Hilarious New Trailer for EASTBOUND & DOWN Season Three

“Look at y’all jumping around like a bunch of child molesters at Chuck E. Cheese.” Damn it’s good to have Kenny Powers back, or at least know that his return to HBO for the third (and maybe final) season of Eastbound & Down is coming on February 19th, less than a month away. Now a new trailer straight from HBO promises a great duo between Danny McBride and Jason Sudeikis as Powers’ new best friend and fellow ball player and we catch a quick glimpse of the return of Will Ferrell, Steve Little, and John Hawkes too. We’ve got quite a few set photos to share with you today, involving everything from Zach Galifianakis as a Southern politician in Chinese robes to Olivia Wilde in a luchador outfit. Briefly:

• Dog Fight – Galifianakis and Will Ferrell star as rival politicians running for a congressional seat in a small North Carolina district.
• Burt Wonderstone – Steve Carell and Jim Carrey star as rival Las Vegas magicians constantly trying to one-up each other.
• Lovelace – Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard star as Linda Lovelace and her abusive husband Chuck Traynor in the biopic about the star at the center of the porn phenomenon Deep Throat.
• Low Life – Joaquin Phoenix, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Renner star in this story of a woman (Cotillard) who immigrates from Poland to the U.S. and is forced to become a prostitute once stateside.

In this edition of “Photos from the Set,” we have:

• Neighborhood Watch – Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade star as a group of neighbors who form a local watch group and end up stumbling onto an alien plot to destroy the world.
• Lovelace – Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgard star as Linda Lovelace and her abusive husband Chuck Traynor in the biopic about the star at the center of the porn phenomenon Deep Throat.

New Trailer for CASA DE MI PADRE Starring Will Ferrell

Following a number of short, mini-teaser trailers for Casa de Mi padre, the first full-length trailer has finally arrived. The movie, entirely in Spanish, stars Will Ferrell as a Mexican rancher who must save his family’s farm while defeating a notorious drug lord and winning the hand of the lovely Sonia. This trailer is absolutely ridiculous, and that’s a very, very good thing. Ferrell is at his most goofy here, and the film looks to be a laugh riot. The supporting cast is surprisingly fantastic (Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna) and a swell appearance by Parks and Recreation’s Nick Offerman as the American in the film put a big smile on my face.

After releasing a teaser trailer in addition to some teaser posters for Casa de mi Padre, two new official posters have popped up for the Spanish comedy starring Will Ferrell. The plot revolves around a Mexican rancher (Ferrell) who must save his family’s farm while defeating a notorious drug lord and winning the hand of the lovely Sonia. Casa de mi Padre also stars Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries) and Genesis Rodriguez (Man on a Ledge). Hit the jump to check out the posters.

Full Green Band Trailer for TIM AND ERIC’S BILLION DOLLAR MOVIE

The full green band trailer for Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie has gone online. The movie is the first feature length film from the comedy duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. This trailer is pretty much exactly the same as the red band one that was release a few weeks ago, except with no dirty words. If you’re not a fan of the duo’s peculiar brand of comedy, odds are this trailer won’t win you over. The movie features cameos from a number of celebs including Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Will Forte, and Jeff Goldblum.

Teaser Trailer for CASA DE MI PADRE Starring Will Ferrell

A new teaser trailer for the Spanish-language comedy Casa de mi Padre has gone online. The pic tells the story of Armando (Will Ferrell) and the misadventures je encounters while simultaneously attempting to save his father’s farm/fend off feared Mexican drug lord Onza (Gael Garcia Bernal). As expected, it looks absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. It’s a very short teaser, but gets the lunacy of the film across just as well. Ferrell speaks Spanish for the duration of the movie, and I’m extremely looking forward to checking this thing out once it hits theaters.

Jake Szymanski of “Funny or Die” Eyed to Direct HE’S FUCKIN’ PERFECT

A Black List spec script written by Lauryn Kahn may have found its director in Jake Szymanksi (Saturday Night Live). Kahn, who had previously worked as an assistant to Adam McKay at “Funny or Die,” had her comedy effort picked up by Fox 2000 earlier this year. Szymanski, a director of numerous shorts at “Funny or Die,” has been eyed by the studio to helm the project, He’s Fuckin’ Perfect. The plot follows a girl who is savvy in the ways of social media but hesitant when it comes to romance. Using her tech skills to vet her friends’ dates, she happens to stumble upon the perfect guy and decides to turn herself into his ideal woman. Emma Stone was previously reported to be circling the role.

He’s Fuckin’ Perfect will be produced through Gary Sanchez, the production company of Will Ferrell and McKay, who also helped Kahn hone and shape her script. Hit the jump for more on the project and an example of Szymanski’s work.

With the recent pick up of Will Ferrell’s Casa De Mi Padre by Pantelion Films, we can expect to see an influx of marketing material before the film’s March 16 release. First up are two new posters from the Spanish-language comedy that presents Ferrell as a Mexican rancher who must save his family’s farm while defeating a notorious drug lord and winning the hand of the lovely Sonia. Casa De Mi Padre also stars Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries) and Genesis Rodriguez (Man on a Ledge).

We also have the new one-sheet for director David Mackenzie’s Perfect Sense which stars Ewan McGregor (Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace) and Eva Green (Casino Royale). The 2011 Sundance hit features McGregor and Green as two strangers who form a romantic connection in the face of a widespread epidemic that is wiping out all sensory perception. Red Band Trailer for TIM AND ERIC’S BILLION DOLLAR MOVIE

A full red band trailer for Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie has gone online. The pic marks the first feature-length film from the comedy duo of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. It’s pretty much what you’re expecting from the oddball team. The trailer’s got its fair share of strange moments, and highlights the celebs that pop up throughout the film (Zach Galifianakis, John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell, Will Forte and Jeff Goldblum). If you’re a fan of the show, I’m assuming this trailer will pique your interest. I can appreciate the comedic value of Tim and Eric, but I always feel like I’m on a bad acid trip when watching their stuff (which I guess is the point).

Emma Stone in Talks to Star in Comedy HE’S FUCKIN’ PERFECT

Actress and all-around awesome person Emma Stone is currently in negotiations to star in the comedy He’s Fuckin’ Perfect. The spec script comes from Lauryn Kahn, a writer who’s spent the last four years working as writer-director Adam McKay’s assistant. Deadline reports that He’s Fuckin’ Perfect “focuses on a social media savvy girl who is pessimistic about love and vets her friends’ dates to find flaws. When that process leads her to uncover the perfect guy, she decides to use her internet research skills to turn herself into his perfect match.” McKay will be producing the pic alongside Will Ferrell through their Gary Sanchez banner. Stone was spot-on in Easy A, and this sounds like another strong female-led pic well suited for the young actress (though the title will most certainly be tweaked).

Stone has been quite the busy girl as of late. She did double duty this summer with the hit dramatic adaptation The Help and the dramedy ensemble Crazy, Stupid, Love., she recently wrapped The Amazing Spider-Man, she’s currently reuniting with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer on the star-studded period pic Gangster Squad, and she’s set to host Saturday Night Live on November 12th.

Will Ferrell’s CASA DE MI PADRE Acquired by Pantelion Films for March 16, 2012 US Release

The Spanish-language comedy Casa de mi Padre/House of My Father, starring Will Ferrell will be landing stateside on March 16, 2012. If features Ferrell as Armando Alvarez, a Mexican rancher who must save his family’s farm while simultaneously fending off the drug lord, Onza, played by Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries) and winning the hand of the lovely Sonia, played by Genesis Rodriguez (Man on a Ledge). To sum it up in just a few words: passion, adventure, intrigue, betrayal, sex, danger, romance, guns, cigarettes, special effects and slaps. Hit the jump for more on Casa de mi Padre.

Jason Sudeikis Joins Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in DOG FIGHT

Jason Sudeikis has joined Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in Jay Roach‘s political comedy Dog Fight.  The movie, formerly titled Southern Rivals, is about rival politicians (Ferrell and Galifianakis) in a small congressional district in South Carolina (hence the original title).  THR doesn’t say what role Sudeikis will play but hopefully it won’t be the smarmy lothario he played three times this year (Hall Pass, Horrible Bosses, and A Good Old Fashioned Orgy).  The film also stars Sarah Baker (In Gayle We Trust) and Katherine LaNasa (Valentine’s Day).  Filming is set to begin in mid-November in New Orleans for an August 2012 release.

While it’s encouraging that Shawn Harwell (Eastbound & Down) and frequent Ferrell collaborator Chris Henchy (The Other Guys) wrote the script, I’m wary of Roach.  He botched the dark comedy in Dinner for Schmucks, but maybe he’ll fare better at politics since he directed the election dramas Recount and the upcoming Game Change.

THE OFFICE Season 7 DVD Review

In the seventh season of The Office, the writers of the long-running NBC comedy series had two big tasks ahead of them. First, the staff had to deal with the impending exit of manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell) which included giving him a worthy exit and finding him a strong replacement, but also proving that the show would be able to survive without the presence of Carell on-screen. Sadly, this season proved to be one of the weakest, and seems to be proof that the series, just like its former star, might be on the way out. However, the seventh season of The Office still contains some truly great episodes, genuinely touching moments, and one marathon of a fantastic performance from Steve Carell (who should’ve won the Emmy over Jim Parsons last month). TV Casting Call: Will Ferrell and Matthew McConaughey Return to EASTBOUND AND DOWN; Ted Danson Replaces Laurence Fishburne on CSI

We just learned about the addition of Jason Sudeikis in a new recurring role on HBO’s hilarious comedy series Eastbound & Down. We now know that some familiar faces will return for the third and possibly final season later this year as well. THR reports that Will Ferrell and Matthew McConaughey will both reprise their respective roles in the series from the first and second season. Ferrell appeared in two episodes as cocky BMW dealership owner Ashley Schaeffer while McConaughey showed up in the second season as openly gay Texas baseball scout Roy McDaniel. The series starts shooting this summer and, if it’s really going to be the final season, I’m sure it’ll go out with the type of bang only Kenny Powers can deliver.
