Pacific Rim feels so far away, and that’s because it kind of is. We’re a little under two months until the movie’s release, and there are plenty of blockbusters before Guillermo Del Toro‘s monsters-vs-robots picture hits the big screen. But Warner Bros. is already making sure that TV audiences are aware of the flick, and the first TV spot has been released. There’s some new footage in here, but every thing I’ve seen just leaves me with the same thought: I need to see this on a movie screen.
Hit the jump to check out the TV spot. The film stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman. Pacific Rim opens in 3D on July 12th.

Warner Bros. has unveiled three brand new behind-the-scenes featurettes and a new TV spot for director Zack Snyder’s Superman film Man of Steel, highlighting some great new footage alongside interviews with members of the cast and crew. Each of the three featurettes focuses on one of the film’s themes, so we’ve got Speed focusing on Superman’s intensely quick movements, Strength focusing on the two different approaches to Supes’ abilities from his two fathers (Russell Crowe’s Jor-El and Kevin Costner’s Pa Kent), and finally the self-explanatory Flight. Along with new footage, we see Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Crowe, Snyder, and producers Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven talking about the film.
Hit the jump to take a look at the featurettes and new TV spot. Man of Steel opens in 3D on June 14th.

“Can you imagine how people on this planet would react if they knew there was someone like this out there?”
After watching the latest Man of Steel TV spot, all I can do is agree with one of the comments posted on the official Facebook page where they said, “shut up and take my money.” While Warner Bros. has spent a substantial amount of money making Zack Snyder‘s Superman and they need to sell it to casual moviegoers, I’m at the point where I wish I could avoid the rest of their marketing plan and just see the finished product. However, I understand why we’re about to get slammed with new images, posters, clips and TV spots. The studio has to open this film and the only way to sell it is to show off the goods. And this new TV spot does just that. Watch it after the jump.
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Russell Crowe. Man of Steel opens in 3D on June 14th.

Warner Bros. has released a new TV spot for director Zack Snyder’s take on Superman, Man of Steel, and it’s pretty massive in scope. The spot highlights quite a bit of new footage from the film, including a couple of scenes that take place in space. WB’s marketing campaign has moved into full “action” mode with the latest spots and trailers for Man of Steel, as we’re starting to see just how intense Snyder’s level of destruction is in the film.

Warner Bros. has released a new TV spot and banner poster for director Zack Snyder’s Superman film Man of Steel. The 30-second spot does a nice job of teasing the grounded, character-centric nature of the pic while also highlighting the epic action that awaits audiences. All of the footage is backed by Hans Zimmer’s pulsing new Superman theme, and we also get to see some sort of massive-looking ship making ground on Earth. While the initial trailers were fairly small in scale, the most recent spots are doing a great job of teasing the grand set pieces that we’ll hopefully be seeing throughout the film.
Hit the jump to watch the new TV spot and to see the new banner. The film stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fisburne, Antje Traue, and Russell Crowe. Man of Steel opens in 3D on June 14th.

A new TV spot has been released a new TV spot for Man of Steel. It has all the pomp and circumstance we’ve come to expect from the film’s marketing campaign, and when it comes to Superman, such presentation is required. It’s Superman, after all. The TV spot also shows off some of the action we previously saw in the excellent trailer, but the real takeaway is Superman screaming. What causes this scream? Does Pa Kent die (I don’t know if Pa Kent dies in the movie, but his death is a touchstone in the character’s biography)? Does Supes step on a kryptonite nail? Is he forced to watch Superman IV: The Quest for Peace?

The Star Trek Into Darkness marketing blitz rolls on with three more TV spots for the upcoming sequel. A couple of the TV spots hammer home the same plot points we’ve seen before: Kirk (Chris Pine) needs to be responsible, the villain “John Harrison” (Benedict Cumberbatch) is really sinister, etc. But the third spot is an interesting evaluation of Uhura (Zoe Saldana) by Harrison. We saw this kind of evaluation before with Spock (Zachary Quinto), but the evaluation of Uhura sneaks in a couple frames of an unmasked Klingon. I’m not exactly sure why they needed masks in the first place, but as far as the design goes, it’s fairly subdued. However, in the TV series, the Klingons (from TNG onwards, which is when they got their distinctive foreheads) have different craniums. They have ridges, but the ridges vary from Klingon to Klingon, so we don’t know if that will be the case with Abrams’ film or if he’s gone for a uniform design.
Hit the jump to check out the TV spots and first image of an unmasked Klingon. The film also stars Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, and Alice Eve. Star Trek Into Darkness opens in IMAX 3D on May 15th and in 3D and 2D on May 17th.

As such, a new Chinese TV spot has popped up, which reveals some new Chinese-version-only footage as well as some shots from the recent traveling press tour.
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall and Guy Pearce, Iron Man 3 premieres in London tonight and opens in Hong Kong on April 25th. Hit the jump to watch the new TV spot.

Warner Bros. has released a new extended TV spot for director Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby. This TV spot appears to be geared towards the younger crowd, as it plays up the “Jazz Age” aspects of the film while highlighting Gatsby’s (Leonardo DiCaprio) lively parties and the flashier moments from the film. While I’ve mostly been onboard with the new music Luhrmann has showcased in the previous trailers, Fergie’s “jazz-pop” track that accompanies this new TV spot is just plain awful. Here’s hoping it doesn’t have a major showcase within the narrative of the film.
Hit the jump to watch the new extended TV spot, which also includes quite a bit of new footage. The film also stars Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Adelaide Clemens, and Jason Clarke. The Great Gatsby opens in 3D on May 10th.

A couple of debut TV spots have made their way online. First up, Warner Bros. has released the first international TV spot for director Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming “robots vs. monsters” movie Pacific Rim. The story is kicked off by the emergence of monsters (known as Kaiju) who start a war that devastates humanity. To fight back, the humans build giant robots (known as Jaegers) that are controlled by two pilots. This TV spot does a great job of selling the epic nature of the story, and I really can’t wait to see this thing on the biggest screen possible. The film opens in 2D and 3D on July 12th.
Additionally, Sony has released a TV spot for director M. Night Shyamalan’s sci-fi film After Earth. The film stars Will Smith and Jaden Smith as a father and son who crash land on a post-apocalyptic Earth, and it’s up to the son to fight for survival when the father is seriously injured. There are a couple of shots of new footage here, including a look at a rather ginormous creature. The film opens on June 7th. Hit the jump to check out both TV spots.

A new international TV spot has been released for Iron Man 3, and MTV just aired a clip from the upcoming superhero flick. Thankfully, neither the clip nor the TV spot are big on spoilers. It’s just selling the hell out of the action, and that really can’t be spoiled since it’s going to be far more effective on the big screen than it is on your computer monitor or television. My larger concern is if the 3D will help or hinder the picture.
Hit the jump to check out the clip and the TV spot. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley. Iron Man 3 opens in 3D on May 3rd.
