If the brief, 20-second look at Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig's Lifetime movie A Deadly Adoption left you wanting more, then today is your day! A new extended trailer for the made-for-TV movie strongly suggests that, yes, Ferrell and Wiig are playing their roles exceedingly straight and, yes, this is a dyed-in-the-wool Lifetime movie. Ferrell and Wiig play the Bensons, a happily married couple who decide to shelter a young expecting mother (Jessica Lowndes) whose baby they have arranged to adopt. Things take a dark turn however when the young woman is revealed to have plans of her own.

Developed in secret until relatively recently, supposedly the plan was to spring the movie upon the unsuspecting viewing public and let viral word of mouth do the rest. Then, a few months back, existence of the project leaked and it looked like the whole thing would be cancelled thanks to the snafu. Then a massive, building-sized poster for the film appeared in Hollywood. So after a little bit of deception and some smoke and mirrors, we get these lovely little peeks at the film via trailers, and it looks like all the drama and delay could be very well worth it.

A Deadly Adoption was scripted by Andrew Steele (The Spoils of Babylon) and directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Escape from Polygamy). It will premiere on Lifetime on June 20th at 8pm to celebrate the network's movie-making anniversary.
