Lionsgate has released a new Age of Adaline trailer for director Lee Toland Krieger’s (Celeste & Jesse Forever) romantic drama, which continues to look better and more interesting than I initially imagined. Blake Lively stars as a woman who suffers a near-fatal accident in the 1930s that renders her immortal. She embarks on an epic, isolated journey, keeping her secret while continually striking up and then ending relationships before she grows too close.

This new trailer is essentially an abbreviated version of the first one that debuted a few months ago. It’s not as artful as that cut, but it’s still quite affecting and it’s certainly playing up the romance aspects as it aims to target those heading out to the movies on Valentine’s Day weekend. This is a premise that’s been done to death, but Krieger looks to have put together something really interesting here, anchored by a strong performance from Lively. I’m genuinely looking forward to this one.

Watch the new The Age of Adaline trailer below. The film also stars Michiel Huisman, Ellen Burstyn, Kathy Baker, Amanda Crew, and Harrison Ford. The Age of Adaline opens in theaters on April 24th.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Age of Adaline:

After miraculously remaining 29 years old for almost eight decades, Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively) has lived a solitary existence, never allowing herself to get close to anyone who might reveal her secret. But a chance encounter with charismatic philanthropist Ellis Jones (Michiel Huisman) reignites her passion for life and romance. When a weekend with his parents (Harrison Ford and Kathy Baker) threatens to uncover the truth, Adaline makes a decision that will change her life forever.
