Summit Entertainment has released eight character motion posters for Now You See Me. I’ve enjoyed the posters for the film since they’re employing trippy optical illusions that fit in well with the plot about four magicians who use their tricks to rob banks. This looks like a fun movie, and I hope it’s good because it would be a shame to waste a cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Caine, Melanie Laurent, and Morgan Freeman.

Summit Entertainment has released the first extended clip from director Louis Leterrier’s (The Incredible Hulk) magician-centered thriller Now You See Me. The clip shows the opening sequence from the film, as we’re introduced to Jesse Eisenberg’s David Blaine-esque card trick magician, Woody Harrelson’s mentalist character, Dave Franco’s pickpocket specialist, and Isla Fisher’s escape artist. The film’s story centers on an FBI squad who is on the heels of a team of bank-robbing magicians who share their profits with the audience. This opening sequence does a great job of teasing a hopefully fun and wholly entertaining thrill ride, and I’m eager to see more.

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for director Francis Lawrence‘s (Water for Elephants) sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The darkness and melancholy of the first film has only intensified, but this trailer only tells half the story. We’re shown the victors’ tour, and how President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is trying to tear down the hope-inspiring image of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) before killing her. Only at the end of the trailer, do we hear about the second part of the story, which is the “Quarter Quell”, a special Hunger Games where past winners will be forced to fight to the death. I assume they left this out because it’s the more effects-heavy part of the story, and that footage is moving through post-production.
The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright, and Amanda Plummer. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens on November 22nd in IMAX and traditional theaters.

Summit Entertainment has released a new trailer for Now You See Me. The story centers on a group of magicians who pull off bank heists during their death-defying acts, and the FBI squad tasked with catching them. It appears that Morgan Freeman is tasked with being the expository character as he spends most of this new trailer explaining things, but we do get a closer look at the technical side of the group’s magic tricks in this clip. The premise is admittedly a bit outlandish, but director Louis Letterier (The Incredible Hulk) has put together a great cast and this trailer hammers home the promise that Now You See Me should be a lot of fun.

Director John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, The Alamo) has long been circling the director’s chair on the drama Highwaymen, and now it looks like the project is finally coming together. Hancock has signed on to helm the pic, which centers on the manhunt for infamous bank robbers Bonnie & Clyde during the Great Depression. The protagonist of the story is Texas Ranger Frank Hamer, a lawman with quite the reputation (he survived 100 gunfights and killed 53 people) who was coaxed into putting together a team of Rangers to finally take down Bonnie & Clyde following an embarrassing Texas prison break headed up by Clyde Barrow.

Lionsgate has released a couple of new “look at our characters sitting in chairs” posters for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Yesterday we got a look at Capitol Portraits for Elizabeth Banks’ Effie and Stanley Tucci’s Caesar, and today Woody Harrelson’s Haymitch and Lenny Kravitz’s Cinna get their day in the sun. I assume these portraits will be unveiled for all distinguished members of the Capitol society, so hopefully we get a close look at Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Head Gamesmaker Plutarch Heavensbee in the next day or so.

Writer/director Martin McDonagh first came to the attention of American audiences with his 2005 short film Six Shooter. Fresh off the short’s success, he wrote and directed his first feature film shortly thereafter, turning 2008’s fantastic drama In Bruges. The film was a critical hit, and it showcased McDonagh’s knack for original storytelling that blended humor and incredibly dark situations in a way that few had done before. The filmmaker’s long-awaited follow-up film finally made its way to screens last year with the sufficiently nutty and wildly self-referential comedy Seven Psychopaths. Though the pic never ceases to be entertaining, it has a hard time coalescing as a singular story, instead veering off into wild tangents and meta subplots. The marketing campaign for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire kicked off in earnest yesterday with the first images from the film, revealing the return of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth as well as our first look at Sam Claflin as fan-favorite character Finnick. Another batch of images has landed online today, giving us a peek at Philip Seymour Hoffman as new Head Gamesmaker Plutarch Heavensbee (yes, the names are increasingly ridiculous) and the return of Woody Harrelson as Haymitch. Moreover, director Francis Lawrence has revealed three characters from the book that didn’t make it into the movie.

Just yesterday the first trailer for the magician-centered pic Now You See Me was released online, and now a large batch of images from the film have surfaced. The movie follows an FBI squad on the heels of a team of bank-robbing magicians who share their profits with the audience. Directed by Louis Letterier (Clash of the Titans), the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Melanie Laurent, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine. The trailer played a bit like a “fun” version of The Prestige with a dash of Ocean’s Eleven thrown in for good measure, and I’m interested to see what the full has in store.
Hit the jump to peruse the images. The film also stars Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Common. Now You See Me opens on June 7, 2013. [Update: We've been asked by the studio to take the images down as they were not part of an official release.]

The first trailer for Now You See Me has been released. The film follows an FBI squad on the heels of a team of bank-robbing magicians who share their profits with the audience. Sounds like Ocean’s Eleven with a magical twist, right? Well, the trailer shows that that’s certainly the case, but the “magic” tricks rely heavily on spectacle and computerized effects, throwing practicality right out the window. So it appears to be more of an action adventure flick with magical elements than any kind of head-scratcher; still could be fun though!

Writer/director Paul Haggis (Crash) has made a couple of last minute casting additions to his next project, Third Person. Maria Bello and Adrien Brody are the latest to join a cast that now includes Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde, James Franco, Kim Basinger, Mila Kunis, and Moran Atias. In the vein of Haggis’ Oscar-winning 2004 drama Crash, the film follows three intersecting stories set in Paris, New York, and Rome, “with each storyline following a different stage of a love relationship from the beginning, middle, and the end.”
Variety’s report doesn’t provide details on Bello’s character, but Brody plays the love interest of Atias. We also know that Neeson and Wilde play a journalist and a gossip columnist, respectively, in the New York storyline. Production begins this week in Rome.
