Summit Entertainment has just announced 12 nationwide outdoor screenings of the first two Twilight films on June 26. They’re calling the event “Twilight Night” and each event will include special cast member appearances as well as “engaging” activities to be enjoyed prior to the outdoor evening film screenings, including a red carpet and photo booth. However, if you don’t live in one of the twelve cities, Moviefone will live-stream events from Philadelphia and San Diego that night on the web. For more info, hit the jump:

As I wrote this summer when I posted my exclusive Comic-Con interview with The Twilight Saga screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, she has the difficult task of trying to bring Stephanie Meyer’s insanely popular book series to the screen. So while writing any movie is difficult, writing one that has so many passionate and knowledgeable fans is taking it another level. Luckily for her, the Twilight fans I’ve spoken with have really enjoyed her work and are anxiously awaiting the sequels.
When I spoke to Melissa Rosenberg a few months ago we talked about how the increased budget changed the way she writes and what did she have to edit out of books two and three to make them into movies. This time I decided to ask about her reaction to watching New Moon, has she seen any of Eclipse, who came up with the way to keep Rob Pattinson in the movie as a ghost-type image, and I also tried to find out, hypothetically speaking, if she thinks more would have to be changed from the book in the eventual fourth movie, Breaking Dawn. I also asked if she has an opinion on Breaking Dawn being two movies. If you’re a fan of The Twilight Saga, you’ll love the interview. Take a look after the jump:

If you’re a “Twilight” fan, Summit Entertainment wants to take your money this Friday as they’ve announced a new “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” trailer will be in front of all copies of their new movie “Bandslam”. And to make sure everyone hears about it, tomorrow morning at 6am PST/9am EST, they’re going to release 14 seconds of the trailer across the internet.
While I think we’re way past the time when people will pay money to see a new trailer on a movie screen, I’ve seen firsthand how passionate “Twilight” fans are…and they might actually do it. But with how fast movie footage leaks onto the internet, I’d imagine some movie theater employee is going to bootleg this trailer on Thursday and most will watch it on YouTube or whatever file sharing site they use. I’d also imagine Summit will officially release the trailer this weekend or Monday morning. So until then…
