoming Sideshow Collectibles products, and a lot more. If you’re into toys/collectibles, you really want to hit the jump.

If you’re an Indiana Jones fan and going to Comic-Con this week, get ready to drop a few bucks at the Hasbro booth. That’s because they’re going to be selling the “lost wave” of Raiders of the Lost Ark figures and they’re in an amazing bit of packaging. As you can see after the jump, all the figures come in a special box which looks great on its own. Inside you’ll get Indiana Jones (ultimate version with a brand new head sculpt), Marion Ravenwood, Satipo, German Mechanic, Indy in German Disguise, and Toht (with extra melted head!). Trust me, look at the pictures. You’ll want one. This is definitely going to sell out.

In addition to the cosplay pictures that I took at this weekend’s WonderCon, I also snapped a bunch of photos of the convention floor and some of the cool toys on display. So hit the jump to check out some Ghostbusters toys, Green Lantern toys, the real costumes from HBO’s Game of Thrones, a huge banner for Doctor Who and Dylan Dog, the banner ad for how to get a personalized S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Badge, and more.

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (or C2E2) located in the beautifully spacious McCormick Place. In only its second year of existence, the convention brings a small taste of the international phenomenon that is San Diego Comic-Con to the Midwest (more specifically, to a brisk, 30 degree Chicago in March). Although light on the film industry presence that SDCC offers in mass quantities (to its credit, Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth was C2E2′s guest of honor and was available for a fan Q&A), C2E2 had a lot to offer in the way of costumed attendees and even threw in a dash of film-related toys for good measure. To be brief, I had a great time at an event I believe has a ton of potential moving forward.
After the jump, you can find some of the photo highlights from my weekend at C2E2. Included are toys from upcoming movies such as Green Lantern, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Thor. Additionally, I must say it was a pleasure meeting some iconic characters such as Godzilla, Darth Vader, and a teamed-up Harry Potter and Captain Jack Sparrow. If any of the above sounds interesting to you, I recommend taking a few minutes to check out the photographic evidence.

Yesterday I posted 100 images from Toy Fair 2011. Included were tons of photos of all the movie related toys set to arrive throughout 2011 like Green Lantern, Smurfs, Happy Feet 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Star Wars, The Walking Dead, Gremlins and many others. However, thanks to the good folks at Warner Bros., after the jump you can check out two videos that focus on the upcoming Thundercats and Green Lantern toys. What I really like about the Thundercats toy line is that they’re making the new and old versions of the characters. I really hope the new cartoon is good.

Earlier today I finally attended my first Toy Fair in New York City. As a former toy collector, I’ve always wanted to check out the biggest toy show of the year. While I thought the aisles would be decorated with action figures and super heroes, the reality is, most of the toys on display are aimed at little kids. However, even though I was a bit let down by Toy Fair, I did manage to snap 100 pictures. Included are all the movie related toys that were on display (minus Hasbro as they were off site). So if you’d like to see toys for Green Lantern, Happy Feet 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Star Wars, The Walking Dead, Gremlins, the Flux Capacitor from Back to the Future, The Smurfs, Fraggle Rock, Batman, Justice League, and tons of other random things, hit the jump!

With Marvel releasing both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger this summer, you can expect plenty of movie related action figures to hit store shelves. While not all the figures have to do with their movie counterpart, I think they’re still worth checking out.
Even though some of you aren’t on board with the look of Thor, I think everything looks fantastic. Also, hypothetically speaking, if I were to have spoken to a few people that saw a test screening of Thor, they might have told me the film was great. I can’t wait to see it for myself. Hit the jump for the new toys:

Last June we broke the good news that the 1980s would be making an appearance in the 21st Century with a new Thundercats animated series in the works at Cartoon Network. Today, we have the first glimpse at new toys and character designs from the upcoming series. While the image quality may be less than stellar, they provide enough of a glimpse for Thundercats fans to get excited about the series’ premiere later this year. Hit the jump to check out the new images of Lion-O and company.
[Update: Shortly after posting this story, Warner Brothers Animation sent over the first official image and a short synopsis from the new ThunderCats series. Find both after the jump.]

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has announced a number of Green Lantern toys at this year’s Toy Fair currently going on in New York City. If you want to get a closer look at the Ryan Reynolds action figure and some of the other movie related items, hit the jump.

As one of the most anticipated films of 2011, the Green Lantern marketing machine is already up and running. Before the movie hits theaters this summer, you can have your very own mini-Hal Jordan, complete with display stand and wearable power ring. The Mattel collectible will be a limited edition run of 2814 numbered pieces (limit 1 per person) and is available exclusively at Toys R Us. You can pre-order it today for $24.99.
Hit the jump for ordering information and to see another member of the Green Lantern corps in action figure form.

While Marvel showcased many action figures from both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger at this year’s Comic-Con, you knew they had to be holding at least a few things back. Now, thanks to the magic of eBay, the first image of a Frost Giant action figure has been released. If you’re not familiar with the universe of Thor, here’s what wikipedia has on them:
These giants, also known as Etins are enormous beings who reside in the other-dimensional realm of Jotunheim, one of the Nine Worlds in Asgardian cosmology. They are the traditional enemies of the gods of Asgard, with whom they have fought with for millennia, trying to bring eternal night to Asgard.
Hit the jump for a few other Thor and Captain America action figure images.

While we’ve all seen pictures of the upcoming Spin Master Tron: Legacy toys, we haven’t seen what the figures look like on card. But thanks to eBay user nutflush22, after the jump you can check out Kevin Flynn, Sam Flynn, Clu, Club’s Sentry, Rinzler and the Black Guard. While the pictures aren’t perfect, considering the figures aren’t going to get released for at least another month, it’s a good early look. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m definitely planning on buying some of the Tron: Legacy toys….

If you’re a fan of Tron, start saving your money. That’s because while most of us thought Disney would offer our first look at all the upcoming Tron: Legacy toys at Comic-Con, the floodgates have opened and you can check out high-resolution images of all the upcoming Tron inspired toys. Also, the line incorporates impulse light projection technology on the action-figures. You’ve really got to see them to believe it. When I was a kid, I was happy if I could bend the action figure in more than a few spots. Kids nowadays are so spoiled….
Included in the line are video game controllers, ballpoint pens(!?!), backpacks, posters, computer peripherals, iPod docks, light cycles, deluxe vehicles, action figures, snow boots, and more. We’ve also got video of all the products and one of the toys even defies gravity! As I said, start saving your money:
