NBC has put down freshman comedy series Animal Practice, which will continue to air in its 8 pm slot on Wednesday nights until November 7th. Starting November 14th, NBC, in the network’s infinite wisdom, has decided to start airing new episodes of Whitney. There is no word yet on when fan-favorite and critical darling Community will return from limbo for its fourth season. From the way NBC has handled their comedic properties, one would assume that Crystal the Monkey was in charge. Clearly that’s not the case as Crystal would never cancel her own shows. NBC continues to kick Community to the curb. The studio announced today that it would be bumping the season four return of the fan-favorite show from their expected Friday, October 19th date to an unspecified future date. Sophomore comedy series, Whitney, will also be moving to Fridays, but that show’s debut date is up in the air as well. NBC cited the need for more time to make a marketing push in the case of each series.
I can’t imagine that Community needs to be marketed any more, with the off-season fireworks of creator/showrunner Dan Harmon being let go; the fourth season will be run by Moses Port and David Guarascio. I also can’t imagine a scenario in which marketing will get me to watch Whitney. In the meantime, NBC will air re-runs of the first season of Grimm from 8-9pm on Fridays, which will lead into new episodes of the supernatural procedural. Hit the jump to see who will be returning to Community if and when it returns.

The first trailer and poster for the comedy 3, 2, 1… Frankie Go Boom have landed online. Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), and Lizzy Caplan (Party Down) star in the pic which is described as “a comedy about two brothers a girl with a broken heart, a sex tape, an angel and a pig.” Though this could very well delve into farce territory, the ridiculous situations in the trailer are actually pretty funny thanks to the innocent charm of Hunnam and overall stupidity of O’Dowd. We also get the chance to see Ron Perlman playing a transvestite, so there’s that.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. Written and directed by Jordan Roberts, the film also stars Chris Noth, Whitney Cummings, and Nora Dunn. 3, 2, 1… Frankie Go Boom will be available on iTunes starting September 10th and will have a limited release on October 12th.

After last night’s huge influx of news from Fox about series pick-ups, renewals and cancellations, it’s now NBC’s turn to announce some of their new series that we can look forward to in the fall. As of now there seems to be some dissension amongst the news outlets online as to whether or not Wonder Woman will actually get picked up, and other potential series like The Playboy Club are rumored for a pick-up but we haven’t heard anything official yet.
After the jump, check out the four new series that have definitely been picked up to premiere sometime this fall including a new sitcom from stand-up comedian Whitney Cummings, another comedy from Christina Applegate, a Broadway musical series from producer Steven Spielberg, and the stateside remake of the British crime drama Prime Suspect.
