I hope to finally make it out to Fantastic Fest this year. The festival has become known for its diverse, genre-friendly titles that stand apart from other festivals where prestige pictures step into the awards race. Fantastic Fest also gives time to cult classics and this year will be no different. There will be a 30th anniversary screening of Comin’ At Ya! 3D that’s been restored with the latest 3D technology, a digital restorations of Lucio Fulci’s House by the Cemetery and Zombie, and a 10th anniversary screening of Versus. There’s also a wide selection of international flicks and they all sound interesting.
Hit the jump to check out the complete first wave list of Fantastic Fest programming. Fantastic Fest 2011 runs from September 22 – 29th in Austin, Texas.

I have yet to love one Ryuhei Kitamura film, but I still like the guy and his films enough that I will continue to check out what ever he does. You might not know the director’s name but you have probably heard of the cult horror/action film, “Versus”, which he directed back in 2000. He has since transitioned to Hollywood after tackling one horror icon’s work with last year’s flawed but fun Clive Barker adaptation, “Midnight Meat Train”. The director is now aiming to adapt another horror icon’s work with an adaptation of Stephen King’s short story, “Home Delivery”. You more after the jump.
