
Production is currently underway on Woody Allen’s still untitled next film, and as per the norm plot details have been scarce. We do know that the cast includes Cate Blanchett, Sally Hawkins, Louis C.K., Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard, Andrew Dice Clay, Michael Emerson and Bobby Cannavale, and that the story takes place in San Francisco and New York City. Now a few more plot details have surfaced, as the romantic comedy apparently centers on a woman whose “posh New York City lifestyle” comes crashing down so she makes a move to San Francisco. With a few exceptions, Woody Allen has kept mostly to Europe for his new movies. Today, Variety reports that Allen will be returning stateside for his next feature. At the Rome premiere of his new movie, To Rome with Love, Allen revealed that he would be shooting his untitled picture mostly in San Francisco with a “tiny bit” in New York. Like most of Allen’s movies that are in early development, his next picture currently doesn’t have a title and plot details are being kept under wraps.
To Rome with Love involves four separate vignettes, two of which are in Italian and the other two are in English. The film stars Allen, Ellen Page, Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Alison Pill, and Greta Gerwig. To Rome with Love will premiere in the U.S. at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 14th, and open in theaters on June 22nd.
