A new trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has gone online. The film posits that one of our nation’s greatest Presidents spent his spare time slicing and dicing vampires. I was a bit surprised by the first trailer in that the whole “Abraham Lincoln kills vampires” thing is played super serious, so I went into this new trailer with a different mindset. We get a better sense of the story, but I’m still not entirely enthused by the film. The trailer excels when it shows off the scenes that highlight the epic scope, but the rest of the time it’s basically Lincoln spinning his axe around all fancy-like. Timur Bekmambatov directed the film, and I’m assuming that if you were a fan of his action pic Wanted, the style of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will be right up your alley.

Hit the jump to watch the new trailer, and check back for our full report on the film’s WonderCon panel later today. The film stars Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell, and Anthony Mackie. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in 3D on June 22nd.

Here’s the official synopsis for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter:

Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of Wanted) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the blood-thirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history’s greatest hunter of the undead.
