If you were a fan of The Shield on FX and miss the show, you’re going to love this news. Variety is reporting Lie to Me’s showrunner (and Shield creator) Shawn Ryan has lined up a mini-reunion on his new show. While Michael Chiklis won’t be appearing, Catherine Dent, Kenny Johnson, David Marciano, Benito Martinez, Cathy Cahlin Ryan and David Rees Snell have all agreed to guest star on one of the future episodes this season. For what the episode is about and who they’ll play, hit the jump:
Here’s what Variety had on the episode:
In the episode — titled “Pied Piper” — Marciano will play Jason Wilkie, an inmate who “Lie to Me” lead character Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) helped convict for murdering a child 17 years ago.
After Marciano’s character is executed, his victim’s aunt and uncle — played by Dent and Martinez — are targeted again. Looking for answers — and worried that he sent the wrong man to jail — Lightman talks to Wilkie’s younger brother, played by Snell, and his ex-girlfriend, played by Ryan.
Those two lead Lightman to a new suspect — the photographer Malcolm Hessler, played by Johnson.
While many people never saw The Shield, it was a hell of show. I think it’s great the cast has agreed to do this episode and it shows how much they must have enjoyed working together. No info on when it’ll air.
