I need a hold on any more red-band trailers for Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass. It’s tearing me up inside that I won’t get to see this film until mid-April and MySpace had to go and debut a new restricted trailer that makes the wait even worse. The movie looks like it’s pulsing with so much energy that it’s about to have the world’s most awesome heart attack. It’s not that it has violence, swearing, and national geographic tits, but this trailer is just cut really well and it needs to be mid-April now. Assholes going to SXSW will get to see Kick-Ass even earlier as the festival is hosting the world premiere of the movie.
I hate waiting but I kind of love this new trailer. Check it out after the jump along with the official synopsis. Kick-Ass hits theaters on April 16th.
For those just tuning in, here’s the official synopsis for Kick-Ass:
“Kick-Ass” tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name – Kick-Ass – assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.
His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

this was probably the best trailer of all time
Yeah, that trailer was AWESOME! I loved the part where Hit Girl tells him “how to contain them.”
Also the girl saying that Kick Ass is cute, that was funny. Good to see the Red Myst scene has some swear words instead of the previous PG trailer that just had “mmphf” sounds.
God I can't wait for this to come out.

I feel so left out, here, but I'm just not excited for this movie- at all. Who knows? I'll probably love it when I see it. But, for now, just looks like another 'nerd' fantasy to me. And that's weird, cause I'm a nerd who loves comic books. Maybe it's just the hype. Or, maybe it was that last wink-wink nudge-nudge 'fantasy' from Vaughn Stardust Dreams (or, whatever it was called)…
