LA Times' geek blog "Hero Complex" is reporting that Adam Sandler may have a role in Seth Rogen's upcoming-totally-not-dead-adaptation of "The Green Hornet". Sandler, according to two different sources close to the production, would play "a brief but key role in the movie as a certain surprise superhero...I heard which one, too, but I don't want to ruin it." It could be The Lone Ranger (who made cameos on The Hornet's show) but he's not a superhero and there would undoubtedly be legal difficulties since Jerry Bruckheimer is actively trying to make a movie with that character. So who could it be? My suspicion is that revealing the character would only "ruin it" for die-hard fans of the series since most people still have no idea who the "Green Hornet" is. Honestly, if asked you to tell me what "The Green Hornet" was about, as a series, could you tell me anymore than "It's about two guys in masks that fight crime," without going to Wikipedia for more information?
